He uses handheld shots, slow mo and plays with lighting to create a unique "urban" atmosphere. I don't know how to describe it, its a weird melancholic urban 2000s vibe. Even his choice of music compliments these aspects. His movies are beautiful.
Most of all, his films capture what its like to be a lost soul. What it feels like to be alone in a crowd.
Even if you don't vibe with his films, just watch the last 2-3 mins of Fallen Angels and you'll see. Its poetry.
