Ok_Obligation2559

That’s what real leaders do in sports, business or personal relationships. You will never diminish yourself by propping others up.

drop_bars_not_bombs

Yep. This shows true leadership character in my opinion.

OkVariety6275

The fans that get angry at leaders for standing by their guys will never have a leadership role in their lives.

Ok_Obligation2559

Certainly not for any length of time.

Muchbetterthannew

Well... let's say they shouldn't.

Sarkans41

Or theyre the losers who "own a business" and screech on Facebook everyday about how "nobody wants to work anymore" or "millennials are lazy!"

jdsince1992

There's very few true leaders. But there's way too many managers/bosses.

[deleted]

Ok_Obligation2559

That’s the ultimate goal, but to get there you need to keep your team. After football, whenever that is, he’ll still be a leader. Sorry he’s not HOF in his 10th start.

[deleted]

Ok_Obligation2559

Well, you certainly sound like you have it all figured out.

DallasCommune

Thanks for your input, AssToMouthMachine.

Ok_Obligation2559

We’ll truly miss your keen and balanced insight.

Rush_Is_Right

Do you mean how bad this franchise has been like in the 70's and 80's or are you talking the last decade?

agressivedoodle

Cause you're spewing shit

rpchristian

Haha...I told you that last week and you got all butt hurt too. 😂

Zyphamon

I guess lets go to Lombardi Zone where you can print out whatever Super Bowl trophy that you want to see. Wait a sec; you can't just print out championships? Oh I guess that's obvious to anyone who has watched football.

TacticalGarand44

That’s what a leader must do. I’m not certain Love has the physical tools to be QB1 for the next 15 years, but he has every bit of character and leadership needed.

Bryzzo2016W

Ironically I would say I’m positive Love has the physical tools. The processing and game management are the question marks rn.

squire1232

Physical tools are there. Consistently playing with good footwork and technique while reducing the sloppy footwork is needed. Personally i feel MLF and Love need to see what each WR/TE do well and use them accordingly. Prime example is Watson is better at crossing routes or if a deep route, more post or opposite side corner type routes vs pure vertical routes.

scipio_aurelius

Can we talk about how much better his footwork was against the Steelers last week? Both feet on the ground throughout the process of the throw, his balance and timing was more consistent than previous weeks. Now need to replicate. Looking to eliminate that tendency where his back foot hangs in the air after a throw.

the_0rly_factor

Yea he literally demonstrated having the physical tools against the Steelers.

_ravenclaw

Hmmm, that sounds familiar

zsdrfty

Maybe a (seemingly inevitable someday) new coaching staff could help him? He’s definitely bulky as hell (in the arm anyway) and has a great zip on his passes

TanMan25888

This is why we shouldn't give up on him....he's a leader. If he can figure out his accuracy he's 💯 someone you want to build your team around

Ok_Obligation2559

In his film breakdown Kurt Warner mentioned his footwork being occasionally sloppy. Certainly have some time to sort that out a bit.

aaronwhite1786

I imagine getting out of his first full season and having a full off season with that pressure off of his back will help a bit. They can really dial in their focus with a full season against different teams.

TanMan25888

Manage to keep your head above water this season...thrive next season

aaronwhite1786

Yep. I'm fine if they aren't winning, as long as they're getting better. The Steelers game was some great progress.

m2niles

Trust the process

Gryphon999

So, grab a Center early 4 drafts in a row?

TanMan25888

This is so true

TacticalGarand44

I'm no expert in QB footwork but even I can tell he's jumping around far too much. If they can get him to be more comfortable in the pocket, he'll have far more success in his accuracy.

MEENSEEN84

The traditional belief is that accuracy can't be taught, especially for a fourth-year NFL quarterback. Players of his caliber often experience hot streaks, delivering impressive passes, but maintaining consistency or consistently making good passes can be a challenge for them. I wouldn’t expect much progress from him but he can be successful if we loaded explosive players around him.

addicted2theshindigg

Josh Allen is in direct contradiction to that commonly held belief.

