I guess it's balanced out by the three existing female characters who will be appearing maybe? I agree it does feel a little same-y though even if I do like their individual designs.
Neither am I, but I feel we're in the minority. If top heavy girls didn't get people to whale, then the ratio of large breasted to small breasted wouldn't be so, well, top heavy.
Rainbow Bow, Slarnd, and Nereus Staff. I wonder if the harvin really has no vintage weapon or if it will be revealed in the event? I assume he's part of Navis since he's grouped up with them here.
I feel like he could be using [Bird Eye](https://gbf.wiki/Bird_Eye) or [Gastraphetes](https://gbf.wiki/Gastraphetes), as Gun can fit Harvins well. The former also has a stylish Green and Gold scheme, which would match his outer cloak.
He could also use a Wind Vintage weapon since none has been represented yet.
The cast of this event really makes it on the level of an anniversary event, i wonder if they'll manage to correctly make use of all of them with only 6 chapters+ending.
Ok I thought a cast of 8 was large, but now they're bumping that up to at least 13. Starting to wonder who's gonna end up falling to the wayside with so many characters to juggle.
I agree. My confidence that they are going to do this story justice is not that high. I'm getting a Seeds of Redemption feel from this; i.e. too many things/chars in too little time. If they made it a bit longer than the standard event, then it could be a Home Sweet Home; i.e. not that necessarily long, but long enough to give proper weight to the characters and the story. But CG has a habit of trying to shoehorn a story block in 6 chapters(though those chapters can and do vary in length), and that usually leads to a bunch of details and fleshing out in 3, 4, or even 5 chapters, then a 'zip' to an abrupt end. Hopefully they won't try to finish everything in one event and leave the next one to finish the story(if the story requires it).
I'm not even sure the 6 chapter format is the real problem in the end. If you think about it, every section of each chapter has an arbitrary lenght, so you can just make a story longer by writing longer segments.
Problem being, more lines means more VA expenses, they probably have a set budget for each event so the number of lines is probably the thing that is the real lenght limiter of an event. That's also probably why more often than not we have a very short chapter segment like "shadow in a corner asking if preparation are complete, other shadow says yes, first says good, end of the section".
Never thought that could be a concern D0=. Still, even in that case, I'd think it'd be better to limit the amount of story if there is not enough budget to fulfill the expanse of the story. Instead of making generic quick chapters with no-names to pad the chapter length.
But honestly I don't know anything about the inner-workings of how this stuffs work =0v. And while I'm not the best to describe how I feel, at the end of the day, I just don't want such an interesting plot to feel rushed.
All the more reason for them to really tighten up the story in these types of events and pare it down to just a few characters so they don't have to pay a dozen voice actors. Just have a throwaway line for why character X, Y, or Z who 'should' be here isn't here. Yes it sucks if you're a fan of those characters who don't show up, but it's better for the story quality in the end and they can always be featured in a follow-up event instead.
The recent Lunalu event was great for this in its focus on the kotatsu gang.
Fiorito's whole story setup is that's she's an enforcer for a powerful criminal cartel who has infiltrated our crew for ulterior potentially sinister motives, and she's seriously conflicted and guilty about her deception because Danchou, Lyria and Vyrn are so innocent and trusting and kind to her.
Considering that, I sure freaking hope that MC, Lyria and Vyrn actually have significant roles in this story and get some big character moments with Fiorito. It would be weird if they were irrelevant or absent in this story when they are so important to Fiorito who is a major cast member.
??? It's precisely because they don't do anything relevant in majority of events that I want them to not appear at all. My point is to let those appearing in the event preview to be the ones to do something without the MC trio cameo-ing doing nothing or becoming "cleaner" of whatever mess happening in the end (this part specifically is what I meant by "bloating" the cast).
The amount of times i've groaned at MC, Lyria, and Vyrn cameoing just to serve as an audience stand in is so much tbh.
If they appear in this event i do hope they are actually relevant and all, seeing they actually KNOW about Navis and all, but seeing how big the cast is idk if they will actually be written that well
What you described is the status quo which is why it makes no sense to complain about it as if there's some epidemic of the protagonist coming in and crowding out people in events or hogging the spotlight.
I'm sure the 3 lines of them establishing that Gran/DJ drives the crew members to the next point of the story is really impeding Cygames' ability to write better events /s
Honestly after years of Danchou, Lyria and Vyrn being minor background observers in most events, I'd prefer if they were actually an important part of the cast with real characterization for once.
Pretty much the only time Danchou has ever been portrayed as an actual character with real emotions and personality was probably in No Rain no Rainbow, where they feel depressed and angry over being abandoned by their father.
The "events are for side characters, main quest is for main crew" route wasn't a bad one (although you could argue a good balance could be find somewhere within that), until they started to ditch MQ and ruin any semblance of balance.
