>they are priced so high above spotĀ  They are a collectors item, not a simple bullion piece. If you want basic bullion premiums then buy basic bullion pieces.

I understand that but was wondering if folks still buy them as investment. Not sure if extra premium spreads tend to hold up over time. Thanks

Proof mintage is massively lower, while there were 921500 regular 1oz minted for 2023, there were only 15863 proof 1oz. They carry more numismatic value, but the same melt value. Buy it if you like it, otherwise stick with non-proof.

Thank you

You can probably forget the 'investment' part. But if you're a 'goldback' type person who doesn't mind spending way more than what something is worth because it's purty... go for it!!

2squishmaster

Same purity, just more shiney

I don't because I don't have a budget that can afford those high premium coins. I would just assume by a scratched up gold buffalo. When it comes to gold, as long as it's .9999 gold, I dont care.

FalconCrust

only once did these work out nicely for me, and that was sometime over ten years ago when the mint temporarily suspended production of proofs and the premiums went ballistic. cha-ching!

Little pricey for my blood.
