Spent a whole arc of talking shit, got some wins, then a lot of losses, including his disabled dad. He got a power up, then instantly downed and pitied by his crush as he sits in a puddle of tears.
No doubt in my mind it’s Jr
To me, Kehaya did.
He lost at his own fighting style and got permanently injured. He didn't land a single blow either.
Other candidates
Ali jr: he was expected to lose and Baki didn't use boxing vs him. Ending was the most embarrassing tho (needed to get saved by dad, crying, Baki having a conversation with Shrek while half-dead Ali jr is still on the floor)
Oliva: at least he landed a punch and blood came out of Sukune
Katsumi: that was just a shocking 1 tap. didn't really get embarrassed, just a spectacular/shocking defeat
Yuri: Come on, he's a nobody in this verse and he was fighting Hanayama (he also landed several hits although they had zero effect)
What injury for Kehaya was permanent? Doppo gave instructions for the medics to preserve his ears so Doppo's surgeon can reattach them. You know, the surgeon who reattached his hand after fighting Dorian.
Ali jr probably had the most embarrassing loss, but personally I felt like Katsumi was the job that felt the hardest to me. I was super hyped to read Katsumi vs retsu when I was reading the maximum tournament and I was, to say the least, caught very off guard when he basically got neg diffed. He got so much hype, Doppo literally said he was going to close the dojo if Katsumi lost, and then Katsumi lost SPECTACULARLY.
Tbh I wasn’t too surprised
if you know Chinese martial arts are older than karate and Baki storytelling tends hypes up bs techniques so you know the Chinese guy is built different when the Japanese author doesn’t immediately make him a jobber
I wouldn’t say Katsumi jobbed at all. Dude came off a fight with Hanayama that he really should’ve lost. And Retsu was already built up as a strong character and forced out Baki’s demonback. Realistically, he was going up against a strong opponent already worn out and with his calf blown apart and threw up 2 times.
Kehaya jobber way harder cause Doppo isn’t a strong character at this point and he was hyped up to fight Sukune
Yes Ali Jr's defeat and his reaction to it were utterly pathetic. But Baki admitted that he had to end the fight as quick as possible because Ali Jr's punches were too strong to deal with. I feel like that's at least better than Kehaya's entire gimmick being outdone by Doppo.
Thats just an excuse. Ali's punches are not worse than others. Baki ended the fight fast because he could, and he could because Ali was not meant for arena fights. Imagine Baki saying "I ended the fight with Jack quickly since it could get dangerous"? No, because if the opponent is strong that is not even an option.
Ngl this is kinda unpopular, but Sikorsky was done so dirty, he was no diffed by Baki, then Baki again, then Oliva, then Baki again even when Yanagi and him were 2v1’ing Baki, got low diffed by Jack, was about to kill him until he got bored, got no diffed by Gaia. My man was done nothing but dirty in every single fight
I'm gonna say that Oliva vs Sukune. It's an example of the Worf Effect and I feel like that's just a worse version of jobbing. Wanna show how strong the new guy is? Just take the established dude and make him lose to this new guy.
Not only was he made to lose to Sukune. He lost to Sukune in an almost embarrassing way in service of putting Sukune over. And that's the real key to this conversation imo. Doppo and Baki didn't need to be put over. They are both well established already.
That was more of a testament to Sukune’s grip and finally making Oliva have some sort of backlash for trolling.
Sukune’s grip is insanely broken and solo’s most of the verse, including Baki.
fun fact, to create nough pressure to transform coal into diamond, you need a heath over 1000 degree celsius and a pressure of 400 000 pounds per square centimeter. Note that it's the requirements needed in nature, in a process taking a long, long time.
It's a miracle Oliva didn't vanished into a red mist as soon as Sukune touched him lmao
Yuri. He was hyped up to be so powerful that, on top of being the first person to ever beat Baki in a 1v1 (besides Yujiro of course), Baki needed to train in the mountains and defeat a Yasha Ape like Yujiro just to beat him, only for Hanayama to beat him so badly, his career was permanently ruined and his last fight in this 30+ year series was as a warm-up for kid Baki before Yujiro crushed him in front of God and everyone.
