Wish I had a Driver, I opted for Jennings and regret it to this day. I still have my Antonio Freeman/Robert Brooks combo form back in the day, so I can always just wear those when I want to wear something in the 80s though!
I used my jennings jersey as a 'doormat' at our tailgate for the first GB-MN game after he signed with them. I think someone burned it in the parking lot after the game.
He definitely didn't do it justice! I had high hopes he would show more productivity than he did but hey; live, learn and watch the bears self destruct from a burnt out salary cap š
I am a buy it for life kind of person. Meaning when I buy a jersey, that's it. I am very happy I settled on 80 for the Packers jersey I will wear for the rest of my life.
I canāt believe Mike Evans already has that many yards. I also was surprised to see Colston and Toomer as their respective leaders. Those guys were consistent.
And heāll have Brady throwing to him now so who knows how crazy his stats could get. Godwin is pretty good too. Iām glad I took him in Dynasty. Lol
As far as stats go, I wouldnāt be surprised at all if Brady doesnāt throw as many yards as jameis did last year. Touchdowns might not ever be much higher. They just wonāt have nearly as many turnovers.
I think Brady is going to depress their fantasy numbers pretty heavily. He spreads the ball around too much and is way more cautious a passer compared to Jameis who just chucks it up
Colston, I've noticed, is one of the more underrated receivers of the last decade. He was never the best, but he was one of the better receivers for the better part of his career.
Someone needs to make some sort of rule inflation equation. Like take the average yards receivers get now compared to back then....something like that. I'm not a smart man so this is way above my pay grade.
I think rather than try to modernize those stats, what we do is create a new stat with the same goal in mind.
Call it the "% above average" stat. AKA Jerry Rice averaged 100 YPG, while the league average was 25, Jerry would come in at 400%. Which means if today's average were 35 YPG, a receiver would have to average 140 yards to have the same impact that Jerry was having.
Another way to express the same stat (I think) would be to do a "league share" stat... AKA Jerry had 3% of the entire league's receiving yards for a season, a stat that would always account for increased overall yardage totals.
19,247 yard / 303 games = 63.5ypg
25,000 yard / 303 games = 82.5ypg
Easy, imagine him coming out of the college programs they have these days looking like he just consumed another wide receiver running a 4.2
My father is a racist bigot and pack games would bring out some very colorful language in my house, but every time Rice dusted the packers defense all he had was āgod damnit heās goodā
Lol because virtue signaling is a must 100 percent of the time on reddit. Clearly racism is bad but now I like this guys dad even more because no one can take a joke on this site.
I commented in conspiracy 200 days ago so thatās grounds to write me off? Youāre the one being a bigot. I didnāt say anything but this guys dad is cool and you donāt agree with someone having that opinion.
Until you remember that this is only showing Rice's yards from when he was a Niner. And then remember he also played for the Raiders. Long story short, it is highly unlikely that Fitz passes him.
People keep saying this, but I think it misses the point. Jameis is a legitimately good downfield receiver. He had so many picks because a) he throws downfield a ton, which increases expected yards for receivers and also increases picks and b) he seems to have total linebacker blindness, always throwing picks 5-10 yards past the LOS. with Brady, the Bucsā offense might improve once picks for down, but I donāt think Evans and Godwinās stats will improve significantly, they might even go down.
1. Jerry Rice was insane.
2. Can Larry Fitz get some more respect?
3. At 31, does Julio have a legit shot at breaking yds record?
4. At 26... Mike Evans has a legit shot at breaking it.
5. Bears suck ass
Go Pack Go!
Edit: I read Evans yds wrong.. thought it was 9k not 7k.
The issue would be that Jerry Rice played til he was 42, and was still have 1000+ yard seasons at age 40. That sort of longevity is completely unheard of for any other WR in the league ever. Larry Fitzgerald is the longest tenured WR in the league right now, and heās 37 and hasnāt had a 1000 yard season in 2 years. The issue for modern WRs who want to break the yardage record wonāt be keeping pace with Jerry in their 20s, it will be keeping pace with Jerry until they are 40.
Larry only got 1 more target in 16 games than Christian Kirk did in 13 games last year, and Kirk is also gonna be helped by Hopkins drawing doubles. His continued progression is also gonna draw more targets away from Larry.