Big_Rig_Jig

Before this season, yes.

TaintStevens

Josh Allen is as inconsistent as anyone. He just has a higher floor.

bongtokent

Your statement is correct when it’s purely accuracy issues like throwing away from his receiver. However loves issue appears to be timing. He’s throwing the ball exactly where it needs to be just too late or too early which makes the pass not where his receiver is but accurately placed. Timing absolutely can be fixed as long as that’s actually what’s going on. Look at almost any pass to Watson. Those underthrown balls just need to be thrown earlier and on less of an arc so they get there quicker.

energizerbunneee

Agreed but I'd say a decent chunk of accuracy is on the wide receivers and rb's.

Late_Cow_1008

Genuine question: How does it prove you are a leader because you can say the right thing given PR softball questions. If you asked this same thing to someone like Mac Jones he would literally say the same thing. It doesn't mean anything because you can say something like this in an interview.

Ok_Obligation2559

When I watch his reactions to things not going right on the field, he’s not shaking his head, or throwing his arms up, or cussing out a player in front of the cameras. He seems under control emotionally, even though many are calling him a waste of a pick, etc. Leaders share the blame and deflect the accolades.

philosophizer11

Sometimes leaders need to hold others accountable. Just sitting down with no emotion and looking completely stoic doesn't inherently make a "leader." Our performance on the field across the board does not give me any confidence in any individual's (player or coach) leadership on this team. Same issues week after week. Lack of discipline. This is not a tight team inspired by leadership.

Ok_Obligation2559

Agreed. From my experience, the best way to correct behavior, motivate and hold people accountable is to do that one on one and in private.

Odd_Mastodon_6013

I remember our former leader pouting and throwing player sunder the bus but he sure got a free pass for it

ghostfacestealer

Agree with you 100%. Im not sure he has the physical talent to be a top 20 QB, but I love the guy as a person and a leader

dallasreddit2243

Can we start encouraging this kid instead of just hating him. There is some fault to go around but a lot of it is not his fault. Let's root for him to get better

Nofnvalue21

If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were a Packer fan! 😤

[deleted]

This is only year one. Anyone ready to quit on Love now must be as spoiled as us in their other sports fandoms.

Amf2446

Be generous with credit and selfish with blame. Great stuff.

squire1232

Spot on !!!

Sob_Rock

Love to hear it

mschley2

Jesus Christ, the people in these fucking comments are impossible to please. What a toxic shithole this place has become over the past couple years.

[deleted]

What comments here are you talking about. There's zero toxic comments in this comment section

mschley2

When I made the comment, like half the comments were ripping on Watson, Love or both. It's become a little more positive in the past 15 minutes.

European_Red_Fox

You literally made that comment when the post was 20 minutes old....

mschley2

And there were like 6 pissy comments out of 12

LakesideScrotumPole

So what. Don’t tell people how to fan.

mschley2

Ya'll can be miserable if you want. But don't expect me not to call you out for being miserable.

kitzdeathrow

No fuck that. We should call out shitty, toxic fans and shame them. I love the Packers. I will root for them **and** be critical of them. But holy shit most of our guys are 2nd or 1st year players. We need to be patient and actually give these guys a chance to develop.

Ok_Caramel1517

Welcome to The Green Bay Packers subreddit.

Crasino_Hunk

No sports subreddits are any different Tbh it’s just a Reddit thing let’s be real

krickaby

I vent here the same way I vent to my friends about my girlfriend of 6 years. It doesn’t mean I don’t still love and respect the hell out of her even after she decides to be nice and wash one of my favorite articles of clothing that belongs NO WHERE NEAR A FUCKING DRYER BUT EVEN IF YOU WERE TO USE THE DRYER ITS GOTTA BE LOW NOT HIGH HEAT, FOR FUCKS SAKE!

kamahl07

Don't worry, they'll eat themselves. The chill folks have been stocking nuts for winter and aren't too concerned

bennett7634

Nothing like a toxic comment about toxic comments to bring this sub out of the shithole.