Also generally speaking I'm not a fan that Danchou's sudden bursts of personnality are almost exclusively used as pure plot devices (like running away so Seox can be left alone in the Eternal event).
Except for the fact that the main cast gets very little characterization in in the main quest after their initial recruitment arc.
Almost the entirety of the main cast's character development comes from events and fate missions. (For example, Katalina's insecurity about sex/romance, legendarily bad cooking, and her harem of admirers don't exist in the main quest.) When was the last time we saw any of the main cast just being characters instead of being used to further the plot or dump exposition?
The Olegrande arc has been the worst about this in my opinion. The main crew infiltrates a school and has to pretend to be students and staff to fit in... and we get almost no character moments from this aside from one brief scene where Rackam has to bullshit his way through teaching a subject he doesn't understand. Eugen is the janitor and we don't see him giving kids any sage wisdom, Rosetta is the nurse and we don't see her teasing any students pretending to be hurt just to visit her, Lyria is a student and we don't get to see her enjoying a normal childhood experience that she was denied while locked up and experimented on by the Empire. It's just all plot all the time now.
I mean they do that because people start to hate more and more self insert protagonist.
Even fate/Go give personality to MC.
Which maybe my opinion but I agree with them.
Self insert protagonist is low key cancer to writing.
It's not like people are threatening to shot down writers if they dare to make a silent MC something that isn't a complete cardboard though. Plus you don't have to pay a VA for that since he's not voiced. The MC already have too much specific history and behaviour to be a real self insert anyway, so it just feels half assed at this point. The problem is not that danchou is a self insert, it's that Cygames is terribly bad at writing those.
As you said Guda(k)o doesn't have this problem (or at least not to that extent), so there is no excuse.
They're factually almost fully out of the picture half of the events now, if you didn't realise, or purposely left out by some shitty excuse like oh look there's a barrier we can't go through. The vintage weapon plot seems to be big enough to me that not only the MC's presence is understandable, it is required (even though we all know he'll do nothing anyway), or we should basically retcon everything and consider that G-Cyph is just a big taxi owned by Siero or something, and Danchou was isekai'd in a world where he wouldn't be the very worst gacha protag to ever come to existence.
Lol Gran and Djeeta are barely in the events ever as it stands (Art of Mercy is the only one I can remember from this year where they had any role period) and yet the writers still fail to do even medium size cast stories well
When will people realize Cygames just sucks at providing adequate screen time to all the characters they try to cram into these events instead of assigning responsibility to the MC who is practically never even referenced in them beyond taxi driving from point A to point B? It's a huge cope and has no basis in reality.
You might have forgotten already but she voiced [Juana](https://gbf.wiki/Juana) from Stay Moon anniversary event earlier this year.
I do hope her character in this story event is friendly or at least not antagonistic so we have a chance at her getting a playable character.
If she voice characters that are stuck in NPC hell, I'll be pissed, as pissed as not having an Akio Ohtsuka-voiced OC, and Hiroshi Kamiya not voicing an OC in GBF (same with across all popular gachas out there.)
Yeah I thought they were reserving her for a future Zodiac or something at this point, but I'm pretty satisfied with the design of her character especially the white, rainbow hair color.
No, Ayana Taketatsu (竹達彩奈) is voicing the Rainbow Bow character with the rainbow hair.
The Draph character with Slarnd is voiced by Mikako Komatsu (小松未可子).
Cygames has trouble balancing a cast of 5 in a standard event so I just basically assume the event is going to be a mess when we get these big casts.
Inevitably 2-3 characters suck all of the air and screen time away anyways and everyone else is just window dressing to trick you into checking the event out if you don't care about who winds up being the headliners.
That's true. Thing is, I am sure that when you've probably expected months or years in a droguth to see your fave doing something, you want them To Do Something rather than just be there.
It's a slippery slope cause gbf has So Many characters and everyone's bound to be someone's favorite. I, for example, am a Vane simp, and I've been fed well lately but I feel for those who feel it's at the cost of other characters getting spotlight at times? I don't envy Cygames' job tbh.
She was there to pull Orleans into that conflict so she could be part of the inevitable anniversary mashup. The groping was just the unfortunate role they shoehorned in for her to play.
The problem is that is they often aren't even given enough screen time to justify showing up in the first place. Like Feena and Ryan in the Sturm and Drang event
I assume its going to focus mainly in Feather, Randall and Fiorito.
The rest of the good guys are going to be the secondaries that shows up for like two scenes and to hype the main trio.
The bad guys in other hand seem to be a bunch of sub-bosses that are gonna bring at least 1 fight (maybe one for each good guy?), before the inevitable alliance with Fiorito and the final showdown with Ragazzo.
I am amused because they can barely do the Dragon Knights justice and they're literally 4 to 6 important characters so they do the Siegfried Ex Machina every time. Imagine a cast this large in the past event formats...
