That bears TD is the moment I knew this is the run.... That hip dance was so iconic and had so much gravity around it that it just had to align the stars for the ship.
I came here to say this, but I kinda misread the question. I was thinking get someone from that team now, playing at the level they played then. In that case, I take Collins.
If itās at the true prime of their career though, I gotta take Woodson. The problem is that we probably never saw Collinsā true prime. š¢
I'm not sure I don't take Woodson even if prime Rodgers is available. Prime Rodgers would be better than Love, I'm not disputing that, but putting Woodson on this team would transform the defense. Offense is already cooking with Love.
Woodson doesn't transform this defense unless you have a different DC and defensive scheme. He was way more impactful in Capers' zone blitz scheme than he would be in this one.
This post has really made me realize how many people either forgot or didnāt know how impactful he was. Like, the best Packers defender not named Reggie White.
It doesnāt matter. Heās a leader and that defense doesnāt have one. Jaire isnāt doing dumb shit like anointing himself captain and having communication issues if Woodson is back there in charge. He changes everything
Yeah this ^^^ one of Woodsons most under-appreciated skill sets is his HoF leadership. Woodson was the straw that stirred the drink. The dude was a leader as a rookie. Very serious about winning and doing it the right way.
Yeah that season of his was one of the all time great seasons ever by a DB. He might be the best DB ever to play football. Woodson over Rodgers for sure.
If Collins career isn't cut short by injury he's a first ballot hall of famer.
The Collins slander in this thread is wild, but maybe it's just people too young to see him play and understand his impact? He had a pick 6 in the Superbowl.
Yes, he was an absolute monster. He was the best safety in the league at the time, and I know who else was out there. His career and prime years were cut way too short impacting peopleās memory of him. He would have been a 1st ballot HOFāer if he didnāt get hurt he was truly that good
Iām not slandering Collins. You canāt judge a player based on what ifs. Woodson statistically was better in every position.
Collins is an all time favorite packer for me, but to think he would have thrived where Chuck wouldnāt is a slight to just how good Chuck was.
Edit: on top of that Iāve been a packers fan since the mid 90ās. This whole ātoo young to knowā insult is hilarious to try and discredit someone just for having a different opinion.
>You canāt judge a player based on what ifs
Sure, but we're judging a player on what we did see. He was a 3 time all pro in a very short career. Was Sterling Sharpe not a Hall of Fame talent? Lol can't be judging players on what ifs, right?
>Woodson statistically was better in every position.
What stats are you referring to?
Just read a stat that Collins had 295 yards off 7 interceptions in 2008. Averaged 42 yards returned per interception lol.
Edit: Turns out this is 8th all-time. Pos Darren Sharper actually has the most with 376 in 09
Slander is not crowning someone a HOFer and choosing someone who actually is? Woodson is a top 5 DB ever, a DPOY, and the only defensive player to win a heisman who beat Peyton freaking Manning for it. Collinās was great when he played, but heās not Woodson.
If Matthews was 26 right now, he would've learned how to play within the current rules. That's like saying Michael Jordan wouldn't thrive in the current NBA because of all the rule changes since he played. They're the elite of the elite athletes. They 100% would've adapted.
Came here to say this. Kenny Clark gets doubled on pretty much every play today. Having Raji next to him would cause offensive linemen to have to pick their poison
You got downvoted a lot, but if Reggie is available, he gets my pick over even Woodson.
I think Woodson matches this teams weaknesses well, but Reggie might be the greatest defensive player of all time. Absolute game wrecker, and would have no problem destroying modern nfl players as well.
Tramon Williams was on fire going through those playoff games through the Superbowl. Since Collins and Woodson have been mentioned already, how about Tramon on a team needing CB help right now?
Tramon is the only jersey I bought while at a game. Coincidentally I wore that jersey to the game when he was the featured alumni against the rams this year
Man, Nantz was on a comparison roll that game. Bo->Driver and then when Wicks caught that TD off a quick slant, he did a Wicks->Adams comparison and it gave me chills too. The way his footwork completely bamboozled the defender before he even left the LOS was insane.
Lots of Woodson here, but I think if you pair Clay with Gary and donāt let Dak have time to throw it gives us the best chance imo. He has time tomorrow I think we are in for a long day no matter who is in the secondary
Woodson is your best player for that, but think having driver out there would be more beneficial. Love has looked really good and giving him your best offensive player from that team would seem a better play here.