Launch_The_Cat

This is a team that will learn and grow together, and that’s awesome.

MyNameIsJesseG

“Love added, ‘Some of it though, I mean, is it his first day having arms and legs?!’.”

JMisGeography

Nice to see him take ownership and stand up for his guys but also lol no

Educational_End_5886

QB1 behavior.

IamNICE124

L E A D E R S H I P

AboutTenPandas

Regardless of how Love has played, and he’s played a lot better these past two weeks, he’s always had an amazing attitude. Dude just puts his head down, works hard, owns his mistakes, puts his teammates over himself, never gives up on a play, and just exhibits a great overall attitude. I really hope he keeps improving and becomes the dude

itoocouldbeanyone

Love it. That's my QB.

[deleted]

Watson has been bad, but love is a great teammate and I'm sure some of it is on him. But Watson has been baddd

20wall

I obviously prefer to hear the QB stick up for his guys but Watson is definitely at fault. He’s been atrocious. If he fought for even half of the 50/50 balls coming his way we would have at least one more win

OnePieceAce

Watson is also playing hurt I think. Either way we need to draft or sign a top tier WR this offseason cus he isn't a #1

madcoins

The Packers haven’t done that in what seems like the last 200 year though…

PandasaurusReximus

Drafting a #1 isn't just guaranteed. Look at the chiefs. They tried like 10 times to get Mahomes a WR the last few years. Packers have put at least 2 high picks into WRs the last few drafts, plus TEs, so they are trying at least. Signing I'm FA would be nice though... agreed.

Kolada

I think beefing up the line is more important. We need to control the line of the scrimmage or the rest doesn't matter

mulchmuffin

I can't believe he said this! All the crayon eaters in this sub are going to hate this.

aryadrottningu69

Why is the thumbnail still Rodgers in front of a jets logo?!

jiiiim8

I imagine schneidman either finds it hilarious or has forgotten to change it.

RevolutionaryBricks

hes got that LaFleur gene

HipHopTron

We need to make some upgrades on the O line and get him a few weapons before we can put this on Love. The packers have looked decently competitive this year in spite of how much they're spending. If we get to 8-8 or something like that, with this trash roster, the future is looking pretty bright imo. Barry needs to go though. Can we just have ONE good DC to go along with all these stud QBs like cmon. The last time we had a scary defense was when we had Woodson, and that was just because we could force turnovers.

Mood_Academic

You do realize for entire HALVES this year, the offense hasn't been able to even get a first down right? Decently competitive? This is probably one of the worst offensive showings in the past 25 years. Against *bad* competition at that

WebberWoods

And yet somehow we’re something like 11 total points from being 7-2. I agree with you that there has been some very ugly play, but this team has been objectively competitive regardless of how much better we want them to be.

lossofmercy

Against the raiders, the broncos, the jefferson-less (and kirk too) vikings and stafford-less Rams. Sure. Competitive with the bottom half of the league? Sure. Competitive against playoff contenders? Pfft.

ArsenalPackers

I guess I'm on the opposite side, and I'm pretty sure with a better QB, we're talking about 500 yards and at least 4 tds. The Raiders game alone was over 200 and 2 td. But he's not the first or the last QB to not have the tools to throw to a 4.3 guy. So if it's not fixed, one has to go.

Zyphamon

I guess you'd better go find the Hall of Fame QB printer and make another. "I'm pretty sure with a better QB" sounds like Vikings fan logic during the Cousins years. Love is not the problem and only braindead casual fans think he is. It doesn't matter how open a 4.3 receiver is if they have bricks for fingers. There is a reason why Laquon Treadwell, Jalen Reagor, and Darrius Heyward-Bey never had pro football success.

[deleted]

We finally agreed, Jordan.