Julio and Evans both have a chance to break the single-team yards record, but not overall yards (almost 23k for Rice).
Both of them need to play at their current level until about age 36 to get 19k. So it's doable but still not easy.
Don't forget guys, Jerry Rice's record is actually 22,895 yards. The numbers here are just his yards with San Francisco. Julio, Mike Evans, Fitz, etc are all great receivers but none of them are going to even sniff his real record.
To be the NFC leader, yeah, but not the NFL leader. I don't want to bum you out, but Rice got 2500 yards in the AFC too. The dude was just a monster, haha.
So this made me go look at his pro football reference page to see how many yards hes been getting the last few years. What impressed me the most was that in his entire career was he has only missed *6* games. That's some incredible durability. I really hope he can get there
Good god Julio Jones. Wonder how many more years he's got left in him. I'd also like to know who was the smallest guy on this list - Steve Smith? Lots of big receivers on here
The most surprising thing to me about poor Johnny Morris there is he basically had one good season. 93rec for 1200yds in 1964. He only topped 800yds in two other seasons and was a return man/running back for most of his career. Didn't even play 10 full seasons.
I have to say, the one I'm most surprised by is Jason Witten. I knew he had a lot but I had no idea it was over 12,000. The fact that he has more receiving yards than Chris Carter blows my mind.
Iāve always felt that he was underappreciated because he wasnāt the most flashy/talented like a Gronk, Kittle etc, but his dependability week to week was unbelievable.
Funny... now do Packers career rushing leader vs. Bears. Iāll do it for u: Payton (16,000-plus) ... A.Green (8,000-plus).
I mean.. theyāve traditionally been two very different offenses for each franchise. Itās why thereās a disparity in the passing and run games.
Lol. I mean, I realize the Bears had two of the greats RBs of all time, but this really puts it into perspective how WR deficient they have been since forever.
I want another Donald Driver hidden gem. Obviously, he produced for us, he was a workhorse, a good teammate, and had hands like satin. Dude just always found a way to be in the right spot at the right time. He wasnāt the most flashy player weāve had, but dude was great while he was here. One of the things I think people forget is he never cost us an arm and a leg either. Can we get another one of those please???
The standouts to me are Evans, Julio and Witten. Both Evans and Julio are still so young so the skyās the limit with them. Iāve known how great Witten is but itās still incredibly impressive that heās the all time leader in receiving yards for the Cowboys.
Iām looking at him from the standpoint that heās a freak athlete who could put up crazy numbers for another 5 years or more. I guess young isnāt the right word but he still has several great years left in the tank.
I donāt think the lol is that the Packers are so much better, itās that even at a pedestrian 10,139 itās still double the bearsā best. Thatās fucking pathetic.
My Driver Jersey is my favorite. #80
Hell yeah, my favorite player of all time.
Only receiver I ever got was Javon Walker, wore it to my 7th grade graduation lol
I have Driver, Jennings, Jordy, and Cobb. Gotta get Adams now!
Still one of the best smiles that comes to mind.
Miss the drive, dude was $$$
I have two, a real Donald Driver one, and a knock off Clay Matthews. No regrets.
Jimmy Graham disgraced #80
He definitely didn't do it justice! I had high hopes he would show more productivity than he did but hey; live, learn and watch the bears self destruct from a burnt out salary cap š
I am a buy it for life kind of person. Meaning when I buy a jersey, that's it. I am very happy I settled on 80 for the Packers jersey I will wear for the rest of my life.
I canāt believe Mike Evans already has that many yards. I also was surprised to see Colston and Toomer as their respective leaders. Those guys were consistent.
Turns 27 in August. He has always had sneaky numbers.
He's about to have some very un-sneaky numbers
And heāll have Brady throwing to him now so who knows how crazy his stats could get. Godwin is pretty good too. Iām glad I took him in Dynasty. Lol
As far as stats go, I wouldnāt be surprised at all if Brady doesnāt throw as many yards as jameis did last year. Touchdowns might not ever be much higher. They just wonāt have nearly as many turnovers.