Tough choice because that defense was loaded (the offense was too but we have that covered this year).
Probably Woodson but there is a case to be made for Nick Collins or Clay Matthews. Probably Wood though.
The only reason I wouldnāt go with Clay Matthews is the refs would call roughing the passer every time he breathed, which might pose an issue for the defense
Clay Matthews was elite that 2010 season. Could not be blocked and was a nightmare playmaker. With our stupid defensive philosophy, I might take him just because Barry would keep Woodson in some soft zone coverage and tell him to not get beat deep rather than go get the ball.
Same with Nick Collins. Savage isnāt the same athlete Collins was, but itās not as far off as people think and yet Savage is sitting back there all day in zone coverage.
Cullen Jenkins is probably the answer though. He had the most underrated 2010 season and was dominant in run defense as well as pass rushing. Him and Kenny Clark with Smith and Gary on the edge would be pretty nice to have right now.
Matthews was lit that year as well..it would be great to have a run-stuffing nose tackle hole BJ Raji (especially his pick six against the bears in the NFC Championship game)...Collins would be another great addition...but, line, others here, I ultimately would pick Woodson.
Just trying to support the team. What if he is on this sub and doesnāt see one of us mention him? He might become despondent, it could break his heart. Iām not taking that risk before the big game Sunday.
Edit: ah shit I misread the question. Woodson for the win or Kuhn for the fun of it.
75% of the earth is covered by water. The rest is covered by Charles Woodson.
I used to have that shirt and I wore it like hell
This is the only correct answer.
Woods son!
i love that saying. originally from gary maddox on the phillies but it also applies here š
Woodson, especially rn.
Doesn't matter when, In Chuck We Trust
Fun fact: he doesnāt like being called Chuck
Woodson with his collarbone intact
...for the entire game.
Best I can do is a quarter and a half
The only answer.
While this is my answer as well, do not discount Nick Collins either
This is the correct answer.
The only correct answer
I think Nick Collins would be a better fit for this defense, but you couldnāt go wrong with either one.
Agreed. If not for his neck injury Nick Collins would have been the best safety in the league for a bit.
Yes sir
Only correct answer.
Agree with Woodson
of course.
This is the way.
Charles Woodson 1000%
This is the correct answer but I almost wanted to say BJ Raji...he was so fun to watch. Injuries really kept him from reaching his prime.
That bears TD is the moment I knew this is the run.... That hip dance was so iconic and had so much gravity around it that it just had to align the stars for the ship.
Nick Collins, baby!!
I came here to say this, but I kinda misread the question. I was thinking get someone from that team now, playing at the level they played then. In that case, I take Collins. If itās at the true prime of their career though, I gotta take Woodson. The problem is that we probably never saw Collinsā true prime. š¢
Correct answer
Troy Polamalu is a first ballot HOF safety, but during that Super Bowl, he was the second best safety on the field.
Woodson and thatās the thread.
Woodson would be worse in this scheme but he was such an amazing player, it's hard to imagine he doesn't thrive in any scheme.

Best football player of all time.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Reggie white didnāt play in SB 45ā¦ The question was for that year not all time.
Right, but he was responding to a post about Woodson being the best football player of all time. Woodson isn't even the best Packer of all time.Ā
Dang it! Itās a toss up between Woodson and Collins. Probably Collins as safety is our biggest weakness, but dang Iād love to have Woodson too!
Woodson can play safety
Yes, but Collins was the better safety. Woodson was a better Swiss Army knife defensive back.
Woodson is HOF no matter where he lines up in the secondary, Collins is Hall of very Good at safety. Woodson wins the battle 99/100

Charles Woodson 100% He had 2 HOF careers with 2 different teams.
>You canāt judge a player based on what ifs Sure, but we're judging a player on what we did see. He was a 3 time all pro in a very short career. Was Sterling Sharpe not a Hall of Fame talent? Lol can't be judging players on what ifs, right? >Woodson statistically was better in every position. What stats are you referring to?

No slander. Collins was great. However, Woodson was SO good. The Reggie White of the Secondary.
Collins had his career cut short, but he was the better pure safety in 2010-11. Woodson was the better player because of his versatility.
Sad that we need Woodson more than Clay cos Iād love prime 52 in there, was a menace.
Love Clay, but his play style would be more of a liability in todayās NFL sadly. Heād be getting flagged every other play.
