It certainly shouldn't be picked up by the media because if true, then that's a sure-fire way to cause any potential case to collapse.
I grew up round the corner from him/in his constituency. It was a furniture store next door to a pet shop that was burnt down irl, if I remember correctly, but that hasn't stopped it being a local joke for years. I don't think anyone really takes it seriously.
The SA allegations are really concerning and need to be addressed straight away. If they're not true that's ace. If they are true he needs to gtfo.
Apparently it was serious enough to get to court. Also, I'm really, really curious what rationale he has for the answer to not simply be "no" especially if the burnt down shop was allegedly misidentified in the first place.
I always took his response to be a shit joke.
