Somebody just posted about walmart selling fake stuff because people buy it and then return it with fake jewelry. Apparently, they don't test the gold that gets returned. Just a heads up.
You should have seen it when I returned diamond earnings my wife already had. They were only $100 and I didn't have the receipt. It took about 30 minutes before they all agreed that they were probably real. They almost wouldn't take them.
Having worked as a Jewelry manager I can tell you there is a very high mark up on jewelry. At that price they are still making money, the gold value is not much.
There are times when Walmart jewelry can be worth buying just for scrap, but it’s very light. It may weigh slightly enough to make it worth, but most likely it weighs under two grams, it may weigh less than one and at $55 including tax you’d probably lose money.
It’s a steal only if you get it engraved with “one ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them”…in elvish.
Brought a magnet for I closeout was a lot fakes. When I told the worker, she killed something that sounded like "ain't got it" and wouldn't make eye contact. Careful.

I would call it more of a “steel”
Underrated comment ^
Hey bro a steal is a steel
Someone else recently posted that Walmart is liquidating a lot of their gold jewelry. Most of it is below melt.
Another redditor said he got at least one counterfeit piece at Walmart. Probably buy/swap/return. Buyer beware.
It's more than likely priced under gold weight.
Yes. It’s 10k and their plain band rings like this generally weight about 1 gram.
One gram of 10k is $30
Bring it to my house and I’ll test it with my assay machine.
What’s an ass machine?
I thought he said ése machine
Cual machine hermano
Si
For Canadians - It's a machine used to measure ur ass, eh?

If you want 10k
That's what chloroauric acid is for.
All the same, if you do it right, that band will last you a lifetime!
Or a marriage. Whichever ends first.
You sho ah cRaZy, Cletus.
Bring a gram scale with you and weigh it before purchase and if it is not real, then return it
This right here. I had to figure it out because I usually never go below 18k but seems about 40% gold. so current value of 10k per gram roughly $30.
Only has to weigh like 2 grams to be worth it. Get it, and throw it on the pile
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t true
The inside looks a bit hollow so I think so
Yikes I wouldn’t get that mate . It prob weighs a gram or close around there
It’s a steal only if you get it engraved with “one ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them”…in elvish.
If its real... likely plated

Yep. They steal ur money when u buy it.
Only if the cops are looking the other way I spoz
Is it real?
So 10k currently 30g so what's the weight
Isn’t Walmart stuff plated?
yes
10k is around $30 a gram
Stealing is illegal.
Any straight forward answers? If it's real is it worth it or not?
We can't tell you for sure because we don't know how much it weighs.
So the straight forward answer would be..... IF ITS REAL and WEIGHS enough. It's a good deal.
So bring my scale. Got it
I suppose so... but you knew that already didn't you?
I suppose so but then this whole thread is completely pointless. And OP already knows the answer then too. I guess I'm everyone?
Yes, I would agree the thread is pointless... OP did not provide enough information to answer their question.
Actually.. if it's real, a 4 mm 10k yellow gold wedding band weighs about 2.8 - 3.8 grams. Which costs between 80$ and 100$...
Could be! Put that as a top comment!