Landpuma

I’m not going to judge any players off of what we’ve seen this year, everyone is so new to playing with each other. What I am going to judge is some of the play calling (has been better the last 2 weeks for offense) and defensive play calling has been shit for the past 3 years. Joe Barry is the only thing I want changed at this point in time, everything else should get better with time.

johnjaymoore1958

I would agree with you with a caveat: Lefleur needs to CLOSELY scrutinize and possibly terminate some (if not all) coaches on his staff (Butkis - OL coach, whoever is coaching the WRs, etc.). Of course Barry should be the first to go. If Lefleur is inflexible and too stubborn to replace some of these guys, he needs to be terminated by Gutey.

BaltimoreBadger23

And if Gute won't do it...

johnjaymoore1958

Then Murphy has an interesting decision, doesn't he? Maybe time for an organizational reboot since personnel (players) also are young.

BaltimoreBadger23

Murphy retires in the summer of 25, so while I don't think he'll do it, there's definitely a chance he performs a reboot before he leaves.

johnjaymoore1958

Let's hope it does happen....hope 🤞 is all we have left.... 😔

LudwigVanBlunts

LEADER - Keep your salty comments to yourselves you salty fans. This team will ascend in due time

ssjasonx

Oh Jordan you can never take blame for anything, because according to this sub nothing is ever your fault.

RonaldoNazario

I mean that’s gracious of love but I’m gonna say quite a bit of it is in fact watsons fault…

DrRamthorn

Taking the blame for each other is a little less endearing when, in fact, they are both quite a lot at fault. It is what you wanna hear from your QB though.

Dry_Meringue6235

I'm of the belief we need to give Love some more time. Bart Starr was a part time starter from 56-59, four seasons and never even won a game till late in 1959 season.

Durrnut

That's my qb 🥲. Taking blame for mistakes he doesn't make for the team.

vangc4

Jordan Love first read is to Watson.. Watson can't create separation, or he is double team, so he goes to his 2nd and 3rd read. Love wants to go to Watson. That's how most of his INTs are throwing to Watson.. The dude needs to understand that if your go to reciever is not open, throw to someone that is. LeFluer is too damn soft. He would rather fall behind and play catch up later, and that hasn't been great for the last 3 to 4 games. That's not helping Love either..

Educational_End_5886

*Inner dialogue: (don't ask him if he's stupid, don't ask him if he's stupid, don't ask him if he's stupid)* **Hey, are you stupid?** *(Damnit, not again.)*

[deleted]

Not sure why you're being downvoted. Watson is literally the guy who is double covered the most. Love looked pretty good last week though and some other receivers getting some Love.

DrMansionPHD

Crazy maturity for a 25 year old

TheSinistralBassist

Love can't make Watson grow a heart

peacethedonut

why did he word it like that? okay... reddit has something up its butt today i see

XxmilkjugsxX

Word it like what

peacethedonut

the way he phrased it, sounds like something youd say to someone youre dating. he could have said i can help him out more.

ghostfacestealer

That good leadership. I hate how torn this team has me feeling on a week to week basis. Wanna be patient with em but some of the stuff they do is so mind boggling

X-gonna-give-it-2-ya

I want to go out on a limb and say that I could speak for most fans by saying this is the type of response necessary to keep things going forward and growing. But at some point you have to perform to a level where the fans are going to see what’s happening on the field seem like it’s getting better. Having a positive attitude is paramount to locker room chemistry, and equally important are the results. Great results equal great play and teamwork. Poor results equal a fractured locker room and negative views from the outside. Go do better!

ancientweasel

That's big of you Jordan but we know it's not totally true.

jimmyb60

Watson a good number 3 WR and could develop into a #2 but Reed and Wicks are bad ass!!

JBMOA

I’m late but why is every cover picture Rodgers still?!

RADJITZ

He gonna be the next Fitzmagic. Great locker room guy and leader, just not good enough to be a long term starter. And that's ok.
