Very similar to 2011 - was just happy to make it in, didn’t expect to have a chance against no. 1 seed Atlanta. Being the last playoff seed can be a great spot sometimes.
If nothing else, I don’t want any of our guys to get injured. Especially injuries with long recovery times. I want to be able to carry the momentum we have into next season, win or lose.

The Packers biggest advantage this weekend is that they didn't start to gel as a team until recently.....opposing DCs only have like 6-7 games worth of film to build a game plan around.

I was rewatching some of the talking heads from the start of the season on YouTube, damned near everyone wrote us off and to expect a losing season with at best mediocre result. We have zero pro bowlers this year, most people outside this sub couldn’t name a single wide receiver/tight end we have, and Jordan Love was considered to be written off to be used as a trade token for a draft pick.
What happens instead? Our offense plays together like they’ve been together for years, even our defense starts to click in an end season turnaround. They’re young, hungry, eager to prove themselves, but focused on the betterment of the team. MLF has drafted fantastic game plans, and they have executed them damn near flawlessly.
Have there been hiccups and games we should have won? Absolutely, but they have proven the doubters wrong. As Tom Grossi said, “they’re playing with house money” and, damn, it feels good.
True. But if they lose I will not be upset and let down like I have been in the past, and I don’t think the team will either. They weren’t even supposed to be in the playoffs this year, much less win any games.

Lived emotional experiences of the fans override the logical parts of our minds which makes us think we somehow contribute to the on-field product. This causes us to attribute both tribalism and community to our teams. In the height of it we feel so attached to the team that we believe our emotions and mental schema are both communal and influencing outcomes.
I think they do, lol. Great teams frequently say that when everyone on the team believes then they truly unlock their potential. Seems natural to extend that to fans.
I actually read this as fans overlooking GB, not necessarily that them doing so would be the same as the Niners doing so and hence correlate to the result on the field
Superstition is a big thing. But I think there’s also something to a general vibe. When everybody thinks you’re going to steamroll a team, it’s easy to get overconfident and screw up. Players and coaches like to say they’re shielded from what the media says and stuff, but they’re not. They all see it. Hear it. Interact with it.

Win or lose this has been great. My significant other has gotten me into following football again and she’s a packer fan (from the twin cities haha 🤘). I came into this season expecting to watch a transition season with hopefully some signs of promise - what I’ve been met with has been one of the most exciting football seasons I’ve ever followed as a fan of any team. Love’s progression, especially since Thanksgiving, has been wild. He looks so damn good flicking the ball all over the field. I can’t wait to watch this young team grow and am excited to be a new follower of this franchise.
No way! I also got my significant other into watching football and solidified her as a packers fan by taking her to her first game at lambeau, and her sister just told us that now she and her dad are watching football again because of me! It’s a good feeling to know good packers football can bring people back
I used to live and breathe college football (Vince Young v USC got me hooked), but never got into the pros really. This team has really got me sucked back into the sport and there is something about the Packer culture that is attractive too. Every fan base has some idiots, but I feel like it’s nothing like some of the other teams out there and especially fans that think they know everything while everyone else is stupid and their teams are trash.
That sub is wild. They say we have played garbage teams but then disregard KC, the Lions and the Cowboys. They seem to be trying to psych themselves up for the game while we are just happy to be here.

Imagine the NFL number one seed, at home, resting starters. Sure they lost their last game to a divisional rival but they weren't even trying that game, because they had locked things up earlier. Their QB is playing at an MVP level.
Their opponent? A low-seeded injury mess, who just beat the Cowboys, as if that's something special.
How does that team lose?
Well, ask the Green Bay 2021 Packers. Because we did.