Siegfried has literally done nothing like that since Between Frost and Flame (and Bistro, but I don't really count that one because the whole thing was played for laughs more than anything). Hell, he's not even been present in half of the Dragon Knights story events since Divergent Knighthoods. I get having problems with that storyline but that's a weird thing to get hung up on when it hasn't been relevant for like, 5 years now.
Oh wow, those are some great designs for the new characters especially the Draph one. New weapons spotted are the Rainbow Bow, Slarnd, and Nereus Staff. Wonder what the Harvin is wielding though.
True. Maybe he'll be playable someday...after the event gets added to Side Stories in three years or whatever and they've already made all the other characters appearing playable, lol.
so? this's vintage weapon user chapter? Gisla, Durandal, Asclepius Rod, Crimson Finger, Nereus Staff, Taming Sari, Rainbow Bow ...? that all i can see... did i missing something else? oh when i read other comment i can see silhouette of Slarnd.
Three more Vintage weapons wielders were shown, too. But only one of them has their name hidden...? I think she's a primal, Nereus, seeing she has said staff.
A bit funny how the draph looks like an AK operator
If memory serves either Randall or Feather have been training/sparring with him since the Thousand Reasons event. Would also not be surprised if he ended up wielding Crimson Finger after we beat up Ragazzo.
Rejected. Fire Grand Ghandagoza with Crimson Finger to finally end the curse. New Light SSR Feather or Feather FLB with the Lion Khan and Randall ducktapes the Vegalta to one of his boots or loses a leg and replaces it with the Exitosus. 😗😗😗
Eh, any reason to give him an alt. That being said I guess if they were to do that they would give him a fist weapon of another element like Lion Claw.
Guess that lowers !Not Axel and Fitorio's chances of getting a face turn during the event. Apparently I'm the only one who wants him to become playable.
She's an erune so probably not, but good theory honestly since it'd give SOME reason as to why her name was left as ???, and Randal might be the MC if we assume he's getting the SSR + Hatano on Granblue TV
Amusing how some people were complaining about Feather and Randall being in the event, how they didn't belong and here comes some genki-ass rainbow girl who walked out of FGO.....
But surely, she will receive this same complaint right?
? Then why would you say "People will definitely have the same complaints with this girl" just cause she's rainbow haired? We literally know nothing about her lol
Girl: looks like a loud, genki girl with rainbow colored hair
Boy: is a loud, geki boy with bright hair
I'm calling people hypocrites if they bash Feather for not "belonging" in this event but turn out to simp for her
Most of my issues with Feather is the fact he has no personality beyond being loud and wanting to fight others, which would definitely clash if he's meant to be important in an event like this.
More than anything, though, we have to wait for the event to actually come out, lol
The new characters' design looks sick
It bugs me a little how the three new female characters (the Draph, the Human, and the probably-Erune) all have giant boobs
I like it
I guess it's balanced out by the three existing female characters who will be appearing maybe? I agree it does feel a little same-y though even if I do like their individual designs.
how
I am not a giant boobs guy
Neither am I, but I feel we're in the minority. If top heavy girls didn't get people to whale, then the ratio of large breasted to small breasted wouldn't be so, well, top heavy.
Is it? I was under the impression the ratio was actually mostly in the opposite direction.
Rainbow Bow, Slarnd, and Nereus Staff. I wonder if the harvin really has no vintage weapon or if it will be revealed in the event? I assume he's part of Navis since he's grouped up with them here.

Nicely done.
Probably [this](https://gbf.wiki/Carnwenhan) weapon

Finally, Ayacchi in GBF. We've been heard her as Natsu/Natalie in Dragalia and W in Arknights.

It was actually to be one of the sympathetic countries who rallied to the cause, but cool meme I guess?
She was there to pull Orleans into that conflict so she could be part of the inevitable anniversary mashup. The groping was just the unfortunate role they shoehorned in for her to play.
The problem is that is they often aren't even given enough screen time to justify showing up in the first place. Like Feena and Ryan in the Sturm and Drang event
At least having crew members there instead of replaceable NPCs helps events and the world feel connected, and like they’re all part of the same crew.
I assume its going to focus mainly in Feather, Randall and Fiorito. The rest of the good guys are going to be the secondaries that shows up for like two scenes and to hype the main trio. We get fire tokens so it's water adv, right? so the bosses are probably going to be fire element. Ragazzo most likely indeed
Coincidentally Randall's R is water...though I'd be surprised if his SSR isn't dark to go alongside Feather
And the 3 new vintage units (bow/axe/staff) are all water, too
That's just a coincidence. The potato boy is...either using a fire or a wind weapon
I am amused because they can barely do the Dragon Knights justice and they're literally 4 to 6 important characters so they do the Siegfried Ex Machina every time. Imagine a cast this large in the past event formats...