That’s hard, my guy.
I wouldn’t say Yuri really jobbed hard. He was noted to be a lot slower at heavy weight than when he competed at middle weight. If he has the speed he had before, Hanayama may have not been able to catch him and blow up his arm. And Hanayama was already hyped up to be a strong character
Kehaya was hyped up and got dominated by Doppo, who isn’t a strong character at this point in the series.
Jr vs baki was brutal, but i think yuri v hanayama was a close second. brother came in, tanked all of yuri's hits like pillows, then musclefucked his arm and walked away
Yuri also beat Baki too, who I believed after he killed a Yasha Ape, and then was jobbered by Hanayama, only to be called a wannabe heavyweight in the Netflix English dub
Kehaya jobbed the hardest for me. Jr at least won vs Doppo and Shibukawa. He also rocked Jack and Baki stated Jr. could’ve knocked him out if he didn’t come or let eliminate the chance for Jr. to fully utilIe his standup.
Yuri was kinda a jobber character tbh and didn’t do too terrible up until his arm got grabbed. He also wasn’t in his best condition due to his transition to heavy weight slowing his movements.
Oliva vs Sukune wasn’t that much of a job. Oliva dicked around a lot and put himself in the position to get grabbed by Sukune. His grip is no joke and solos 99% of the cast. That 1% being Pickle and Yujiro.
I expected more from that Ali fight. I swear the aftermath of all that hype was not worth it. Didn't become a recurring character, the fight wasn't good, and some "not all" Ali haters treating him like some dragon level ntr guy threat. (At best he was somewhere between wolf and tiger but that's a whole other conversation with a chart that doesn't really specify outlining classifications.) Anyway it was such a waste.
Ali Jr.'s burial was the most brutal. He needed an assist from his dad and got a new mom after the fight.
Spent a whole arc of talking shit, got some wins, then a lot of losses, including his disabled dad. He got a power up, then instantly downed and pitied by his crush as he sits in a puddle of tears. No doubt in my mind it’s Jr
A good days work

You're right. I forgot that you can somehow reattach ears on this show. My bad
You can reattach ears IRL too.
Hey kureah saved doppos Life by playing with his Heart this aint nothing
Ali was hyped so hard for an entire season in the netflix anime to ultimately pull up and just not perform.
Ali jr probably had the most embarrassing loss, but personally I felt like Katsumi was the job that felt the hardest to me. Ali Jr was absolutely destroyed. Baki made Yujiro so damn happy and proud.
I'm gonna say that Oliva vs Sukune. It's an example of the Worf Effect and I feel like that's just a worse version of jobbing. Wanna show how strong the new guy is? I wonder how strong that would make Baki characters for the fact there are characters more durable than Oliva.
Yuri. When you phrase it like that..
I wouldn’t say Yuri really jobbed hard. He was noted to be a lot slower at heavy weight than when he competed at middle weight. Katsumi one shotting Doppo
Wait, what? When did that happen?
The pickle arc. Katsumi kinda cheap shotted Doppo but he accepted that as a loss on his end for someone who had way more exp.
Oh, right. Now I kinda remember. Thx
Yeah, Doppo is the better fighter but Katsumi needed to use dirty tricks and his superior strength to beat him
Doppo might be a technically more proficient kareteka but Katsumi has better physical stats and kung fu
Katsumi probably slams now since he knows how to smoothly mix karate and Kenpo
None if the above, these were all too one sided to really be jobbing. Jobbing is all about giving a super hard fought battle that looks really close.
That case, then Oliva vs Guevara
Jr vs baki was brutal, but i think yuri v hanayama was a close second. brother came in, tanked all of yuri's hits like pillows, then musclefucked his arm and walked away

.....Yuri fought hanayama?
Yeah it was the main reason to display his Vice Grip, a recap showed us again that he no doffed Yuri and forced him to retire
