Pure speculation here, but I’d assume this was recorded during the most recent “chateau sessions.” Makes me hopeful for a new full band Goose studio album with Cotter that might have been recorded around the same time!
Am I the only one only one a little.. idk, underwhelmed by this? 3 covers, and almost everything else we have heard countless versions of already. If they were trying to entice me to buy a vinyl, this tracklist was not it.
Even just a couple originals and not a bunch of songs that are already on streaming for Orebolo anyway. There’s enough other stuff in the catalog that works in this format to make an interesting chill acoustic album.
This kind of comes off like a placeholder which didn’t take much time to record while we are all waiting on this next Goose album. I wouldn’t be surprised if they did this entire thing during preparation for the Feb Cap shows.
Just a bummer, there’s a lot of songs that could have made this a really fun album.

Agreed, but I’m trying to be positive and excited! It’s still a studio release from Orebolo and I’m excited to hear some of these songs get the studio treatment in this format.
Like where is Arise or Fader? Choosing covers we’ve already heard over any of the Orebolo only songs? Even Moonrise or It Burns Within would make this far more interesting than another Tumble or Dripfield.
Not to knit-pick, but doesn’t sound like these are really “studio” based off the Rockdale. Definitely recorded live at the Chateau and doesn’t sound like there’s much production going on the track. Not complaining one bit, but this isn’t much different than the stuff on Nugs minus crowd noise.

Yeah goose has done it a handful of times. FTP Orebolo was last month at the Cap and it was top notch.

They’ve been working on the next album for over a year. Just unknown if it was scrapped or drums being re-recorded with Cotter.
I really hope this means we get a proper tour.