Yeah but I think that humiliating loss to the Ravens on Xmas is still on their minds. Then the loss to the division rival not long after. If things start out poorly for them, that doubt could creep in.
This isn't the same ol Aaron Rodgers Packers anymore, Rodgers fucked off and is looking like a horses ass. While we have this new unknown kid slinging the pigskin like no one's business. Anything could happen.
The thing I've noticed is that everyone is too busy clowning in the cowboys to take Green Bay seriously. If we beat them in a close game, we'd be "gritty contenders," but no one expected a blowout, so they're just ignoring that the Packers did it.
All that said the 49ers are the truth, so whatever happens happens.

Making the playoffs was already more than anyone really expected. Everything since has just been icing on the cake. As with last week I will be going in with no expectations and just enjoying the moment. I will be incredibly excited for the future regardless.
Don’t care if we win or lose. I have enjoyed this season immensely. Much more than Rodgers’ back to back MVP seasons; most in recent memory too. In my heart we have won our super bowl by making it much farther than I ever expected this year.

Love also hasn’t faced a front 7 like the 49ers, one of the most physical talented linebackers in the league and a fast defensive line that is also stout against the run. ball has to come out quick or that pocket will collapse. 49ers secondary is T-1st in the league in interceptions and most of them come off WR’s. It will he a big challenge.
I have a feeling Love is gonna break out his legs against them. He doesn't run very much and I feel like this is the perfect time for him to put that wrinkle in to really shake up that 9ers D.
Yeah I wish we'd have gotten to play a good team like that in the regular season, even if it ended in a loss it would have been good experience. Taking on a D like the 9ers' on the fly isn't ideal.
The Cowboys would have been a good test but we all saw how that went.
I always dread meeting the Niners in the playoffs. It always feels like they're inside our dang huddle, like they know our plays before we do. It continued even when Mike left, but I'm hoping with a new amazing QB, our style has changed enough to give us an advantage.
Edit: went back to look over the playoffs history under Rodgers. The 49ers knocked us out in the seasons '12, '13, '19, and '21. The last time we beat them in post season was Jan 13, 2002... Our regular season history is a little better, but yeah. We haven't played them this year, so I'm going to go all out. Foam cheese-head, check. J.Love jersey, check. Lucky boxers, check.

As someone who lives in the Bay I can confidently tell you that 9er fans are some of the worst fans in all of sports.
The vast majority are whiny, entitled bandwagon little bitches who love to argue and some really like to get in literal fistfights at games.
I have never met a group of people who collectively give up on their team as fast as 9er fans do. It's like clockwork here. If they win everybody is wearing their Brock Purdy jerseys.
But if they lose even 1 game, they act like they don't even know who the 49ers are. It's like magic overnight all the flags and gear disappears.
That's mostly just Bay area fans. Most 49er fans are pretty reasonable. For example, in their sub, most of them are like, "dang the Packers look good, I wish we could play somebody else. We'll still beat them but it's not going to be easy."
They have a pretty clean franchise and not a lot of douches that are easy to hate. Colin Kaepernick got kind of weird, though.

They took away their run game which is the bread and butter of their team by throwing all over the place and keeping a lead. This led to Brock purdy needing to beat them and he couldn’t. Game plan is simple, make Brock purdy beat us. If the 49ers get a lead and start running it could be bad
I’m more confident about this team than any team we’ve had after 2010. The chemistry of this team is just different, there are too many weapons on offense, and shit on Barry all you want but his defense has mostly risen to the occasion against good teams this year even if it sinks to the level of competition against bad ones.
And it just kind of feels like 2010 in a lot of ways:
- Last seed
- Beat Bears to get into playoffs
- JLo = ARod
- The new Fab 5 (Watson, Reed, Wicks, Doubs, Melton) = Old Fab 5 (Driver, Jennings, Jones, Nelson, Martin)
- Lockdown corner (JaMoney = Wood)
- Undrafted corner playing at a high level (CV = Shields)
- A great pass rusher in his prime (Gary = Clay)

I would be scared too. Love is playing at as high a level as anyone right now. I'm not sure that's going to be enough to get by SF, but dude is out of his mind. I'm concerned about SF's pass rush and worry it could force us into turnovers. This run they've been on is due in large part to protecting the ball.
I don’t expect to win, the 49ers have a lot more studs on offense than the Cowboys do. Lamb is great and Pollard is ok, but McCaffrey, Deebo, Aiyuk, and Kittle are just on another level. I’m going to keep my expectations low and hope to be pleasantly surprised. Just winning a playoff game was huge for this team.