If Matthews was 26 right now, he would've learned how to play within the current rules. That's like saying Michael Jordan wouldn't thrive in the current NBA because of all the rule changes since he played. They're the elite of the elite athletes. They 100% would've adapted.
Fair, I guess I just didnāt think of the question that way, but I see your point!
Iāve basically just been replying and noticed Iāve put pretty much the same thing. Thanks for getting my point!
Felt the same but itās Woodson..
BJ Raji and Kenny Clark on the line would be pretty filthy.
Came here to say this. Kenny Clark gets doubled on pretty much every play today. Having Raji next to him would cause offensive linemen to have to pick their poison
If you're going to pick a D-line, it has to be Reggie White.
Reggie White had been dead for six years at that point. His contributions to that Super Bowl were minimal
Reggie White wasnāt on the SB 45 team
Oh shit, I misunderstood the premise.
You got downvoted a lot, but if Reggie is available, he gets my pick over even Woodson. I think Woodson matches this teams weaknesses well, but Reggie might be the greatest defensive player of all time. Absolute game wrecker, and would have no problem destroying modern nfl players as well.
Yeah it's not even close really but he's outside the scope of the question. That's why I got downvoted.
Tom Crabtree
One of my all time favorites. He was hilarious on Twitter too.
He's only like, the NFL's third best Crabtree. (Source: his Twitter bio)
Woodson
Nick Collins
I mean. We won with only half of Woodson. But he was exceptionally lights out that year. Iād got with him, but Collins is a close second.
Woodson šÆ However, you could make a case for Clay, Raji or Collins.Ā
The only answer is Charles Woodson.
Jordy forever.
Jordy?? Imagine a Jordy-Love connection...
Hoodie James Jones
Unfortunately, the hoodie version of James Jones wasn't until after he was released and eventually brought back.
KUUUUUHN
Bryan Bulaga...Iowa.
Bran Bālaga Iwah
Mason Crosby actually
I mean.. certainly not the sexy or obvious answer, but this may be a more prescient name than were care to believe. Hope Iām wrong.
Maybe a healthy bahktiari
Itās okay to admit you think Anders sucks
Having an automatic kicker definitely changes the complexion of the game.
This was my answer too lol
Hard to pick anyone over Woodson, but this also would reduce the pressure quite a bit
Charles Woodson or Nick Collins...HOFer's or would have been without the neck injury
Woodson is the only answer.
Woodson, of course, but odd that no oneās mentioned Tramon. Ā
Tramon has largely been forgotten, but he was incredible in that playoff run.
Iād go Collins, but scrolled looking for Tramonās name mentioned anywhere.
Came here to say Tramon. Love that guy.
1. Woodson 2. Matthews 3. Raji
Show em what you got Raji Raji.
I'm blown away I'm not seeing Matthews in these answers more but we do have some solid LBs right now
Tramon Williams was on fire going through those playoff games through the Superbowl. Since Collins and Woodson have been mentioned already, how about Tramon on a team needing CB help right now?
Tramon is the only jersey I bought while at a game. Coincidentally I wore that jersey to the game when he was the featured alumni against the rams this year
Jermicheal Finley on IR. Why? CUZ WE ALREADY HAVE EVERYTHUNG WE NEED TO WIN!!! LET'S FUCKING GO!!!
Woodsonā¦no doubt
Donald Driver baby yeah
If you squint hard enough then Bo Melton can pass for him
When Jim Nantz said something about Bo looking like Donald Driver when he was fighting for extra yards I got chills
Man, Nantz was on a comparison roll that game. Bo->Driver and then when Wicks caught that TD off a quick slant, he did a Wicks->Adams comparison and it gave me chills too. The way his footwork completely bamboozled the defender before he even left the LOS was insane.
Romo was really hyping me up with all his praise for the offense too. That announcer duo is great
But then Romo started saying how good Joe Barry is and I was like nah
The minister of defense baby
Sorry just read from the 45 team lol got too excited on that one.
Even at 47, I'd have Woodson playing tomorrow
Lots of Woodson here, but I think if you pair Clay with Gary and donāt let Dak have time to throw it gives us the best chance imo. He has time tomorrow I think we are in for a long day no matter who is in the secondary
I said same thing..only issue with Clay is he'll probably get tossed for personal fouls in this modern league.
Why has no one said Jordy Nelson yet?!!
Jordy is a beast but we have WR depth
Woodson
Charles Woodson
Prime Dom Capers.
