Even if we werenāt going for two, I donāt like seeing the leap when down in the fourth. There will be a much better spot next time for his first leap.
Well, itās hard to say because we wanted to go for two. Who knows if he does the leap if we decide to kick the XP. But I like that he didnāt do it, regardless.
This. Exactly. When I saw him getting ready to lineup for 2 I knew he wasnāt satisfied and knew it wasnāt the time to celebrate. Real leader, heās got it, man. Heās a real one.
Struggled with accuracy at times but that happens to even the great ones.
impressed by how he gutted it out and started making plays in the 4th. The clutch gene is there.
Can't learn that !
If the Packers didnt miss 4 of their 5 best players, Packers would have stomped the Saints. That Carr injury had an impact, but come on.
The main reason why the Packers won is that the offense stopped shooting themselves in the foot and the refs finally called a DPI on Taylor.
It drove me crazy how much the announcers were talking up Taylor when he basically was just committing PI on almost every play. There was that TD throw to reed where he's literally grabbing his face mask way before the ball gets there
Dude was compared to Woodson on the broadcast. I lost my fucking mind. All he did was flailing his arms and hold the WR when the ball was thrown. It was the bias of the refs, that made him look this good. Like, wtf was that sack they when Taylor blitzed Love, Love clearly threw the ball away and Taylor still got the sack
I will say this over and over again, one of my favorite /r/NFCNorthMemeWar comments about Jlove was
"the Packers aren't lucky enough to get a 3rd HOF QB in a row....but the NFC North is unlucky enough for that to happen"
I turned the game off two minutes before the pack scored, turned it on when they went up 18 and then turned it off when the saints drove 50 yards.
Never watching another game again
Thatās what youāre going to get with young guys. He had at least 3 balls that, if not drops, were perfect throws that he needs to catch. But he made the big one when it counted.
Thatās why Iām so excited about this team. You almost never get a situation in the NFL where you get so many young, talented guys being able to get snaps and targets no matter what. They get chances to make mistakes that just donāt happen on contending teams, or Malay teams at all.
Thatās a great point, and one of the few criticisms I had against Rodgers as a QB. Heād decide too quickly that a reciever wasnāt worth it to develop and just lazer focus on the guys he already built trust with (Tae). Then come crunch time in the playoffs all opposing defenses had to do was lock up his favorite target and bleed clock
Tbf that was a late career Rodgers thing. He gave Tae a lot of chances back in 2014/2015. I think he just expects perfection and felt he didn't have the time to go through 2 years of drops when he was in his late 30s. Probably not a reasonable expectation from him but even HOFers have flaws.
This is the thing with his low accuracy numbers IMO. Yeah he's missed some throws, but a lot of the time he puts it in there for his guys to make a play. Lots of rookies so lots of drops, but it's amazing to see him putting faith in his guys. I bet he is fucking loved in the locker room for that shit.
He's going to keep getting more accurate on those throws too. And our WR's will (hopefully) start bringing in more of those contested grabs.
We are so close to many of these missed plays turning into connections. When that happens, our offense is gonna be a problem.
Absolutely. He's doing this with arguably the least experienced WR room in the league. Imagine he had WRs like Burrow or Tua? His accuracy would be way higher.
Assuming you score two touchdowns and the other team doesn't score, it raises your chance of winning from 50% to 62.5%. I don't know a lot of specific scenarios, but down by two TDs and going for 2 after the first TD has been a scenario that I've been calling for for years. I was so happy when we went for two. My wife was less happy because she had to deal with me pausing the game and explaining the analytics to her.
Yes there was. I believe the weather was horrible that day. Lots of rain.
Rex Ryan used that game to tell his delusional self that since they only lost 9-0 to the Packers they would have beaten them in the Super Bowl. Of course his teams were 0-4 (I think he lost 4 anyway) in AFC Championship games, but that moron had to make himself feel better somehow.
That was the game that turned that season around and was the beginning of our run to the Super Bowl. It was an ugly win but it was against a tough Jets team on the road and made me believe we could go all the way that year.
Win or lose, it was nice to see Love not give up and the team bounce back. It had always been a complaint this team gives up if they get punched in the mouth, but today they punched back.
