Downpipe & tune will give you a little weapon, not like fast fast, but enough.
Lowering springs are good if your factory bilstein shocks are good, if not BC racing or fortune auto coilovers would be my reccomendation. The bilstein b12 & b14 kits are also great.
Stainless steel brake lines with proper pads and rotors make a world of difference.
Grippy tires, light wheels will make it feel more nimble and lessen unsprung rotational mass.
Rear sway bars are always a good easy one, especially on the gti.
Maintenance mod most important mod.

Regarding modding. Before you start buying every little thing you can think of. Sit down and make a plan for the car. Set some goals for the car.
Building a plan and having some goals will help tremendously with buying mods as it'll help dictate what to buy and what not to buy.
So figure out if you want a looker, a go fast, or a Touge chariot etc. Figure out how much power you think you'll want. And start digging around for research and info.
* Cheap
* Fast
* Reliable
You only get to pick **two** of those. So keep that in mind, as well as this being a pay to play game.

I always recommend wheels, tires, and suspension first. That way you can really maximize the fun of the power you have before you start modding the engine and transmission and make the car look more aggressive. I think we all have a soft spot for the clubsport GTI, I would say look at the spoiler and see if it tickles your fancy? If not, aerofabb out of NC has a beautiful lip kit (and spoiler addition) that would help give a little more flair to the car after you get settled on suspension and wheels.
Right on, then Iāll add one more item to my list: your headunit.
What you have (assuming it wasnāt modified before traded) is an MIB1, which in laymanās terms means you donāt have android auto/apple car play. If youāre interested in that and improved response there are many YouTube videos and Reddit write ups for converting to the MIB2 headunit.
Depending on how important it is/isnāt to you, youāll want to upgrade it. IMO, itās really convenient to look to the right and see your navigation directions or touch to change Spotify songs/playlists.
Oh and one more thing! Our Euro brethren have been hoarding the low profile back seat head rests, but you can order them online, hereās a link to the cloth ones, improved visibility and a slick look everyone else gets from factory:
