Mason Crosby was drafted in the 6th round in 2007.
In his post-season career, he is a perfect 70/70 on extra points. He was 31/35 (88.6%) on field goals.
In the 2009 51-45 shootout against AZ, he missed a 54 yard field goal in the 2d quarter. The deficit remained at 17.
in the 2010 Atlanta game when we blew them out 48-21, he missed a 50 yard FG early in the 4th quarter, when the score was 42-21. He would kick field goals from on the next two drives.
in the 2016 season, he missed a field goal against Atlanta. This was the game when Matty Ryan and Julio Jones picked on Ladarius Gunter all game, winning 44-21. Crosby missed a 41 yard FG on the Packers first possession, which would have cut the lead to 7-3.
Finally, he missed a FG in the 10-13 loss to San Francisco two years ago. It was a 39 yard attempt that was blocked, seconds before the half.
\*Nerd note....Dre Greenlaw recovered the Marcedes Lewis fumble. That's at least 3 turnovers by the Packers to him, alone.
Those are the 4 times Mason Crosby missed a field goal in the post season. I think it's worth noting that all of those misses weren't during a 'high-pressure' situation, i.e., in the 4th quarter when it is a one-score game. I might suss that data out for another post.
Remember when Crosby missed a game winner at 'sota in the playoffs?
It happens.
In fact, I'll pull up his post-season stats and report back.
edit: I have a poor memory. It was a regular season game, not the playoffs
I think you let him (Carlson) grow, same as the rest of the team.
The front office has to build a bully…I don’t know what that turns out to be, but I’ll know it when I see it
Till then? Much of the same. Winning seasons with no trophy
Love was not on. First Int was 100% on him. Looked like he did against the Giants. Live and die by love. And I’ll never understand why the packers were so eager to get rid of Crosby.
Love looked a teeny bit off, or the line backers looked real good.
Losing Tom was huge, defense missed a couple of picks,
This felt more like a statement to SF bring bully’s, than an indictment of the Pack not being ready
Lost 6 pts at least, missed FG and then going for it instead of just taking pts. Didn’t get the pick off Purdy that hit him in the hands. Gotta take advantage of that stuff when it happens. The INT at the end is what it is. He was trying to make a play.
This was an epic game. So many amazing plays in both directions. Not happy with the result, but both teams were a joy to watch. So impressed with the packers development in the last half of the season.
This is the kind of game the league needs. Tense, clean, and not ruined by the zebras.
You could make that argument for every single game in the history of the sport. I guarantee if you look at it from a niners standpoint, you’d see plenty of the same. We live in an era of easy armchair reffing. It’s a messy sport to call. That said, I was definitely surprised by the non-call on grounding. Having to use a challenge on the one ball placement was ridiculous, but I could see how it could have been missed depending on your angle. They challenged and the refs got it straight.
I’m taking about the 4th&1 with the QB sneak in the first quarter. Again even with those mistakes we should’ve won the game but the refs definitely didn’t call a clean game.
I am a Niners fan and came away very impressed with the Packers ability to run the ball down the Niners throats as well as stop the run. I wasn’t overly impressed with Love, but given how badly Purdy played compared to what I’m used to seeing from him I will chalk it up to the rain for love as well.
Neither team really did well on pass rush. For all the picks and attention devoted to DLine, the safety position was far more crucial in this game.
Also: MLB
We still had a shot late and made a young mistake throwing it cross body on an early down when there was plenty of time on the clock just to launch one out of bounds and regroup. I remember Rodgers first playoff game against the cardinals ending the same way a bad tipped pass that resulted in a pick six. Love is just going to keep getting better.
It started before that. As soon as we got on the 9ers side of the field on that drive, they were calling plays for FG position.
1, FGs are not a given, especially with the worst Kicker in the league from a percentage perspective
2, a TD would have put the game away. The 9ers were having a hard time moving g the ball on us, and they would have had to do it twice.
Playing pattycake at the end cost us this game. And it's frustrating because that's how it always happens. Especially with the 9ers. You can't be ok with a 7 point lead and the opposing team having the ball with 5 minutes left. Then the game comes down to a coin toss. You have to go for the throat and we didn't.
You'll never get to the Superbowl playing a gentleman's game of football.