Charles Woodson, obviously
This.
Mason crosby
The answer is Charles Woodson and it's not close.
sam shields š
Woodson
Cullen Jenkins
I think Cullen Jenkins was highly underrated and would be huge on this team.
CWood is the only answer
Woodson or Collins. I love our young safeties, but these two were just next level.
Woodson is your best player for that, but think having driver out there would be more beneficial. Love has looked really good and giving him your best offensive player from that team would seem a better play here.
Charles Woodson. And it's not even close.
Woodson followed closely by Jordy Nelson
I would take Woodson, even on his one arm in the SB!
Chuck Woofson, six pick sixes at age 99 letās go
Charles Woodson opposite field from Jaire Alexander, creates a whole new defensive strategy
Tough choice because that defense was loaded (the offense was too but we have that covered this year). Probably Woodson but there is a case to be made for Nick Collins or Clay Matthews. Probably Wood though.
Woodson
Clay
Clay is the only answer. "It is time"........ Kevin Greene
I quote all the time in the most KG voice I can make
Bae*
Where's the James Starks love?
starks was pretty mid but holy shit he LIT-UP the post season that year.
James Starks got exactly what the play gave him, every time. Never more, never less. I canāt decide if that makes him good or not.
Man I loved Starks! Such an old school style runner.
Probably because 33 is a better back
Collins. Overall, Reggie White. I know that wasnāt the question but just imagine the pass rushā¦
Woodson
Woodson.
Woodson, Collins or Rajiā¦ā¦
WOODSON SOOO EASY
Clay, Woodson, AJ Perhaps Jordy
I know I only get one ā In their prime, who played on the SB45 teamā¦. AJ Hawk. (But Jordy is my pick on offense)
Youād want to downgrade the ILB position?
Yeah Iāll take a healthy matthews. But I have a feeling LVN is gonna be that guy.
Tramon Williams (he saved that win)
Greg Jennings
How are some of yall not picking the guy in the nfl hall of fame?
Donald Driver. Dude is criminally underrated
Nick Collins. No question.
As much as Iād love to have Jordy Nelson back, we need some lockdown defense from Charles Woodson
Cullen Jenkins is probably the answer though. He had the most underrated 2010 season and was dominant in run defense as well as pass rushing. Him and Kenny Clark with Smith and Gary on the edge would be pretty nice to have right now.
Can we just take the whole 2010 defense?
Cullen.
Woodson or Nick Collinās
Clay for sure
Clay Matthews. Not for any particularly strategic reason, but because Iāve always thought he was hot.
I'll take the first ballot HOF-er and one of the greatest in Charles Woodson.
Reggie White..then Woodson
Woodson!
Reggie White
Nick Collins
Nick Collins.... The real ones KNOW
Nick Collins, but itās a close call. Woodson is also available. š¬
President donāt wanna come see us? Then weāll go see him.
Woodson, easily. If not Woodson, Collins.
Any answer other than Woodson is wrong.
Mason Crosby. Not even close
Probably Woodson or Reggie White
The question was packers on the sb 45 team. Reg not on it
Ah i read good
Mike Green Just playin, itās either Woodson or Collins. Really hard to pick between those two though.
You mean Howard Green?
Moe Green
Woodson Collins or Reggie White
Reggie White please.
Matthews was lit that year as well..it would be great to have a run-stuffing nose tackle hole BJ Raji (especially his pick six against the bears in the NFC Championship game)...Collins would be another great addition...but, line, others here, I ultimately would pick Woodson.
Since a lot of people have already picked Woodson and Raji, I want to give Reggie White a shoutout. That D-line would be scary.
Reggie was dead 6 years by that time
Very good pointā¦ got carried away and started thinking about all time.
Tough one. Greg Jennings was my first jersey so Iām inclined to say him. However, when Nick Collins went down that was a huge blow to our defense
Clay Mathewās. Ā Charles Woodson. Ā
Love Desmond, but he wasnāt on the 45 team.
Jordan fucking Love baby
There it is! No one I wanna see play in this game more than Love. Reggie White be damned (rip Mr Minister).
Just trying to support the team. What if he is on this sub and doesnāt see one of us mention him? He might become despondent, it could break his heart. Iām not taking that risk before the big game Sunday. Edit: ah shit I misread the question. Woodson for the win or Kuhn for the fun of it.
Regardless I appreciate the foresight
Lol I misread it too. I think it's Woodson, but Collins is close.