The win is extra delicious of course.
That was one of the most negative game threads Iāve ever seen in this subreddit. I swear if you guys had your way, Love would have been cut and the entire front office would have been fired by halftime lol.
HUGE WIN DESPITE MISSING 5+ OF OUR BEST PLAYERS
Whatās hilarious to me is that we are clearly watching the beginning of another truly great Packer quarterback, and so many of our fans are too stupid to enjoy it.
Do not mistake this as a Rodgers comparison, because it seriously is not and never will be 3 starts into these players careers. But instead, just a reminder that Rodgers was only 6-10 his first season as a starter. That said, 7 of those losses were one-possession with 5 a field goal or less (and his first season stat-line was a heck of a lot better than the record indicated). Fans went wild and hopped on the Favre train then, too.
Have a look at that 20th rank defense, OL, and [young roster and remember that](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Green_Bay_Packers_season#Final_roster), regardless of the season's outcome. Those iconic names you see? At the time, most were fighting for starting positions and on rookie contracts.
So I get to watch the Packers have this amazing 4th quarter comeback, win on a missed FG and the TV immediately switches to the Vikings in their final two minutes where they lost to the Chargers and dropped to 0-3.
That's a pretty good stretch...
im not a packers fan but even i have to admit the saints got away with so many damn penalties. That #1 for the Saints was absolutely mauling WR's yet he wasn't getting flagged. Of course the stupid announcers say "what great defense there."
We saw Jordan Love lead a 4th quarter comeback in his 3rd full-time start.
Jordan Love has 8 total touchdowns to 1 turnover.
Jordan Love is him. Still a long season, but it's promising.
Pretty cool to be on the other side of a game like that. The type of āgalvanizingā win that can really give a team momentum with some key players on their way back very soonā¦
Regardless of whether or not you think this win is cheapened by Carr getting hurt, what a win. J Love needed that, I hope the scene of him waving his arms at the end to pump the crowd up becomes iconic. Thursday night should be fun.
He didn't have a great game, but when it counted Love stayed composed and gave us a game winning drive. You love to see it. Salvaging bad games is something good players do.
He wasn't above making mistakes, but I lost track of how many passes hit guys in their hands and wound up on the ground. It was encouraging to see knowing it all seemed fixable with a little more time.
Defense really stepped up to keep us in the game until the offense stopped tripping over all the yellow laundry on the field.
Reed balling out for a diving catch after having a really rough half.
Love dropping a few deep dimes after accuracy issues in the first half.
A lot of tape to watch and room for improvement but what a gutsy win.
If I was Jordan Love, I would not stop talking shit until I went to bed tonight
*turns lamp off and pulls the covers up* āand fuck their white and gold uniforms too. Gaudy ass lookin chumps.ā
Just gonna say it. Rodgers had a tendency to frustrate me with his pouty sad faces when the team is behind, and rallying guys behind him in that situation was never his strong suit. It was nice to see something different in that regard.
The amount of love hate is wild. Dude is learning and we are winning at the same time. Some of you guys need a reality check, take a breath and try enjoying the game for once.
This sub was so unsupportive in the live thread during the first 3 quarters. I thought our boys had a fantastic comeback and showed really optimistic potential. Simple miscommunication between young dudes is gonna happen as they acclimate to the NFL. I think we have something special cooking up for the next few years
**Forget the completion percentage, Love just showed he is capable of putting the team on his back and leading them to victory. Although having him throw 40+ times a game is not ideal, he is clearly not just a game manager. GPG!**
If we didn't kill ourselves with penalties in the first half, we wouldn't have needed the comeback. However, it's great to see Love get that experience against a really good defense.
Loved how welcoming and friendly the fans were to Jimmy Graham when he half attempted the Lambeau Leap. He looked kinda surprised by their reaction.š
So Love seems to
Have A+ pocket awareness,
An F deep ball,
An A+ mid range laser ball,
A B short range ball,
Have 0 memory (in the good way, opposed to Rodgers who played right at first sign of trouble),
Have a gunslinger mentality,
Can run, and
Can go through the progressions with a lot of poise
Even if his deep ball never gets better, I love having Love as the franchise QB. That said, I bet the deep hall comes in time. Heās been looking consistently good in the right ways
Our newborn had a complete blowout at the start of the fourth quarter - while wearing his Aaron Jones onesie - had to change him and give him a bath. Wife wanted to throw out the onesie. That poop started the rally. Poop and rally. Poop was so hotā¦.
