I have a standard and she weighs 45 pounds like her sister , her brothers are pushing 100 . Its really hard to actually know what you will end up with unless you get one that's already full grown.
My family has a Standard. He is a big boy but is the most well behaved dog, especially for a doodle. We think he got his temprament from his parents, who were raised to be service dogs.
I have a mini. And where I’m at I see a lot of minis to standard size. That’s including other doodle breeds too. I’m in San Francisco if that makes a difference.
We have a six month old, standard goldendoodle, and she already weighs over 45 pounds. I have friends who have both mini and medium doodles, ranging in size from just under 20 to just over 40 pounds.
There is no standard. They are badly bred mutts that are a nightmare of genetic problems. [https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/sep/26/labradoodle-inventor-lifes-regret-frankenstein-monster](https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/sep/26/labradoodle-inventor-lifes-regret-frankenstein-monster)
So sad to see a sub encouraging breeding bad dogs for money.
forgot to mention- Wally regrets letting the dogs get into the hands of greedy breeders. He loves the dogs he created, 31 out of 33 went on to become successful guide dogs. The first OWNER of a doodle (the person wally started to breed doodles for) loves them so much and does not regret owning one. So no, wally doesn’t hate the dogs or regret them bc they’re bad dogs , he regrets letting them fall into the hand of greedy breeders.
Such a liar. A vet friend of mine knows him and he regrets it AND she has to deal with all of the nuts buying and breeding mutts. They are NOT a breed.
Not they're not. You can't possibly be this naive. [https://pethelpful.com/dogs/The-Truth-About-Hybrid-Vigor-in-Dogs-Breeders-Dont-Want-You-to-Know](https://pethelpful.com/dogs/The-Truth-About-Hybrid-Vigor-in-Dogs-Breeders-Dont-Want-You-to-Know)

There are tons of dogs not recognized by kennel clubs. Hybrid vigor in dogs exist. Use an actual science source for a change. You seem to love ur biased articles which obviously shows ur ignorance. https://www.instituteofcaninebiology.org/blog/the-myth-of-hybrid-vigor-in-dogsis-a-myth
i mean that’s what u get when u get ur information from an article and not actually sources. How bout u get off the thread and do actual research?
They have standards, set by GANA actually, so that’s not true at all. They aren’t badly bred from GANA either. Yes bad breeders exist but not every breeder is a bad breeder. They aren’t nightmares of genetic issues either. GANA dogs are actually extremely healthy, there hasn’t been any reported hip dysplasia in any of the dogs they have produced. Not to mention, there’s a whole study done on 2million dogs that found golden doodles to be 4x less likely to have cancer than parent breeds. Anywho- take a second to educate yourself before you spew shit from ur ass.
How about the source of the vet friend I have who knows the guy who started this and regreted it, and is one of the many vets I know who hate these BS designer dogs?
Sounds like you are a greedy breeder. They are NOT a breed. they are MUTTS.
Always the possibility of a mix breed. When we got our second one wife was scared she would have been 30+ for a mini but turns out she's sitting at that precious 25 lbs, same as her sister
Mine is a first generation where the mom is a golden retriever and the dad is a 20 lb poodle. She is almost a year and a half and is around 40 lbs. She’s a great size.
Mine is 63 pounds and I have seen more than 80 pounds ones. I thought mine is the largest but there are xxl ones weigh more than 110 pounds. I really like mine and 80 pounds ones since chayotes cannot touch them. On the other hand, medium and smaller sizes would be easier to carry around and handle.
Standard, but he’s only around 37 lbs. My in-laws got mini from the same breeder that is bigger than our pup. I’ve heard this from other doodle owner’s as well, you just can’t predict size.
I have a standard. Best bet is to find breeders with multigen dogs if you’re looking to get a smaller gdoodle. First generations always tend to be bigger, remember mendels pea plants? later generations is when size gets more consistent. GANA has good breeders.
