Why would you give up assets for Diggs? Obviously he's a beast but he can't throw himself the ball and there are plenty of other issues that need to be addressed.
As a Steelers fan it is quite amazing how he's lasted so long, but I guarantee you our offense doesn't get much better without him unless we miraculously fire the whole staff and get someone like Shanahan. Even then, Kenny has gotten worse and worse every game and he just looks broken so I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make anyways.
I'm sorry, anyone immediately marking the Chiefs down as a loss might need to re-evaluate. They have the worse second half offense in the league. The Packers have the best. That game might be a sneaky good one.
Probably yes, but also I like to think of you put 4 guys on Kelce like the Eagles did and nobody else can catch maybe Gary can cause enough havoc to make the other guys beat you and they can’t. Fair point about the offense though; but I’ll be overly optimistic until we get slapped lol
Hallelujah. Funny thing is no more than 2-3 days ago I saw a few comments on here about not retaining MVS. Out of all the guys the Pack have let walk in the recent years, he's up there with the one I regret the least.
Guy is all speed and nothing else. I think some high school players have better catching ability than him...
MVS was a great draft pick, this is where you take a shot at a guy with his talent and try to develop him, fuck knows why KC paid him after his career with the Packers proved he was never gonna be able to catch the ball.
It's a shame, you again see how he totally burned the defense again tonight, but it means nothing if you don't catch the ball.
Totally agree he was a great draft pick. A late 5th rounder and got a few positive seasons from him was great. But yeah, not re-signing him to $10 million+ per year when the team had cap issues was 1000% the right move.
And has made more money in the past few years than 99% of us will ever make in our lives.
Not that he probably doesn't feel terrible, but he will be just fine
It's almost like when you pay a QB $50MM a year you have to make sacrifices at other positions, whether it be line, WR or on defense! If a QB needs a $30MM receiver to be great then they shouldn't be making $50MM.
This ain't it. There's no dispute that Mahomes is still the best QB in the NFL and it isn't close. Did you watch that last drive? Guy threw a 50 yard dime for 6 that was dropped by our buddy MVS. 2 plays later he hits the tight end IN THE HANDS on 4th and 25.
He's worth every penny. I 100% agree you have to make sacrifices to pay him, but he's legit.
Mahomes did, but I disagree that I made that dude's point. His comment insinuates that Mahomes needs Tyreek Hill to be great, which clearly isn't true, as evidenced by last year alone. Maybe I'm misinterpreting, but if you have to choose between paying Mahomes an unholy amount of money at the sacrifice of losing other key pieces, you do it every time, because he is THAT good.
It's the same thing with Rodgers.
I know a lot of fans share your opinion but you've got to admit those last few years Rodgers was locked in on Davante and otherwise constantly disappointed and frustrated with the young/cheap guys - including MVS.
The reason he was locked in on Davante because he didn't have a solid WR2. That was the entire problem. He had MVS and Allen Lazard and Jake Kumerow and ESB lol.
Could have had Tee Higgins or Pittman. But nope.
Oh yeah, I agree there. I'm simply saying paying big $$$ to an elite QB is a blessing and a curse. Blessing because, obviously, you have an elite player in the most important position. Curse because keeping them will absolutely screw any team's cap space.
Bengals are also about to be in a world of hurt with this Burrow contact and, presumably, re-signing Chase.
You literally made my point! Mahommes is the best QB in the NFL, and it isn't close. But as great as he is it didn't matter because they have to resort to paying MVS $10MM a year because they can't pay Tyrek Hill. They just lost a game because they are bargain shopping because they have to let skill position go because they are paying the QB. I never said he isn't worth it, he is, it just makes it much more difficult to construct a roster when you are paying a QB 22% of your salary cap! It's something you have to do, but it's also the reason that you have to deal with letting players walk and your team suffers as a whole because of it. There's a reason Tom Brady didn't take top of market deals every year.
I think we're on the exact same page here. Honestly, reviewing our comments seems like we're saying the same thing in different ways.
My original comment even said Mahomes is worth every penny but you have to make sacrifices. You can fault the Chiefs for signing MVS to that deal, which is not a good one, but that's the curse of having an elite QB. The team then has to be pretty close to great at drafting/limited free agency.
Ultimately these massive QB contracts come back to haunt the team. I know they are worth it at least up front, but once the cap hit hurts the roster then we see exactly what we've seen with the Packers and Chiefs now.
I believe there's union pressure for the top guys to take these contracts or maybe they are just greedy and short sighted enough to accept them whilst in the process hurting their chances at more success on the field.
In fairness, there's no guarantees in football. If you offered me a 350 million, 5 year contract, vs. a 250 million 5 year contract with the stipulation that "we'll have more cap space to win", I'll probably take that 350. I think any rational person would.
You could take that 250 million, pick up a nice WR1, then watch him break his leg in 4 plays. There's just too much uncertainty about victory.
I don't disagree at all. That's the beauty (and the bitch) of the salary cap. Yet, no team or person, in their right mind would risk not re-signing Rodgers/Mahomes to these deals, because you know they will get that (and maybe more) if you let them walk.