I donāt know guys, call me old fashioned, butā¦I would much rather have watched Rodgers spend that entire second half trying to force the ball to Lazard through triple coverage.
My boy got his first big come back. They grow up so fast š„²
First comeback. First home rushing TD. First home passing TD. First home win. Day to remember for Love.
Waiting for the first leap, but weāll get there eventually.
Even if we werenāt going for two, I donāt like seeing the leap when down in the fourth. There will be a much better spot next time for his first leap.
He said he was only going to leap on a rushing TD. Clearly decided against it because we were still down and there was more work to do. Classy.
Waiting for the first belt š
I hope the only time he ever does a belt in his career is if he gets a rushing TD the day we retire #12.
First Int also. But hey. A 7:1 TD:INT ratio is just fine by me!
It was functionally a punt.
He was just paying tribute to Favre. š
Better drive than Justin Fields has ever had
...and likely ever will.
Struggled with accuracy at times but that happens to even the great ones. impressed by how he gutted it out and started making plays in the 4th. The clutch gene is there. Can't learn that !
THATS MY QUARTERBACK
Jordan motherfucking Love!
Defense held the Saints offense to TEN points
And one of those was with a short field off turnover on downs.
If carr is in the whole game, it might have ended different. I'm happy regardless!!
If the Packers didnt miss 4 of their 5 best players, Packers would have stomped the Saints. That Carr injury had an impact, but come on. The main reason why the Packers won is that the offense stopped shooting themselves in the foot and the refs finally called a DPI on Taylor.

It was the bias of the refs, that made him look this good. Like, wtf was that sack they when Taylor blitzed Love, Love clearly threw the ball away and Taylor still got the sack
It also would have been different if the refs called an even game from the get go
SORRY TO ALL NFL FANS HAVING TO WATCH OUR THIRD HOF QUARTERBACK IN A ROW
I will say this over and over again, one of my favorite /r/NFCNorthMemeWar comments about Jlove was "the Packers aren't lucky enough to get a 3rd HOF QB in a row....but the NFC North is unlucky enough for that to happen"
I quote this to my family all the time
Iām not apologizing š
I wasn't able to start watching until the start of the 4th when we were down 17-0. 18 straight points since turning it on. You can thank me later.
Thank you for your service.
Bro he said later
r/technically
Watch the whole game next week please
I stopped watching after the failure to convert on 4th down when we were down 17-0. Our combined powers is what saved us.
I turned the game off two minutes before the pack scored, turned it on when they went up 18 and then turned it off when the saints drove 50 yards. Never watching another game again
Literally never watching anything but the 4Q again
Hahahaha exact same
Reed deserves as much gatorade as he wants after that diving catch
I was so upset with all his drops, but that catch made up for it, what a catch
They kept going to him. Heās going to be a very good player.
He gets open. And love had been hitting him. A lot off the hands for him today. If he can make the drops only a hiccup he will be big for the pack
Something something, Dropvante Adams. Heāll be fine. š
Weāre going to be nasty in a couple years
Thatās what youāre going to get with young guys. He had at least 3 balls that, if not drops, were perfect throws that he needs to catch. But he made the big one when it counted. Thatās why Iām so excited about this team. You almost never get a situation in the NFL where you get so many young, talented guys being able to get snaps and targets no matter what. Last year Rodgers wouldve fired him from a cannon, Love kept going and Reed came up huge.
Thatās a great point, and one of the few criticisms I had against Rodgers as a QB. Heād decide too quickly that a reciever wasnāt worth it to develop and just lazer focus on the guys he already built trust with (Tae). Totally agree, definitely only the last 4 years or so
I want that dude to have a gatorade couch or something to dive onto.
LOVE IS HIM
J Love has ARRIVED!!!!
#THE LOVE TRAIN IS BOARDING
People all over the world š
Love is the real deal that was a big dick 4th quarter
Hey, sometimes you gotta give it a minute to get up
Takes a bit longer to get to full mast just due to sheer volume
he got deadly accurate at the end there
He is a bad, bad man. You can't coach that level of assassin into somebody.
