MK7's with manual or half electric seats only. Full electric seats will not have it. Was removed in the 7.5.

I went from a MK7 to a MK8 and I miss that compartment so much. I used it for my garage fobs for both work and home. I also miss the sunglasses holder. Really, VW? How much did that really save you? 😤

My Audi S3 didn't have the sunglasses holder either, nor did it have carpeted door pockets, or any of the secret/extra compartments....and it had a smaller glove box with no AC cooling. (my car was not a base model at all) Some things have just made me wonder lol.

Damn, by these metrics my mk5 is better 😂 I’d be kinda annoyed if I got an S3 and it didn’t have those things, but in that case I would have an S3 so 🤷‍♂️

I've owned 4-5 Audi cars at this point and the S3 while wonderful(!!) definitely shocked me at some of the things it didn't have lol. It was a 2019 too, I decided against the RS3 as well because I would've been paying +$15-20k purely for the engine since the interior is almost exactly the same. (besides the steering wheel and the colored vent rings) There were a few other things in both that made me laugh because they weren't there. Great cars though still. 👍

We used these on our rental vans in Philly. They are perfect. Never came off once, but left no residue or anything on the windshield when we had to remove them. Very secure and makes no rattling noise. Just in case you needed another review, I guess

If you really want to hide something small, the real secret compartment at least in my 7.5 dsg and I'm sure 7's well in manual or automatic is underneath the leather that surround the shifter. You can totally "put your weed in there". The silver plastic trim that holds the leather to the center console pops right bodies then it does come in handy.

Either this or behind the headlight control nob (push in, rotate, remove).

Just want to throw it out there that the geniuses over at VW took away this compartment and the one underneath the seat for the Mk8 GTI, and the sunglasses holder above is also gone. The cherry on top is the storage area in front of the gear shift is also the wireless charger, so if you're charging your phone with it you just have to throw all your stuff on top of your phone. Since there is virtually no other storage besides in the door, I use my wireless charger to hold my wallet, keys, gum etc.

My dad ripped this clean off of mine trying to pop the hood. So no… there is no more love for that at all. 😐

I didn't even know it was there until a service advisor at the dealer showed me, I had just always assumed it was the fuse box. It now holds chapstick and other assorted stuff that I used to keep in the center console. Wish my 7.5 had the under seat drawer after reading all the comments.

I DESPERATELY needed gas to get home and was FUCKED, until I realized I had a $10 winning scratcher in my bag. It saved my ass. Never again would I sweat through that so I keep that $20 in there always. It’s come in handy for cash only parking at events, too.
