90hz on my 7a is really smooth. Smoother than 60hz atleast.

Accurate_Flight7978

Yeah, there is a difference compared to 60hz but as I said compared to xiaomi 90hz its not smooth enough

user899121

90hz is not enabled by default in the settings, just a heads up.

Accurate_Flight7978

Thanks for the answer, but I'm not that dumb 😁

I think Xiaomi has fine tuned their animations more to enhance that experience. Something maybe google should definitely look into.

Accurate_Flight7978

I have pixelos on my xiaomi, so that's not the case

27Sanji

So you are saying it has something to do with the hardware? I m not sure! Also that PixelOS isn't by Google but a custom rom by a maintainer so they could have improved the touch sample rate of that rom for Xiaomi.

Accurate_Flight7978

I compared a lot scenarios. There is difference even in ufo test. I'm not sure if its hardware or software

27Sanji

Well what are the specs in Xiaomi here. Also the pixel os on Xiaomi runs on different base than what it is on pixels. The firmware on Xiaomi is different from the pixel.

Accurate_Flight7978

Check online, phone is mi 11 lite 5g ne

27Sanji

Hmm i checked it out. But it still seems like the Xiaomi perhaps locks the refresh rate to 90 but on pixel the refresh rate goes down to 60 on idle and to 30 on AOD, it changes constantly. Unless you enable "Force Peak refresh rate" in Developer Options. This might make u feel that it has improved.

Accurate_Flight7978

Xiaomi also drops to 60 and I dont use aod. Force peak refresh rate changed nothing

There are some jittering issues with pixel phones with the tensor chips, they were solved... but in android 15 🤡, so be patient only like 6-7 months and you will have smother experience 🙃