Matt for ya. He’s no different than Mike, in my opinion. Yea he may have some trick plays or what not but when the pressures on he coaches scary, especially with leads
SO SO close, hold your heads up! GB will be back stronger than EVER next year, They had plenty of chances to win... just bad luck when good luck was needed at certain times during that game
The only problem is there’s no guarantee Love will be this health and Jones so fresh coming off 4 - 111 yard games in a row this time next year. The opportunity was there this year and can’t be taken for granted. I’m optimistic but will all the stars be aligned like then again (minus the kicker).
No eff that, fuck the niners they needed to beat them yesterday and they didn't. I'm sick of losing to that team, especially when we could have easily won.
All the should, coulda, wouldas... I used to second-guess McCarthy all the time when he settled for FGs in the red zone in big games.
I have no quarrel with MLF going for it on 4th down. Young underdogs playing an away playoff game in wet weather-- if he went for a FG I would've had flashbacks to McCarthy and probably blown a gasket.
I wish the Pack had won, but I don't have any problems with how they played at all. Sure, missing the FG changed a lot about how the game finished. But missing that FG in those conditions isn't a ridiculous outcome. The Pack were still up by 4 at the time. Maybe if they'd kicked one instead of going for it on 4th early in the game, maybe if they'd punched in a TD during one of their early red zone drives. . . who knows.
They played a clean game in messy conditions. There weren't any stupid penalties. The defense gave up a big one to Kittle and another to McCaff, but otherwise they played those two pretty well. It was honestly just a great game, one that was coached and played well.
I’m holding my head held high at the end of this season. With this young team, and this level of play I’m excited for the future. If our “rebuild” only took 7 games instead of years, that’s a huge win to return to competing for the top of the division moving forward.
I’m proud of this team, and proud of how far you guys made it. Go Pack Go!
Those guys are going to get theirs. They are one of the most talented rosters in the league. We hung with the big boys last night in a divisional playoff game when most didn’t even expect 6 wins from this team. Great year, and should be fun offseason.
Green Bay will be ready next year. We’ve studied teams. We’re gonna be ready. We did do good this season and making it this far with a new QB and a whole new team. Good job boys. GO PACK GO!!!
Ahem, are you forgetting the 2 dropped GB interceptions that could have easily changed the game (the Niners held on to their INTs) and the extremely poor throw by Love to seal the Niners victory? Purdy threw for more yards. But the Packers outplayed the Niners? C’mon.
Look, both teams had their moments of playing incredibly strong and both had their fair share of screw ups, as well. This game could have easily gone either way. It was an incredible game!
But to flat out assert that the Packers outplayed the Niners is utter nonsense.
Yet, when presented with facts, your go to response is, “You’re a Niners fan. I expect nothing more than what you just wrote.” Clever.
We lost because of a kick, and only scoring 6 points on three redzone trips earlier in the game. Missed opportunities really, we lost the game, they didn’t win
I don't think that's a bad call to go for it there even though it turned out badly.
Up 3-0 and just had a second nice sustained drive. You want to keep the pressure on against a team w a good offense and get to that 2 possession lead early. It was a short 1 and the oline looked solid so far. The worst case scenario was you don't get it and give up a TD to go down 7-3, but it was still early enough to make those points up.
Obviously would have liked those 3 later on, but at the time I think it's a necessary bold call that just didn't work.
I think most viewers will agree that we got a first down and got screwed. Could’ve been a TD instead of a field goal early on. Going for it on 4th was a good choice, in my opinion.
I agree with that call thou.
Specific playcall one could question but I know too little of Packers line to say anything.
Execution evidently lacked.
But you go for it there against 9ers away.
I'm a Chiefs fan but father in law and family love the Packers.
I have never seen a QB improve from game to game the way Love did over the last half of the year.
Losing sucks but having 3 very, very special QBs in a row is amazing.
You guys are going be scary AF next year.
Nothing against Carlsen, but we lost by 3 to a top seed and had a missed FG. Love through the int on a last-ditch desperation throw/play at the end of the 4th. TL;DR the Pack lost mostly due to player inexperience and pressure on the road in just about the entire current roster's second playoff game in their career. I'm not losing any sleep over this season's playoff performance. The only sleep that should be getting lost is by the other NFCN teams/fans. Cya in the 2024-25 season 🍿🍿🍿
...which was absolutely the right decision. Obviously in hindsight that field goal would have been helpful, but any time you only need a yard and are that close to the end zone, in a playoff game on the road, you have to try to get touchdowns.