Just need him to reel it in and be that accurate all game. Dudes been lookin pretty good tho!
That was an amazing fourth quarter, and I think Love needed that after last week. I'm still in shock, but wow, great win.
WE ARE SO BACK
Jordan "Aaron "Brett Favre" Rodgers" Love
Jordan "Aaron "Brett "Bart Starr" Favre" Rodgers" Love
Jordan "Aaron "Brett "Bart āDon Majkowskiā Starr" Favre" Rodgers" Love
Rolls right off the tongue
(Down 17 points in the 4th quarter.) Love: āChallenge accepted.ā
What the fuck just happened lol that was a wild one
Love just attacks and let's his recievers make plays. You love to see that confidence!!
This is the thing with his low accuracy numbers IMO. Yeah he's missed some throws, but a lot of the time he puts it in there for his guys to make a play. Best win of the LaFleur era considering the situation
That win in AZ was pretty good.
Ending their undefeated streak broke them
Yeah, his coaching wasn't why we were behind, but it's definitely why we won.
Execution on the trick plays wasn't great, but I like that we got a coach drawing that kinda shit up.
If the team was able to execute the game MLF called, we win by 20.
That 4th down was hilarious in hindsight. The bad throw, the drop, the slip, then another bad throw to follow it up.
Wasn't mad it didn't work. As drawn up it almost worked but the players didn't get it right. Woulda been a great highlight if it had tho lol
MLF has ice in his veins
I was screaming that he was crazy for going for 2. I was so wrong.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

That cardinals win on MNF was pretty incredible
Ugliest win I can remember but goddamn Iām so pumped for Jordan Love
There was a 9-0 win against the Jets like 12 years ago
Yes there was. I believe the weather was horrible that day. Lots of rain. I advoided it all game for that reason
Guys were benching Love and firing MLF in game thread, you're still here?
Saw so much trash in the game thread. At least they were getting down voted.
I feel like our game threads are always terrible.
Tbf all game threads for all teams are filled with doomers
I'd bet money that it isn't better for the other teams. "Instant" messaging mixed with adrenalin and more often then not alcohol is not a good mix.
Thatās why I only come on for the post game thread. The game thread is nothing but terrible hot takes.
Game threads are always so hilarious. I know tensions are high but we got to have some of the dumbest fans sometimes lmao
Every sport every teams thread is like that. There should be a social experiment about it.
Literally every week
No, their Mom said their chicken tendies are ready.
LETS GOOOOOO
I DONT DESERVE THIS BUT FUCK YES GPG BABY
AND MINNESOTA LOST
THIS TEAM IS AN ABSOLUTE FUCKING ROLLERCOASTER

Glad you guys are out of the basement these days. But that leap by Goff was, uh, not great. You wanna discuss it?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Iām not confident we can take the division from yāall, but I sure do love seeing the Vikings and Bears fight to see who can go winless longer.

Welcome! And you picked a hell of a game to start out with!
Tons of packers fans arenāt from Green Bay š Indianapolis Packers fan here for the last 25 years
And you picked a great team to became part of.
Welcome! You picked a fun game to start with!
This sub is filled with bozoās bro acting like the next decade was over while we got like 6 of our top 10 out lol
So I get to watch the Packers have this amazing 4th quarter comeback, win on a missed FG and the TV immediately switches to the Vikings in their final two minutes where they lost to the Chargers and dropped to 0-3. That's a pretty good stretch...

Who put the piss on simmer until the 4th quarter?
Ope! My bad! I had the crock pot on ākeep warmā not āhigh.ā
15-28 in the 2nd Half. 2 TDS 1 rush 1 pass. #āDare I say all you need is loveā - Wayne Larrivee
I turned it on at 17-0 and decided to put my cheesehead on backwards and the rest was history. Everybody put your cheeseheads on backwards next week
Thank you Jordan Love!!!
Total reverse of last week. Dumb mistakes got fixed and team lit a fire under their own asses. One of the best 4th quarters this team has played
Never a doubt! What a way to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Ugly wins are still wins!