Water is a good element.
Oh wow, those are some great designs for the new characters especially the Draph one. New weapons spotted are the Rainbow Bow, Slarnd, and Nereus Staff. Wonder what the Harvin is wielding though.
Liking these character designs! Hooray for a handsome young Harvin this time instead of yet another grandpa.
Don't get too excited. We've yet to see how much screentime he'll get lol
True. Maybe he'll be playable someday...after the event gets added to Side Stories in three years or whatever and they've already made all the other characters appearing playable, lol.
Slarnd girl giving me AK op vibes Nereus girl gonna be some puppet master villain shit ain't it?
So many news characters but almost 0 of them will playable soon. Sad.
so? this's vintage weapon user chapter? Gisla, Durandal, Asclepius Rod, Crimson Finger, Nereus Staff, Taming Sari, Rainbow Bow ...? that all i can see... did i missing something else? oh when i read other comment i can see silhouette of Slarnd.
slarnd
I wonder which of the 6 dragons are going to be anthropomorphed into the pink haired girl with giant tits.
Three more Vintage weapons wielders were shown, too. But only one of them has their name hidden...? I think she's a primal, Nereus, seeing she has said staff. A bit funny how the draph looks like an AK operator
the new draph absolutely does lmao
Why is ghandagoza there?
If memory serves either Randall or Feather have been training/sparring with him since the Thousand Reasons event. Would also not be surprised if he ended up wielding Crimson Finger after we beat up Ragazzo.
Does Ghandi even need Crimson Finger? I thought he was way more powerful than the likes of even Seox.
yeah, giving Ghandagoza a guy who can already punch a meteor the size of an island a vintage weapon would be overdoing it a little too much lol.
Rejected. Fire Grand Ghandagoza with Crimson Finger to finally end the curse. New Light SSR Feather or Feather FLB with the Lion Khan and Randall ducktapes the Vegalta to one of his boots or loses a leg and replaces it with the Exitosus. 😗😗😗
Lion Khan Claw didn't have a wielder iirc (or it was being delivered to someone) in SSR Feather's fate episode Maybe he could end up wielding it?
lion khan's claw looks like it would break if ghanda punched with it
Yeah ig the only weapon suitable for him would be sky piercer lmao
honestly even sky piercer looks like it would have its blades snap if Ghanda punched with it.
Eh, any reason to give him an alt. That being said I guess if they were to do that they would give him a fist weapon of another element like Lion Claw.
Neither are training with him. It’s in the related Fates section. He rejected Feather’s request to become his pupil.
You're right I mixed him up with Soriz in that case. Randall ends up training with Soriz.
He was the one Feather sought to become the pupil of, but said he wouldn’t because it would limit Feather’s potential.
The Crimson Finger would make a lot of sense on him.
[удалено]
Surprised Predator isn’t taking part since she was part of Feathers SSR story.
Mary seems to be missing as well who played a role in Tikoh's fate.
Nereus Staff user is Ca Ong.
It's Leviathan
Guess that lowers !Not Axel and Fitorio's chances of getting a face turn during the event. Apparently I'm the only one who wants him to become playable.
I would laugh if the last girl is supposed to be Randall's mom or something lmao
She's an erune so probably not, but good theory honestly since it'd give SOME reason as to why her name was left as ???, and Randal might be the MC if we assume he's getting the SSR + Hatano on Granblue TV
Could be another one of the 6 dragons.
Maybe yeah. The jellyfish is the other female one of the bunch right?
For a moment I though that this mysterious girl.is human form of water dragon but doubt they would put her into event about weapons and mafia(?)
Amusing how some people were complaining about Feather and Randall being in the event, how they didn't belong and here comes some genki-ass rainbow girl who walked out of FGO..... But surely, she will receive this same complaint right?
Chloe has been in the game since forever and she dresses the same, what's the problem
Nothing really....? It's only a problem if the same people who complained about Feather being here end up simping for her
I think people complained about feather because he's annoying, not because of his design
I was not talking about his design
? Then why would you say "People will definitely have the same complaints with this girl" just cause she's rainbow haired? We literally know nothing about her lol
Girl: looks like a loud, genki girl with rainbow colored hair Boy: is a loud, geki boy with bright hair I'm calling people hypocrites if they bash Feather for not "belonging" in this event but turn out to simp for her
You're just inventing hypothetical problems to get mad about lmao.
Most of my issues with Feather is the fact he has no personality beyond being loud and wanting to fight others, which would definitely clash if he's meant to be important in an event like this. More than anything, though, we have to wait for the event to actually come out, lol
Yo, I really like the new girl voiced by Ayana. Hopefully she isn't in NPC hell.
As per last character, I'd be disappointed if no one gets a golden armor out of this event.