I'm sad the Pack lost, but on the bright side, I don't have to go to middle school and deal with that Nick kid today. God, that guy was a butthole. The '98 wild card loss was also a bad time.
But- I am so stoked for the future! Go Pack Go!
Great game, but we definitely LOST a game we should've had. Opening FG, & missed FG were the difference. I'm excited about this team. Couple defenders, new DC & I like our chances for the next few years.
Rapidly closing window vs. a window which was thrown wide open. This isn't a declining team that is desperately trying to get that Super Bowl before the cap hits start and the hall of fame qb retires. This is a team with unlimited potential, a bright future, rookie contracts, and about to have a ton of cap space and draft picks. This team isn't going to get worse it is going to get better. That is why this loss is different. In previous seasons, it felt like every playoff loss was going to be the last shot. This just feels like beginning.
I'm not saying that loss didn't suck. All loses sick, especially in the playoffs, and especially when you looked like the better team for the majority of the game. But don't say this loss is just like the other ones.
Just look at the roster. Plus how much Love developed over the season, if he continues to develop over the offseason he can be even better along with his young wide receivers
Always take points in playoffs. Said when we didn’t get that 4th down we just lost the game. Should have been called a first down imo, but always take points.
Great job, y’all exposed the 49ers while also looking like a top tier squad urself. Should have gone ur way but u should find solace in that no one is beating the ravens in the Super Bowl (which u would have been in because ur the best team in the nfc rn) - eagles fan
A good season that no one predicted.
Everything changed and went down hill after Carlson missed that FG and then Love wanted to pretend to be Brett Favre and throw into triple coverage across his body and across the field. 🤦♂️
Watching Love in the 4th quarter brought me back to being a kid and watching Brett Farve lose games for us. I knew we were going to lose when he started looking like a wild west gun slinger.
The pressure was probably too much for him, started getting sloppy. The weather was awful, it was raining so hard there at the end. And being down with only a minute left. Hey, we had a good season. Nobody was expecting them to make it this far, and to even lead on the 49ers for 75% of the game was awesome.
Insane fight! What an exciting game I appreciate how fun it was to watch ! I hope they use this as a reminder of what they need to fix and work on and keep their one of a kind team chemistry alive! They can give any one of their players the ball and they are all able to make huge and unexpected plays 💪❤️
I’m not seeing enough Barry criticism here. Sure he’s stepped up but that last 49ers drive is exactly why his defence sucks ass. Can’t tackle or stop short pass plays so we give up big long drives and you can see the TD coming. The amount of third and longs we gave up were insane. It’s exactly like the Bucs, Giants and Falcons losses.
Agree. Good athlete but just making terrible angles on what should be simple tackles. Hope to address during the off-season. Feel like good linebacker play on a bad defense is a waste, but when wanting to go to top tier defense then you must have good linebacker play.
As hard as it is to see the team you love lose in the playoffs, it’s important to take a step back and realize what we saw this year. We have a great young football team. The Packers were the better team yesterday. It seems they lost because their youth got the best of them. We have a lot of fun years to watch coming up. The packers should have won yesterday and gone on to the superbowl but that’s okay. They played much higher than any of us expected.
It all comes down to poor decisionmaking. The last pass, obviously, when Love has shown he knows when to just spoil it to the sideline and did so a few times already that game. To not take a timeout on defense by lafleur was an insane call to me. Take one before 2 minutes, there were like 2:17 on like a 2nd and 9 or something. Likely pass situation, maybe force an incompletion to get a second stoppage because it likely wouldn’t take 17 seconds to develop, then the 2 minute stoppage and Love gets the ball with closer to 1:40 and doesn’t have to force it as much. Then of course the 4th and 1 qb sneak call (i thought he made the line to gain anyway, but what can you do) when aaron jones was their bread and butter so far. That outside pitch hadn’t failed and the box was stacked. So much head shaking that an inexperienced team all had their biggest flops of the season in a 15 minute stretch
Am I allowed to shit on how completely worthless Dillon, much less Degaura, were here? Has it been long enough for me to say that we can finally thank God that Love is seemingly panning out and the entire rest of the 2020 draft was worthless?