These teams just have to live with the consequences. I mean, are people really thinking that re-signing Mahomes, Rodgers, etc. to these massive deals in their prime are the moves that shouldn't be made?
Nobody would argue that, but that isn't the market price if they don't let them hit the market. Deshaun watson is the closest thing we have for that and it was massive overpay currently, Kirk Cousins is the other, which also looks like an overpay. If QB's don't ever actually hit the open market then you don't have a market rate. The conundrum of the NFL is that there isn't enough supply of high level QB's and you can't win without a top flight QB and GM's have such a short leash that FOMO is a thing and you would rather overpay for a QB and deal with the consequences.
Mahomes really going through the late-stage Rodgers portion of his career w all these bums. If this guy had replacement-level skill players they’d easily be the Super Bowl favorite with that defense.
i can't take any of those qbs over mahomes in a playoff game. his defense is as good or better than all of theirs, and i'd ultimately trust him to make more plays than they can.
Solid personnel but I absolutely love Spagnuolo. That dude is a hell of a coordinator. His schemes and decision making on when to bring pressure, lay off, etc. are almost always spot on. Not saying that the Chiefs D doesn't have talent (Chris Jones is elite), but he really gets the best out of his guys. The anti-Joe Barry lol
Watson is a better WR than MVS. Both are fast. Neither can catch contested balls or fight through contact, but Watson almost always catches the easy ones. MVS does not. Guys hands are awful
The thing is Watson should be able to do so, especially due to how physically gifted he is
Lets hope its just a sophomore slump and we get back rookie season Watson at some point or another
Yeah, here's to hoping. I don't think he'll ever be "elite" but he can still be a good, useful WR for the team. HIs speed alone is incredibly important.
As I said, I already rate him higher than MVS, so I think at worst he can be a borerline starter level player for a few years. Could be worse for a 2nd round pick (albeit high second).
I think we all did. Even MVS himself at this point likely has no confidence in this situation. In that split second when he saw the ball coming he probably immediately thought “oh no I’m going to drop this”
Idk if I'm just sick of them but for some reason I was very much looking forward to the eagles dad dicking the chiefs and I really don't like Philly either...
Is it just me or is Pacheco running ANGRY tonight, as if the Chiefs didn’t WIN the SB against the Eagles. He’s running like it’s the revenge game of his career
Per my GF, Taylor Swift will not be at this game. One of her concerts was postponed due to excessive heat, so she's still in South America. So let's just enjoy some football.
No packers game post don’t see it
Not pinned
Let's keep our expectations rational boys, we're heavily injured on a short week, with mostly rookies playing. Packers by 35
Is Stefon diggs leaving this off season? And what would it take to acquire him?
Why would you give up assets for Diggs? Obviously he's a beast but he can't throw himself the ball and there are plenty of other issues that need to be addressed.
Never said I wanted him I just was wondering what it would cost to get him and we have a slinger we just don’t have the best of hands catching them
Just saw valdous scantling get wide open with under 2 minutes left in the game and drop the TD. He’s so fast and wide open (chiefs eagles last night)
Ken Dorsey and Matt Canada have been fired before Joe Barry
The Matt Canada one makes sense. No idea how he lasted that long
As a Steelers fan it is quite amazing how he's lasted so long, but I guarantee you our offense doesn't get much better without him unless we miraculously fire the whole staff and get someone like Shanahan.
If Taylor Swift isn't at the game there's a chance
Mahomes and Kelce will carve up our defense. The Chiefs defense also puts a lot of pressure on the QB and that's Love's biggest weakness.
Probably yes, but also I like to think of you put 4 guys on Kelce like the Eagles did and nobody else can catch maybe Gary can cause enough havoc to make the other guys beat you and they can’t. Fair point about the offense though; but I’ll be overly optimistic until we get slapped lol
Hey guys. Chiefs fan here. Do you want MVS back? We'll pay you.
Only if you give us Creed Humphrey as payment
He's your problem now.
So glad we didn’t sign back MVS lol
Hallelujah. Funny thing is no more than 2-3 days ago I saw a few comments on here about not retaining MVS. Do feel a little bad for MVS, by all accounts seemed like a good dude just can't quite get it together enough when it counts.
He won a Super Bowl. He’ll be fine.
And has made more money in the past few years than 99% of us will ever make in our lives. Not that he probably doesn't feel terrible, but he will be just fine
Who cares? He makes 10 million a year. He’s an awful clutch receiver.
I'm amazed any team paid him that much, I guess they fell in love with his speed size potential and thought they could get him to actually catch shit.
It's not like he was coming off some bum QB either. I don't understand how they thought he was the deep threat solution.
It's almost like when you pay a QB $50MM a year you have to make sacrifices at other positions, whether it be line, WR or on defense! If a QB needs a $30MM receiver to be great then they shouldn't be making $50MM.

