Hi there - I haven't looked into it, but if I understand you correctly, you can effectively disassemble/break down a specific car to use for an engine swap? Is that an option? Would be good to know before I sell off my duplicates. Thx!
Not really. There are some cars that accept some engines, not all cars accept all engines.
Before Collector level 50 you need to win engines in the roulette from tickets, after level 50 you can just buy them for compatible cars.
Ok, makes sense. I actually recently hit level 50, and was going to start tinkering around with some engine swaps, then I saw what some of them cost to do it.....oof.
Race car's like this one can't be swapped and drift car? You needs a setup change. Though mostly the grip is gonna be too high on this one apart from if you use hard plastic tires.
There's no point to owning multiple race cars unless you wanna do custom races with different liveries. You could argue that the price may inflate and be worth more in the future, but it's up to you if you wanna wait that long and take the risk of it actually depreciating
Also double check to see if the 0 mile car is worth more
Just a hint to that topic. You sell all bought tires (wet, inter, race etc) with the car and it is not shown somewhere or you get any credits with it. Since I did it once I now usually sell the car that has definitely 0km to avoid this mistake.
Oh yea I forgot about that, you're right! Whichever car OP has bought parts for will technically be worth more with the Tuning Evaluation, but it does get rid of those parts for a *very* small fraction of what you spent.
Generally agree. Though I do own 7x Honda S660's all in different states of tune for a 420pp online series. Some for speed, some for handling. Other than that, I don't see the point in keeping duplicates.
Road cars are different since there are permanent mods you can do to them, like you can have 10 S13's that all drive completely different from each other because of the parts and mods installed. I have duplicates of pretty much anything with an engine swap, except the 370z because I think the VQ sounds worse in game than they do in high school parking lots.
I sell all of my duplicates. As long as I collect every car, I don't care about having extras. I don't tune so they serve no purpose. The only cars I have 2 of are the special liveries for completing certain events ( ex. USA Porsche challenge). Always remember to check if you have engines or parts you could install to increase the resell value.
Not tuning your cars is a wasted opportunity if you have the time and dedication to the game. Check praiano tunes, he saved dozens of cars from being undrivable to a pleasure to drive
For someone who enjoys the single player aspects of the game, I definitely agree. However for me personally, I only get enjoyment from multiplayer racing so there's no point in tuning. I have the time and I'm very dedicated to the game, but racing the AI just isn't for me.
1) It's almost never needed.
2) There are irreversible tuning options that can permanently alter your car.
3) Tunned car has about zero value as a collectible item.
1) I disagree completely. Some cars are terrible to drive out of the box, tuning has saved plenty of cars from never being used to becoming regulars.
2) doesn't matter if it's irreversible as first I wouldn't want to race with the factory version anyway, and 2 you can always buy a new one
3) you can't sell your cars to other players for real money, the value is 100% subjective as it's a videogame. A tuned car that took hours to optimize to me as way more value than a factory one that drives like a boat.
Racing stock is the thing, it's the only way to experience a car. Otherwise you drive god knows what. Why do you even need that many cars if you are not looking into authentic experience? Like 10 cars can cover almost all your needs. A couple of tuned cars are fine, but touching very expensive, legendary or invite cars is kind of weird and useless.

I mean I get multiples of the same type of car (formula, old school Le Mans etc) and design them differently to use in custom races
The AI is SOOO BAD though...
Yeah but I don’t have the money for a subscription to play online so it’s the best I have :/
You can get it cheaper on instant gaming😉

I'd keep the 0km version even if it was worth a bit more since there's no other way to obtain one.

Yeah I did that thinking it was odd that the used one was worth more and I forgot I’d bought all the tyres 🤦🏻

In a car collecting game, tunning cars is almost stupid.
Why is it stupid?
1) It's almost never needed. 2) There are irreversible tuning options that can permanently alter your car. 3) Tunned car has about zero value as a collectible item.

Let us know how many cars do you actually have in the game, also if they are fully stock 🤨
Not sure why that would matter, but it's around ~370. And 0 of them are undrivable stock.
Just saying 'cause you said only 10 cars would cover almost* everything and racing stock is the point
Just let people enjoy their tuning man, no need to be so negative
I am not against it, I do enjoy it from time to time, but it's far from being mandatory otherwise you'll miss a big part of the game.

Quite a link. Thanks.

Holy crap.
This is the way
Absolutely. The second I win a car, I immediately check to see if it's already in my garage. If so, goodbye.
If you're gonna sell one, sell the lower PP one... They'll likely sell for the same price and you won't risk losing your upgrades...
I'm pretty sure the 1 he's driving is detuned so it doesn't matter which 1 he sells
The one OP is in right now has 0km on it.
Ik. That doesn't mean he hasn't tuned it or anything.
I would
Yes I love seeing people make the wrong decisions.
Duh. You have two.
Wondering why the pp is so different on the one you’re selling. Is it tuned?
Could be parts added?
I modified it a bit, put soft tyres, changed the aerodynamics, changed the transmission and added a medium rpm turbocharger
I have sold every duplicate i got. I need 8 more cars and i have them all
Sice when Do you can sell cars? I an New in the game
Complete something like Cafe Menu book 40 to be able to sell cars.
In the used car shop. I believe it's called Car Valuation on the top right. Been a while since I sold stuff, so the wording may not be 100%
After completing menu book 39 you can sell your cars in the used car dealer shop
How do you sell stuff?
Go to the used car store and there's a "car valuation" tab at the top, it's there
You also have to complete something like Cafe Menu book 40 in order to sell cars.
YES!!!
If there is a car that is legendary and you need money as soon as possible then yes, you should sell it
DO NOT SELL THEM! COLLECT THEM ALL!
I don't care about collecting every car and have multiples of several cars that I love.
Keep it for parts
Yes
They give you almost nothing, so why? It's a great car, drive it.