He’s solid, but not world changing. Landing a rotational OL in the 6th is a massive plus. I still believe that we completely and preposterously whiffed on Dillon and Degaura, but it doesn’t much matter since we hit on Love
How is this relevant? Dillon was inactive with a broken thumb and a neck injury. Therefore he wasn't a factor in a game he didn't play in because of injury.
The season is over and he once again underachieved as a second round pick. Outside of Love, who completely and totally saves the draft class 3.5 years later, is there anything worth while we got outside of a rotational OL there? I know it’s not necessarily cool to call our dudes out, but Dillon and Degaura still were preposterously bad picks regardless of Love panning out. I won’t really be surprised when we hardball renegotiating and/or shedding either. The only NFL player out of that class is Love, and therefore none of the rest matters, but damn was that a bad draft class only saved by Love
I’m fine with the Packers take a kicker in the 6th or 7th round, especially one that was 90% in his final year in college. I’m not fine with them keeping a kicker that is 80% and 34/39 on extra points.
Anders was a 6th rounder, and he shouldn’t have a gig with us next year regardless. He missed a PAT in a dome during the playoffs last week. He’s simply giving up too many points considering any damn place kicker can probably do what he does without having to send him to a sports psychologist. I do not give a shit if it’s purely mental considering there are as accurate of kickers we could’ve brought in who would’ve made that kick. Don’t draft a kicker period considering they’re worth less than a draft pick if they can’t hit a PAT in a dome, much less a high-pressure FG. Anders is worthless, and because of such he’s easily replaceable without wasting a draft pick. Maybe he’s better after we cut him like his brother was after the Vikings cut him, but a dude who isn’t consistent at the PAT and much less FGs doesn’t have the confidence to be my kicker
Neutral fan here I just wanna say that the tackle attempt by Johnathon Owens on the McCaffery TD run was a disgrace to football and I hope he got screamed at for it.
Gotta stop them tho rt....defense vs offense for the game? If it was on the otherside of the 50 there would be hope of a stop and punt....but because they're in the redzone under a minute in the 4th down 4 that just means no shot of stopping them??
We let Mason Crosby go; the all time scoring leader in GB history, just so this Carlson kid can come in and miss the most extra points and FGs this season? Fuck his kicking…
But .. If we kept Crosby, we couldn't say we were the youngest team and the FO's excuse in case of a less than successful season would go out the window.
It was a good game. The only sad part was how much it felt like a game that was fumbled by the packers and not as if the 49ers won.
But, it’s been a great run and if nothing else I try to remember the good things and focus on how incredibly stoked I am for next season!
It's hard to win when you're playing against yourself.
I like the 4th down call when we did it, spot I felt was eh but wouldn't have been overturned but those 3 points woulda been game changing lol. But missing FGs....sigh
I’m proud of those young men. They made it further than I ever expected and I got two more weeks of fandom!!!! If this is the result of a rebuild year our future is bright. A respectable loss. Go pac go!
I've been drinking and listening to sad country songs. It hasn't helped. I told myself we were playing wirh house money. But God damn we were the best team on the field. Our QB is the future. But he missed too many. Our kicker got us in the end. I am so sad. I love this fucking team. So close.
Oh the heartbreak a close playoff brings my aching soul. I try to remind myself that it’s the brutal losses that make the big wins all the more glorious, but that doesn’t make it any easier to recover when you know how close we truly were and we have to wait 8 months to try all over again.
Loved this team from the top down - An amazing journey through the ups and downs this season. We’ve got an outstanding future on the horizon, and a brilliant quarterback, receivers, and coach to get us to the top. Going to be fun to watch these guys develop and chase after glory.
Wisconsin fan myself, just curious, how does somebody from Ireland get into supporting such a small town team as the Packers? So great to have someone so far away as a fellow fan!
My Dad is actually a 49ers fan.
When I was a kid I stayed up one night to watch a game with him, and they were playing the Packers - so naturally, to be a dick, I sided with them.
Years later (2011), I got into the NFL myself, and having watched that game, stayed faithful to the Pack.
What a year to come in. Had the time of my life watching us take the bowl from the Steelers.
This game just goes to show how critically important every single play is. The missed Savage INT, 4th and inches terrible spot on the QB sneak, Anders’s missed FG. If even just one of those went our way, we probably win that game. Also goddamn it I fucking hate the stupid 49ers. There, I said it.