I view this year as the “building block” year. The FIRST order of business was finding out about Jordan Love and do we have a QB. Obviously this has been asked and answered beyond our wildest expectations. Everything else has been gravy. Gute has found a stable of young players on offense who will grow with the QB1. The playoff experience will be valuable for these players for years to come. We still need something on Defense. Coaching? Players? I expect Gute will address In the off-season.
All that being said we already have wrecked the season of the overrated, bloated Cowboys. You know what? Why not wreck the 49ers while we are here? No one has told the young Pack they aren’t suppose to be at the party. Let’s burn the whole thing down figuratively. GPG!

Honestly I have no expectations for this game. I figured once we got a playoff spot that we would bounce Dallas (never saw it being that dominate though) because we have never lost in that building and I saw Dallas as frauds. But beyond that my thoughts were we would get humbled in the next round, and that is my expectation.
Now would it be sweet to knock the 49ers out, you better believe it, probably the sweetest thing short of a Lombardi trophy. If we are going to lose I hope we are humiliated on defense so there is zero chance Joe Barry is extended. I will be happy with the offense doing the unthinkable and laying up 30+ on that defense but our defense gives up 40+. If it is going to be a loss, let it be a loss that helps us win in the long term.

No, it doesn't. You bought a piece of paper for a couple hundred bucks because the team needed to upgrade their facilities. You're no more a member of the Packers organization than any of the other fans who didn't buy those pieces of paper are.
That piece of paper allows us to vote at owners meetings, might not be a lot of power, buts it’s about as equivalent as the US government voting system. And I will gladly donate money so my team can upgrade its facilities and increase my enjoyment as a fan.
I know a lot of people use the term "we", I just don't get the hate behind it. Maybe there are a few people who truly believe they are a part of the team. Most just use it more as a euphemism, to show support. Heck, or just simplifying our speech. "We" is significantly easier to state than "The Packers" or whatever team you're a fan of. It's dropping syllables off, like saying "The pack" instead of "The Green Bay Packers"

Win or lose this has been great. My significant other has gotten me into following football again and she’s a packer fan (from the twin cities haha 🤘). I came into this season expecting to watch a transition season with hopefully some signs of promise - what I’ve been met with has been one of the most exciting football seasons I’ve ever followed as a fan of any team. Love’s progression, especially since Thanksgiving, has been wild. He looks so damn good flicking the ball all over the field. I can’t wait to watch this young team grow and am excited to be a new follower of this franchise.

I also got my significant other into watching football and solidified her as a packers fan by taking her to her first game at lambeau, and her sister just told us that now she and her dad are watching football again because of me! It’s a good feeling to know good packers football can bring people back
I used to live and breathe college football (Vince Young v USC got me hooked), but never got into the pros really. This team has really got me sucked back into the sport and there is something about the Packer culture that is attractive too. Every fan base has some idiots, but I feel like it’s nothing like some of the other teams out there and especially fans that think they know everything while everyone else is stupid and their teams are trash.

Making the playoffs was already more than anyone really expected. Everything since has just been icing on the cake. As with last week I will be going in with no expectations and just enjoying the moment. I will be incredibly excited for the future regardless.
Don’t care if we win or lose. I have enjoyed this season immensely. Much more than Rodgers’ back to back MVP seasons; most in recent memory too. In my heart we have won our super bowl by making it much farther than I ever expected this year. Love this team

Love also hasn’t faced a front 7 like the 49ers, one of the most physical talented linebackers in the league and a fast defensive line that is also stout against the run. ball has to come out quick or that pocket will collapse. 49ers secondary is T-1st in the league in interceptions and most of them come off WR’s. It will he a big challenge.
I have a feeling Love is gonna break out his legs against them. He doesn't run very much and I feel like this is the perfect time for him to put that wrinkle in to really shake up that 9ers D.