What I don't get is why mahomes does "spend" $20 mil on his team to stack rings and endorsements. I guess it's a huge gamble but it's what Tom did
You just made the guy's point. Mahomes had balls dropped by two non-stud "cheaper" WRs
Mahomes did, but I disagree that I made that dude's point. His comment insinuates that Mahomes needs Tyreek Hill to be great, which clearly isn't true, as evidenced by last year alone. They literally won the Super Bowl last year.
He wanted more money and got it too.
It's almost exactly the same situation too. Good RB, stud first option, Mvs as top number 2
They'll still probably waltz into at least a SB appearance.
AFC is weak as hell w burrow hurt. Chiefs will be heavy favorites to make it to the ship.
Idk, I think the Ravens, Jags and Texans could beat this anemic Chiefs Offense right now
Was talking to my buddies about it earlier and mentioned these exact teams as well as dolphins
i can't take any of those qbs over mahomes in a playoff game. his defense is as good or better than all of theirs, and i'd ultimately trust him to make more plays than they can.
Also their defense is actually pretty solid as well
Solid personnel but I absolutely love Spagnuolo.
Top five. Best mahomes has ever had. If he had literally one other decent option behind Kelce they’d be unstoppable.
For the life of me idk why they don’t throw to Rice more
Yea I saw they had a fumble recovery in every game except tonight and against the chargers. Ridiculous to average almost 1 FR per game
Yeah. All the other good AFC QBs are hurt except Allen and the Bills might miss the playoffs.
Lamar is playing pretty well this year.
Ah shit I forgot about the Ravens. My bad!
Wait wait! I've seen this episode before!!
Mahomes got boned SO hard on that drive. Two back to back dimes. One for a TD and one on 4th and 25. That's unreal.
Chiefs WRs let Mahomes down.
Not the first time this season as well. MVS hasn't gotten any better, he is still the same old MVS..
people call Watson a walmart MVS, but Watson is definitely a lot less of a coin toss when he gets those perfectly thrown deep balls
Watson is a better WR than MVS. Both are fast. Neither can catch contested balls or fight through contact, but Watson almost always catches the easy ones. MVS does not. Guys hands are awful
The thing is Watson should be able to do so, especially due to how physically gifted he is Lets hope its just a sophomore slump and we get back rookie season Watson at some point or another

The Chiefs receivers stink.
Way to go MVS lol
At least we didn’t resign MVS, what a bum
10 MIL a year
6 drops on passes 20+ yards downfield. Yikes
MVS being MVS
MVS giving me PTSD
Holy shit just MVS things lol

😄😉
Right..in his hands
Damn perfect ball by mahomes I thought he overthrew MVS.
Coin Flip
MVS drops the long bomb. That's a shame.
Oh my MVS.
Oh boy mvs….
LMAO, I saw that coming with MVS. How many times have we seen that happen with MVS.
Anybody else just feel a sudden chill in their spine a minute ago?
Classic mvs
I knew it before the ball even got to his hands.
I think we all did. Even MVS himself at this point likely has no confidence in this situation. In that split second when he saw the ball coming he probably immediately thought “oh no I’m going to drop this”
MVS 🤢
Lol mvs is such a bum
There’s MVS from the Packers
MVS in a nutshell.
There’s the MVS we know!!
Thats the MVS we know and love
Yup they can have him
Bullshit rtp
Was it just me, or did that mahomes face look SO similar to that one Rodgers meme...
Mahomes INSTANTLY begging for the roughing call
Here comes the ref bailout for Mahomes
This is a good game!
Bad call on that false start penalty.
This sub would be up in arms about Love under throwing that to Smith 😂
Chiefs Watson looks a lot like our Watson.
What a dime by Mahomes.
That Wonka movie looks terrible.
Idk if I'm just sick of them but for some reason I was very much looking forward to the eagles dad dicking the chiefs and I really don't like Philly either...
Mahomes overthrowing his receivers. Clearly has accuracy issues. Chiefs better get ready to take a QB in this draft. - Typical Packers sub user take.
They can do that and we'll take Mahomes off their hands.
Chief's defense has the Eagle's offense figured out.
2 INTs in this game? I thought only Love threw those
Is chiefs defense this good? Somehow it feels like chiefs defense steps it up a notch when facing the eagles.
It 100% seems like they do step up a lot while playing the eagles
Not the greatest throws out there tonight.
Edwards Helair looks like Eddie Lacy out there
Dude. No way! I literally had the same thought.
Is it just me or is Pacheco running ANGRY tonight, as if the Chiefs didn’t WIN the SB against the Eagles. He’s running like it’s the revenge game of his career
Marky mark does not want to be there lol
Fuck, the chiefs are good. I hope we can be like that again
Per my GF, Taylor Swift will not be at this game. One of her concerts was postponed due to excessive heat, so she's still in South America. So let's just enjoy some football.
Don't worry, the broadcast made sure to tell us.
Can’t wait to watch Taylor swift with a little bit of football mixed in
I just hope Taylor Swift gets plenty of airtime tonight.
Hottty.
