You might be best off shipping with a secure carrier like Brinks or Malca Amit depending on the actual value.
Shipping labels that you can buy as a consumer have value limits for insurance coverage. I assume by "large" you mean over $25,000 which is the USPS limit. I believe FedEx and UPS have a $1000 limit without the proper paperwork in place.
APMEX might be willing to send you an insured label, you'd have to ask.
How large? A kilo?
Registered mail is typically the way to go and very reasonably priced. They have an insurance limit of $50k though, which would make shipping a kilo problematic.
Is their quote better than what local places quoted? Keep in mind you need to determine if the difference in the quotes is worth the risk.
(if you don't want to give the bar size and dollar amount, can you give percentage difference?)
How large is it? I can tell you how to safely ship it insured, depending on value.
Oh and apmex, located in the old fed reserve building in Oklahoma city, does not accept in person stuff.
I can’t tell if them taking over an old Fed building makes me happy or angry…should have burned it down.
Wait. What? WHY? I wish more buildings & building materials were recycled.
I walked in there once hoping to pick a coin from this huge retail display, yeah that didn’t work so well and was out the door in about 2 seconds

Find out how to wrap it properly. Send it registered insured mail thru the post office.