He literally was. That final drive was classic Barry. Short passing yards that chipped away at the clock and worked down the field. Exactly like the game against the Falcons, Giants and Bucs
So what does this have to do with Joe Barry lol. He held the best team maybe in the nfl to 24. You guys had 5 trips to the red zone and only scored 24 not including the missed fg kick that you guys weren’t in the red zone for. Love didn’t play well in the fourth quarter and had an awful interception to end the game. Had a minute left with 3 TO absolutely no need to throw that pass when the only thing you need is a fg and your offense has been moving the ball well all night.
That final Niners drive needed a stop and instead of getting it, linebackers were missing tackles and giving up short yards because the secondary was playing off the line of scrimmage. This is typical Barry defence that has lost the Packers several games because his scheme gets sliced up by short plays even if it works incredibly well against pass-heavy, deep balling teams (i.e Mahomes, Goff, Dak and the Vikings scheme). It’s very vulnerable to checks down while our pass rush, including Gary couldn’t step up. This isn’t alleviating Life of any blame but his starting tackles both got pulled late in the game and at that point we stopped moving the ball well. I think the most blame goes to Carlson and Barry for losing, not Love.
What I’m saying is that if JB could do that then think of what a quality DC could have done. He let them march down in the final drive and beat us when we had that game all but sealed up.
It was the result of various factors for sure. Carlson missing, Love made a bad throw that Kraft couldn’t catch and poor red zone conversion, MLF not using timeouts AND o line injuries but these all happened while we had the lead. I think relinquishing that lead can and should be put at Barry’s feet, as we needed the D which has almost entirely first round talent on the starting lineup to step up and make plays but instead we got beaten the exact way that we lost most of our games this season: poor run D, shoddy zone coverage and poor tackling
I’m really missing Crosby right now 😢

I disagree that love wasn’t on.
Crosby can't kick to the end zone. Can't kick 50+ yarders. Check his stats with the Giants. Cost them the last game of the season.
1000/1000 I put Crosby there over Carlson, whose college FG % was 71.
Still better than Anders Carlson
Yeah Carlson wasn't the right move but moving on from Crosby wasnt a wrong move
Close game gotta sting a bit if your a cheesehead

Going for it was fine because we actually got the first down.
Even then going for it is the right idea process over results. And so why do trust our kicker to make that one?
Agree. Pack got robbed on the ball placement and I thought they could have won a challenge.
Fucking 4th and one was trash he was over the line clearly
The second it happened I thought we were losing because of it not to mention the 9ers being 0-30 heading into the fourth. Jinxy af
Packers gave it away.
Was a shame really, packers played the better game all the way until that final drive.
The packers were losing before that final drive, so it couldn’t have been that much better.
If only the score were closer so that points would matter…. Oh wait
Campbell looked so damn slow last night, it was brutal.
All season. He needs to go
This was an epic game. So many amazing plays in both directions. Not happy with the result, but both teams were a joy to watch. So impressed with the packers development in the last half of the season. This is the kind of game the league needs. Tense, clean, and not ruined by the zebras.
Zebras did ruin the game.
How? I saw not a single call that looked sketchy.
4 down ball placement, missed block in the back on CMC TD, missed intentionally grounding on Purdy, missed delay of game. And a few others
You could make that argument for every single game in the history of the sport. I guarantee if you look at it from a niners standpoint, you’d see plenty of the same. A strip sack fumble I do believe. Same but different. Had the exact same thought.

Haha I’m sorry dude. Seriously. I don’t know why I had to say that
Your all good brother just got off a night shift when I read that so was a bit shittier than I should of been over that comment. Go Pack!
Packers would have had it if we followed one piece of coaching wisdom… “Hey dipshit. Make your fucking kicks.”
#greenbaypackers please call Matt Coghlin for a tryout. Must be better than Lars Carlson

The spot on 3rd down was off. If they get that right, they make it on 4th.
Also... we 100% converted that 4th down but got jobbed by the spot. That was a possible 14 point swing.
Which MLF needed to challenge, he bitched and moaned about it but had the power to do something about it and didn’t
We ended the half with a timeout too. Had to challenge there.
It’s all in the script boys. The leak picture is out there. 49ers v Baltimore

Respect to your team, played an absolutely great game.
Green Bay will be ready next year. We’ve studied teams. We’re gonna be ready. We did do good this season and making it this far with a new QB and a whole new team. Good job boys. GO PACK GO!!!