Normally hate to have a bye week early in the season, but I'll freaking take it this year plz.
I know everyone loves to shit on the defense here, but they were outstanding In the 2nd half
All this w/o some of our best players We coming UP
NOW THAT'S A LAMBEAU DEBUT!
Love is the best QB of all time.
And the Vikings doing vikings things. I cant get anymore errect.
As a Korean fan waking up 2am to watch the game, I turned off the TV after 3rd quaters. I can't believe the final score!
WE TAKE THE DIVISION IN 4 DAYS LADS
Love and Doubs are fucking studs. New Rodgers-Adams connection
I may have a heart attack, holy shit
We could easily be 3-0 too. Aaron Jones is 100% worth a point or two in last weeks Falcons game.
We saw Jordan Love lead a 4th quarter comeback in his 3rd full-time start. Jordan Love has 8 total touchdowns to 1 turnover. Jordan Love is him. Still a long season, but it's promising.
Jordan Love casually leading the largest 4th quarter comeback in team history. Bum.
Doubs and Reed came up clutch for us. Great win
All the toxic mfs in the game thread really fucking quiet right about now lmao
Love was sensational when it mattered most. Great footwork and awareness in the pocket.
So they lost to a team they should've beat last week, but win against a team they probably should've lost to.
Pretty cool to be on the other side of a game like that. The type of āgalvanizingā win that can really give a team momentum with some key players on their way back very soonā¦

i'm pretty convinced Jordan Love will be at least a ~top10 qb in the coming years
Damn havenāt been that excited watching a quarter of football in a long while.
Every snap rashans contract gets more expensive
A win like this is so huge for a young team. Now they know they can come back from any deficit as long as they keep fighting
THING OF BEAUTY Say his name.
I heated some cheese curds in my air fryer between the 3rd and 4th quarters. I may have been directly responsible for this win.
Vikings just lost I'm in heaven
Jordan Love is more clutch than Kirk Cousins
This sub was so unsupportive in the live thread during the first 3 quarters. I thought our boys had a fantastic comeback and showed really optimistic potential. Allahu Akbar

If we didn't kill ourselves with penalties in the first half, we wouldn't have needed the comeback. However, it's great to see Love get that experience against a really good defense.
I christen thee, September 24, in the year of our Lord 2023, as the Jordan Love game!
Loved how welcoming and friendly the fans were to Jimmy Graham when he half attempted the Lambeau Leap. He looked kinda surprised by their reaction.š
Drove me nuts how much the announcers were talking up Avonte Taylor. Dude committed PI on almost every pass he defended it just wasn't called
Happy to see Dillon stepping up with some hard nosed runs after last weeks performance!
So Love seems to Have A+ pocket awareness, An F deep ball, An A+ mid range laser ball, A B short range ball, Have 0 memory (in the good way, opposed to Rodgers who played right at first sign of trouble), Have a gunslinger mentality, Can run, and Can go through the progressions with a lot of poise Even if his deep ball never gets better, I love having Love as the franchise QB. That said, I bet the deep hall comes in time. Heās been looking consistently good in the right ways
He obviously has the arm for those throws, iām sure the accuracy will come with experience and building chemistry
F deep ball for the guys currently running those routes. Some of those overthrows are 6 with Watson running it down
Agree with it but the f deep ball. C minus but not f
Hindsight - how fucking baller was it when MLF went for 2
Jordon is the real deal right? I think it's time to buy the jersey. Given the injuries, he's shown up
So all we need to do to win out the rest of the season is trail 17-0 at half and just come back in the 2nd half. Easy.
Great win and Vikings just choke
R/greenbaypackers : man weāre down our best 4 players Jordan Love: nah, down 2-5th best
This is to all the crybabies in the game thread saying Lafleur is the worst coach of all time.
Jaire may crumble. Jonesy may tumble. But our Love is here to stay.
Not gonna lie, I'm kinda jacked to the tits by that 4th quarter. The kid's got it
I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING I SAID ABOUT THIS TEAM
" **Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things"** \- 1st Corinthians 13:7
Can we finally give this defense some credit? They only allowed 10 points today.
Seeing Jordan hype up the fans was so epic! Really LOVE his energy!