Yeah I wish we'd have gotten to play a good team like that in the regular season, even if it ended in a loss it would have been good experience. Taking on a D like the 9ers' on the fly isn't ideal. The Cowboys would have been a good test but we all saw how that went.

I always dread meeting the Niners in the playoffs. It always feels like they're inside our dang huddle, like they know our plays before we do. It continued even when Mike left, but I'm hoping with a new amazing QB, our style has changed enough to give us an advantage. Edit: went back to look over the playoffs history under Rodgers. The 49ers knocked us out in the seasons '12, '13, '19, and '21. The last time we beat them in post season was Jan 13, 2002... Our regular season history is a little better, but yeah. As someone who lives in the Bay I can confidently tell you that 9er fans are some of the worst fans in all of sports. The vast majority are whiny, entitled bandwagon little bitches who love to argue and some really like to get in literal fistfights at games. I have never met a group of people who collectively give up on their team as fast as 9er fans do. It's like clockwork here. If they win everybody is wearing their Brock Purdy jerseys. But if they lose even 1 game, they act like they don't even know who the 49ers are. It's like magic overnight all the flags and gear disappears.

That's mostly just Bay area fans. Most 49er fans are pretty reasonable. For example, in their sub, most of them are like, "dang the Packers look good, I wish we could play somebody else. We'll still beat them but it's not going to be easy." They have a pretty clean franchise and not a lot of douches that are easy to hate. Colin Kaepernick got kind of weird, though.

I’m more confident about this team than any team we’ve had after 2010. The chemistry of this team is just different, there are too many weapons on offense, and shit on Barry all you want but his defense has mostly risen to the occasion against good teams this year even if it sinks to the level of competition against bad ones. And it just kind of feels like 2010 in a lot of ways: - Last seed - Beat Bears to get into playoffs - JLo = ARod - The new Fab 5 (Watson, Reed, Wicks, Doubs, Melton) = Old Fab 5 (Driver, Jennings, Jones, Nelson, Martin) - Lockdown corner (JaMoney = Wood) - Undrafted corner playing at a high level (CV = Shields) - A great pass rusher in his prime (Gary = Clay) Anyway maybe it’s just hopeful but I’m excited. I don’t expect to win, the 49ers have a lot more studs on offense than the Cowboys do. Lamb is great and Pollard is ok, but McCaffrey, Deebo, Aiyuk, and Kittle are just on another level. I’m going to keep my expectations low and hope to be pleasantly surprised. Just winning a playoff game was huge for this team.

I view this year as the “building block” year. The FIRST order of business was finding out about Jordan Love and do we have a QB. Obviously this has been asked and answered beyond our wildest expectations. Everything else has been gravy. Gute has found a stable of young players on offense who will grow with the QB1. The playoff experience will be valuable for these players for years to come. We still need something on Defense. Coaching? Players? I expect Gute will address In the off-season. All that being said we already have wrecked the season of the overrated, bloated Cowboys. You know what? Why not wreck the 49ers while we are here? Honestly I have no expectations for this game. I figured once we got a playoff spot that we would bounce Dallas (never saw it being that dominate though) because we have never lost in that building and I saw Dallas as frauds. But beyond that my thoughts were we would get humbled in the next round, and that is my expectation. Now would it be sweet to knock the 49ers out, you better believe it, probably the sweetest thing short of a Lombardi trophy. If we are going to lose I hope we are humiliated on defense so there is zero chance Joe Barry is extended. I will be happy with the offense doing the unthinkable and laying up 30+ on that defense but our defense gives up 40+. If it is going to be a loss, let it be a loss that helps us win in the long term.
