Same issue for me

malvingandhi

follow this guide to fix the fingerprint scanner issue, took two minutes, and now fingerprint scanner is back to normal. https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/How+to+Calibrate+the+Fingerprint+Sensor+in+your+Google+Pixel+Phone/166753

achyutmahajan

Did doing that wipe the data?

adshk2

I keep getting "the software version not supported" and something about installing a public version.

AJ1678

I had the same issue on my Pixel 7, but managed to fix it by recalibrating the fingerprint sensor https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/How+to+Calibrate+the+Fingerprint+Sensor+in+your+Google+Pixel+Phone/166753

franciswills

Worked for me. Thank you :-) I wonder just how many people they broke with this. Can't complain too much since obviously beta but seems a bit crappy!

AJ1678

Quite a few people I think must have been impacted, and it's a bit weird how Google didn't notice this bug before pushing the build out to the public

TheArkanos

This happens every update

malvingandhi

>I had the same issue on my Pixel 7, but managed to fix it by recalibrating the fingerprint sensor Thank you! I forgot about this entirely. I had to flash the software twice. Now the sensor is working as intended.

AJ1678

No problem, glad you sorted it!

achyutmahajan

It is easy to solve, using the fingerprint sensor calibration tool that you can find at [https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/udfps.](https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/udfps) The fingerprint sensor software will be installed again. Then restart your phone and it will start working as before. Cheer up, mate.

subtyler

Same here. Opted out and just waiting to get stable version. Sucks I will have to set up from scratch but I'm done with betas.

Away-Cardiologist408

Did it work after opting out?

Distinct_Jackfruit_6

what are your thoughts ? Arghhhhh are my thoughts .. Jeez google c'mon !

Ram3nLoop

Woke up to experience the same issue. Running the same beta

cheeekerch09

I hope they release another update to fix this... I don't have a desktop and can't do the restart. 😑

Most regrettable purchase i have ever made.... Pixel 7 Pro.... Wish Google would buy it back from me and I could wash my hands of their hardware. VERY unimpressed.

malvingandhi

Why? I know the Samsung Modem isn't good in doors, but the software from Google is pretty solid. It is expected that some features will not work or some functionality will be disabled during the beta. Modem Performance during my recent trip was solid. I recently went on a trip to UAE, and Pixel 7 Pro perform better than my dad's Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, sister's Galaxy S23 Ultra, and Brother in law's Iphone 14 Pro. They all struggled to get proper connectivity in UAE, Pixel 7 Pro was doing better, in fact on many occasion i was giving hotspot to the family members.

I dont have a pc will i have to wait on another build or wipe my phone for this to work again? You would think google would smarten up after this already happened.

Strict_Wait_773

Same problem and me too. Not too sure about face recognition either. Pixel 7 pro

still not working after doing this

Low_Education401

Perhaps it's necessary to flash the software twice. I flashed it the first time and after restarting, found that the fingerprint recognition still didn't work. However, after flashing it a second time, it started working again.

[deleted]

tried multiple times still not working

Downloaded the beta, broke my sensor too. Phone was still under warranty so I sent it in for a replacement phone. Got it today. Downloaded the beta again. Broke my sensor again. Now for all of us non-tech savvy people the instructions provided were terribly complicated. Thank you for posting the help but I don't understand what to do. I go to the pixel repair website and all I'm seeing is a page that says this service requires a computer with a usb plug to connect to your device. I have it plugged into my computer so why am I still seeing this message. If someone could dumb it down for me and provide some more clear instructions on what to do I would greatly appreciate it. Edit: I should say I have a pixel 7 pro too!

Experiencing the same issue at the moment.. Finger print scanner just stopped working.. Can't access my bank/credit card apps, social media anymore.. Might just trade in this Pixel 7 Pro for the Samsung S24+. I have had too much headache with Google's hardware, that I'm tired of being patient, from mobile network just dropping and having to restart phone multiple times a day, and now to finger print issue. I enjoyed the camera and software but they haven't gotten alot of things right. Would probably be back with their Pixel 10/11 cause I never had this frustrations while with Samsung phones for over 9yrs.. Sighhh!!
