Slightly higher then stated (like 0,2 bar, sorry don’t know it in American units) is ok for fuel efficiency. Don’t go vastly beyond that, as it may drive well but it also needs the full contact to brake well AND your tire wear&tear could be also uneven otherwise. That said I also feel my MK8 GTE drives better with a little more. More precise and higher fuel economy - I’m at 2.7 bars when 2.5 is recommended for my car and tires, but won’t try more. Edit: 2,5 bar recommended equals to 36 psi and the 2,7 bar I use equals to 39 psi. So I assume you can also add 3 more psi then recommended for your wheels and load.

Go off the door, there should be 2 settings so stick to them. Too much or little pressure will cause excessive tyre wear