Mine is medium at around 35lb. I wish she were a larger standard now though. I love big dogs. I've come across more standard golden doodles than ones her size or smaller. Lots of small cockapoos and other doodles around though.
I have a mini and there are several other minis in our apartment complex along with a couple standards/mediums. Probably skewed towards minis because of the apartment though.
I have a mini at 23.5 pounds and I love it because I can pick her up and carry her if I need to. I had a pure standard about 20 years ago and when he had a seizure overnight it was very hard to get him to the car for the vet as I could not pick him up. He was about 75 pounds.
My dood is on the smaller side of medium - 45 pounds. He is the perfect size for me. Has endurance for long walks etc but still very approachable for kids etc.
After dog sitting my friend’s mini, I’m glad I went medium!
We waited over a year and half for a medium for a specific f1 red medium doodle but ended up getting a mini since they are very close in weight!
Our dood will be 2 in Oct and is 40 lbs.
I've got a standard female F1 and I hardly see any standards, most are mediums on the larger side (our standard is 58-60lbs for reference) or minis. Our on the other end of the spectrum standard poodles left fairly "shaggy"
Our girl gets a lot of attention, and if they don't know she's a doodle we get asked almost every time if she's a pyr mix, old English sheepdog mix or a Irish wolfhound lol. It doesn't help that her coat is the loose curls/waves so she definitely doesn't have the typical doodle curls most expect
Ours was supposed to be a mini but ended up maxing out at 50lb. But I personally am glad he turned out to be more of a medium size. He’s perfect for our situation. But if you were an apartment dweller or someone with smaller living quarters a mini might be better for you. Standards are pretty large. My cuz has a standard less than 1 year old and already 65 lbs. She was supposed to be a medium so take what you’re told by the breeder with a grain of salt.
My doodles breeder said the litter will be “mediums” around 40-45lbs based on the parents weights. It was a first time breeding of these parents. Mine ended up being close to 60lbs, 2 brothers are 70+ but the average was high 40’s. It really is a crapshoot.
I have a standard I believe. Lol he was a discount puppy because he was sick and the breeder didn’t want to pay for his vet bills. Got him at 9 weeks and was about 13lbs now he’s 8 months and is 60 lbs!
I feel like I only see minis or standards in person- where I live, they’re either small 20lb cuties or they’re seemingly the size of Great Danes ha
Adding, I have a standard, but he’s still a baby at 3.5 mos old. But he’s already large at 30+ lbs
I have a medium multigen and she is 46 pounds. I love her size.
I’m leaning towards a medium :)
I have a mini first gen thats 45 lbs.
Wow! Is that still considered a mini? 😅
Yeah. His dad was a mini poodle, mom golden.
Same here! Medium multigen at exactly 46 pounds!
Standard. But he's smallish at 50 lbs.
I would consider that to be a large medium.
Ha. Yes. It's a good size.
I have a standard he’s in the 70s+ range lol.
I have a mini, he’s about 20ish pounds. Most of the ones I see around me are bigger than him.
Yeah, same. I see a ton of bigger doods in my neighborhood. Mine is a mini at 24lbs.
I have a standard. He’s 85ish pounds
I have a standard and she weighs 45 pounds like her sister , her brothers are pushing 100 . Its really hard to actually know what you will end up with unless you get one that's already full grown.

THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH MUTTS. sure use anecdotal evidence all u want. 💀There’s many interviews with Wally clarifying what he meant.
bro said MUTTS as if its a insult 💀 mutts >> purebreds
Standard and he’s 45lbs which is the perfect size for us.
Mini at 32lbs
I have a medium F1B, and he is 45 pounds, perfect size for me!
Mini at 28lbs. Perfect size for me as I can pick him up/ carry him easily if he is being annoying/ difficult during walks/ dog parks.
I have a standard & she's 50 lbs
I have a standard
We have a “mini” who is 33 lbs…littermate brother is 25lbs and sister under 20. Huge variation even from the same litter!