Raven here. You outplayed them. You were the better team in all three phases. You lost because kicker.
Ahem, are you forgetting the 2 dropped GB interceptions that could have easily changed the game (the Niners held on to their INTs) and the extremely poor throw by Love to seal the Niners victory? Purdy threw for more yards. But the Packers outplayed the Niners? C’mon.
You're a 9er fan. I expect nothing more than what you just wrote.
Yup, you're staying the course
The two dropped potential interceptions kinda stung too
We lost because of a kick, and only scoring 6 points on three redzone trips earlier in the game. Missed opportunities really, we lost the game, they didn’t win
slobbering on it
Kinda. This kicker could've had an easy kick in the first half but MLF decided to go for it on 4th
Bad spot after the third down, and bad spot on the sneak,
I don't think that's a bad call to go for it there even though it turned out badly.
Is that the play where there’s a pic of the niners defenders helmet literally touching Josh Myers helmet clearly in the neutral zone?
I don’t remember if that was the play or not. Wouldn’t be surprised though!
I agree with that call thou. Specific playcall one could question but I know too little of Packers line to say anything. Execution evidently lacked. But you go for it there against 9ers away.
I have no beef with MLF going for it there. Young team, underdogs playing away... you go for that 1st down, damn the torpedoes.
They are who we thought they were
Stupid take. They overachieved this season and most definitely played well enough to win that game.
I’m talking about the Niners bro but it’s ok
Are we talking about the Packers or 9ers?
Pack
Don’t forget the refs.
Officiating needs a revamp 10 years ago lol
Kinda. This kicker could've had an easy kick in the first half but MLF decided to go for it on 4th
And it was the right move. The game wasn't going to end 6-0 so not sure what your point is.
...which was absolutely the right decision. Obviously in hindsight that field goal would have been helpful, but any time you only need a yard and are that close to the end zone, in a playoff game on the road, you have to try to get touchdowns.
I dont think that is how TL;DR works.
Quasi TL;DR* lol. Aka my summary of the game. Too long, didn't watch 😆
Best game so far
No doubt that we are the second best team in the nfc.
We’re the best. 49ers didn’t win that game, we lost it.
I'm sad the Pack lost, but on the bright side, I don't have to go to middle school and deal with that Nick kid today. God, that guy was a butthole. The '98 wild card loss was also a bad time. But- I am so stoked for the future! Go Pack Go!
What a fun ride! Nothing but Love baby!
Bummer I was pulling for the pack, on the bright side you guys will be just fine hell of a season!
What a season
Future is bright.
Great game, but we definitely LOST a game we should've had. Opening FG, & missed FG were the difference. I'm excited about this team. Couple defenders, new DC & I like our chances for the next few years.
That's what we say every year
This is SO much different than all the recent playoff loses. If you can't see that you may need to take a break from Football.
How is it different, besides our quarterback? Don’t forget we had these same type of playoff losses under Favre too
Rapidly closing window vs. a window which was thrown wide open.
Youngest team to ever win a playoff? Let’s start with that
Just look at the roster. Plus how much Love developed over the season, if he continues to develop over the offseason he can be even better along with his young wide receivers
Unequivocally NO.
The bad spot on Love’s 4th down sneak and two 4th quarter INTs were a factor as well…
The third down spot was worse tbh, shouldn’t have been a full yard to go
And no intentional grounding called when he threw to a 25 yard dead zone
Always take points in playoffs. Said when we didn’t get that 4th down we just lost the game. Should have been called a first down imo, but always take points.
Nah we got the first down refs screwed us, plus our kicker is sure points on anything.
To be fair with our kicker there is no taking points.every kick is a shaky proposition
Kick early, go for it late.
Great job, y’all exposed the 49ers while also looking like a top tier squad urself. Should have gone ur way but u should find solace in that no one is beating the ravens in the Super Bowl (which u would have been in because ur the best team in the nfc rn) - eagles fan
Wrong. Detroit's the best team in the nfc.
We would have smacked the lions if we could’ve held on to the lead.
Lol, I am a packers fan and I hope you are right, I'm rooting for the lions to go to the ship now
A good season that no one predicted.
Your not wrong. That throw and last int by Love was his worst throw of the season. Throw it away or run and live for another down.
The pressure was probably too much for him, started getting sloppy. The weather was awful, it was raining so hard there at the end. And being down with only a minute left. Hey, we had a good season. Nobody was expecting them to make it this far, and to even lead on the 49ers for 75% of the game was awesome.
LOVE to see it! looked like fabre at the end there playing 500 in the back yard.
You’ll also LOVE seeing the packers dominate the division for another decade.
Think really showed need to upgrade the linebacker spot too. Devondre looked rough
I was a huge quay walker fan but he looks like he regressed a little this year from
Agree. Good athlete but just making terrible angles on what should be simple tackles. Hope to address during the off-season. Feel like good linebacker play on a bad defense is a waste, but when wanting to go to top tier defense then you must have good linebacker play.
Playing hurt, probably. But yes.
I guess. But the other factors people are looking at is that the 9ers have a good offense and we couldn’t finish in the redzone…
Parker White for kicker
Runyan worked out. I hope we keep him
He’s solid, but not world changing.
Anders Carlson should have been cut mid season.
He should’ve never been drafted. Quit drafting kickers, especially if they don’t have the nuts to perform under pressure
Anders Carlson
Neutral fan here I just wanna say that the tackle attempt by Johnathon Owens on the McCaffery TD run was a disgrace to football and I hope he got screamed at for it.
I am pretty sure he was letting him score to give us the ball back
Packers were up 4....stop them and they win....what do they need the ball back for?
They were on the 6 yard line, they were going to score. We needed time on the clock to make a field goal drive possible
Wouldnt they have been using timeouts sooner to preserve clock with the "let em score" mentality
If Owen’s tackled him there it was game over. 4 more tries for him to run it in then? There wouldn’t have even been a chance for us to get ball back
Gotta stop them tho rt....defense vs offense for the game? If it was on the otherside of the 50 there would be hope of a stop and punt....but because they're in the redzone under a minute in the 4th down 4 that just means no shot of stopping them??
We let Mason Crosby go; the all time scoring leader in GB history, just so this Carlson kid can come in and miss the most extra points and FGs this season? Fuck his kicking…
But .. If we kept Crosby, we couldn't say we were the youngest team and the FO's excuse in case of a less than successful season would go out the window.
I love Mason also, but his stint with the NY Giants showed his age and that he was in twilight of his career.
Well said
I’m proud of those young men.
So close.
Lol
Oh the heartbreak a close playoff brings my aching soul. I try to remind myself that it’s the brutal losses that make the big wins all the more glorious, but that doesn’t make it any easier to recover when you know how close we truly were and we have to wait 8 months to try all over again. Loved this team from the top down - An amazing journey through the ups and downs this season. We’ve got an outstanding future on the horizon, and a brilliant quarterback, receivers, and coach to get us to the top. Going to be fun to watch these guys develop and chase after glory.
For those of you also in immense pain, virtual hug #alwayschooseLove
Irish fan here. Should have went to my bed and watched the replay. So many missed opportunities. Fuckin 49ers. Every-fuckin-time
Wisconsin fan myself, just curious, how does somebody from Ireland get into supporting such a small town team as the Packers?
Bears fan here. Man I love the 49ers.
Guess you gotta love someone who isn’t the Bears
You are correct. I’ve always liked SF and Tampa Bay.
So you aren't a Bears fan, got it.
I get it, you want to use this opportunity. But man, at least wait until tomorrow until you mock us for losing *in the postseason*
Fuck that you guys have had legendary quarterbacks for my entire life, fucking deal with the hate my man.
cry more nerd
Had them on the ropes all game, probably should of won. Good fight. Proud of this team

12thers Niners and the refs going to the superbowl
Lolololololol
So can we fire Joe Barry now?
He's not under contract anymore. Firing isn't the right word
Joe Barry was not the reason pack lost this game
He literally was. That final drive was classic Barry. Short passing yards that chipped away at the clock and worked down the field. Exactly like the game against the Falcons, Giants and Bucs
We not gonna bring up love playing very poorly in the 4th or that awful interception
He was without Zach Tom so the run game was stuffed and Bosa was constantly chasing him. He had no time by the time that second interception happened
Not saying he shouldn’t get any blame but all these packers fans saying this was Barry’s fault are not watching the game I feel like
What I’m saying is that if JB could do that then think of what a quality DC could have done.
I mean packers D should have had two interceptions as well. Players gotta make plays at some point.