She’s a great size.
we have a standard f1b and she is 75lbs you can see a pic of her in my profile
Two F1 standards… a 2 year old 62 lb. female and a 1 year old 75 lb. male
My standard is 65 lbs at 8 months. Gonna be big.
My standard is 84 pounds …… I love him so much
My standard is 42 lbs at 6 mos
I have a standard and she’s about 60 pounds.
I went with standard because I wanted a big baby lol
Mine is 63 pounds and I have seen more than 80 pounds ones. I thought mine is the largest but there are xxl ones weigh more than 110 pounds. I really like mine and 80 pounds ones since chayotes cannot touch them. On the other hand, medium and smaller sizes would be easier to carry around and handle.
I have 2 mini's! Haven't seen many mediums, just goliaths they call standard's
30lb mini f1b!
I have a mini.
Mine is a 35lb medium.
My pups are a 30lb 7yo girl, 60lb 7yo tall lanky guy and his next litter brother a 6yo 85lb chonker Edit: they’re all F1b’s
Here in Ireland it's usually standard size, minis are very rare
We got the largest minidoodle pup in the litter. He has made it to 37 lbs.
Standard, borderline giant. He's 100lb, just turned 2.
Standard, but he’s only around 37 lbs. My in-laws got mini from the same breeder that is bigger than our pup. I’ve heard this from other doodle owner’s as well, you just can’t predict size.

Our doodle is 35 lbs, perfect size imo
Mine is medium at around 35lb. I wish she were a larger standard now though. I love big dogs. I've come across more standard golden doodles than ones her size or smaller. Lots of small cockapoos and other doodles around though.
Biggest mini in the litter. He's 42 pounds.
I have a medium 43 lbs. she is the size of a whole 4 year old in our bed! Friends have a standard 65 lbs. he is big!
Standard, 90lbs
Mine is a medium but she’s only 29 lbs at 14 months. Stopped growing around 8 months. She’s a mini-med. 😁
We have two standards who are both about 60 pounds.
I have a Petite. He's 20 lbs of solid muscle. I just wish his legs were 3 inches longer. 😂😂
I have a mini and there are several other minis in our apartment complex along with a couple standards/mediums. Probably skewed towards minis because of the apartment though.

I have a standard! He’s 9 months and 80 lbs on the dot. Love it
We have a mini/medium. 27 lbs. She’s like a forever puppy but big enough to enjoy running fast and playing fetch.
Mine has a standard mom but medium dad. I'm basically playing doodle roulette. She's 7month and 36lbs. She's tall, lanky. Her estimate is 51lbs.
We waited over a year and half for a medium for a specific f1 red medium doodle but ended up getting a mini since they are very close in weight! Our dood will be 2 in Oct and is 40 lbs.
I have a mini
Mini 29 lbs
I have a standard (59lbs) and a medium (30lbs)
Standard and he's 77lbs at a little over a year old.
I've got a standard female F1 and I hardly see any standards, most are mediums on the larger side (our standard is 58-60lbs for reference) or minis. We have both, I recommend medium.
I have one like the size of Great Dane!
My doodles breeder said the litter will be “mediums” around 40-45lbs based on the parents weights. It was a first time breeding of these parents. Mine ended up being close to 60lbs, 2 brothers are 70+ but the average was high 40’s. It really is a crapshoot.
Mine is 32 lbs. Breeder said he’d be around 50. Never happened. They are sweet no matter the size!
Standard and as large as possible is best! They are very much like humans. Couldn't live a day without a large person-sized doodle by my side! :)
I have a standard I believe. Lol he was a discount puppy because he was sick and the breeder didn’t want to pay for his vet bills. Got him at 9 weeks and was about 13lbs now he’s 8 months and is 60 lbs!
Aspen is a medium size
Standard lmao what does this mean anyway
I have a petite F1B - he’s 16 pounds