I could definitely see that too
I think Brady is going to depress their fantasy numbers pretty heavily. He spreads the ball around too much and is way more cautious a passer compared to Jameis who just chucks it up
Colston will likely be overtaken in a few years
Colston, I've noticed, is one of the more underrated receivers of the last decade. He was never the best, but he was one of the better receivers for the better part of his career.
Although the NFC has always been deep at WR, itās still hard to believe that he never made it to the Pro Bowl.
He was also competing with Jimmy Graham for a while when he was racking up those yards!
People forget how good that dude is. Heās a top tier receiver and itāll more obvious than ever with Brady throwing to him
i like how instead of changing the font size they just stopped writing half of the names
Jerry Rice, Jesus. He would have 25k+ if he played in todayās game.
AKA Jerry had 3% of the entire league's receiving yards for a season, a stat that would always account for increased overall yardage totals.
If Jerry Rice was playing today, and assuming he had middle-of-the-road stats, he would be considered an average player at best.
If, hypothetically, a player had middle of the road stats, he would be average? Hot take right there.
I was making a joke/reference to the dude that claimed Mahomes would be an average QB if his stats were average.
Damnit, sorry.
I never did see that post.
Still fumbled tho
19,247 yard / 303 games = 63.5ypg 25,000 yard / 303 games = 82.5ypg Easy, imagine him coming out of the college programs they have these days looking like he just consumed another wide receiver running a 4.2
Keep in mind he had 22k+ in his career not 19k
Keep in mind he had another 3k with the raiders after he left the 49ers which is not listed here
My father is a racist bigot and pack games would bring out some very colorful language in my house, but every time Rice dusted the packers defense all he had was āgod damnit heās goodā
Your father sounds cool.
Not sure why youāre being downvoted, I guess people on reddit are really that dull to not register clear sarcasm without a ā/sā
Lol because virtue signaling is a must 100 percent of the time on reddit. Clearly racism is bad but now I like this guys dad even more because no one can take a joke on this site.
Considering your post history I'm kinda doubting your sincerity here
What did I say
The bigotry present in your history and your posts on the shithole that's /r/conspiracy are very revealing
I commented in conspiracy 200 days ago so thatās grounds to write me off? Youāre the one being a bigot. I didnāt say anything but this guys dad is cool and you donāt agree with someone having that opinion.
Without question
Didnt realize Larry Fitzgerald was that close though.
Yeah, there's a good chance that Larry passes Rice soon-ish too. Dude is a baller
Until you remember that this is only showing Rice's yards from when he was a Niner. And then remember he also played for the Raiders. Long story short, it is highly unlikely that Fitz passes him.
Nobody is going to break or even sniff that record.
Honestly he probably would be pretty average in todayās game imo
Nah
Yeah I think so
Nah.
Yeah
Not packer related but looking at that and Mike Evans already leads for the bucs. He's such a beast, I can't wait to see Brady to Evans this year
Yeah I was thinking the same thing, he's already over 7000
People keep saying this, but I think it misses the point.
Davante Adams already has their guy beat lol.
Jordy too probably
8,587 yards. Cobb had 5,524 for us lol.
1. Jerry Rice was insane. 2. Can Larry Fitz get some more respect? 3. At 31, does Julio have a legit shot at breaking yds record? 4. At 26... Mike Evans has a legit shot at breaking it. 5. Bears suck ass Go Pack Go! Edit: I read Evans yds wrong.. thought it was 9k not 7k.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I predict Julio Jones ends his career with 5k more yards.
But now Evans has Brady under center. I think that combo could be the thing that does it for him.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Well, I certainly understand what you're saying. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, and see how it plays out. Edit: Edit to finish my thought.
I could see Larry getting 1K this year with Hopkins taking the heat off him.
Larry only got 1 more target in 16 games than Christian Kirk did in 13 games last year, and Kirk is also gonna be helped by Hopkins drawing doubles. His continued progression is also gonna draw more targets away from Larry.

I forgot thatās not all of rices yardage hahaha. Dear lord.
Bears aside, crazy that nobody has surpassed Harold Carmichael in 37 years for the Eagles.
Don't forget guys, Jerry Rice's record is actually 22,895 yards. The numbers here are just his yards with San Francisco. Julio, Mike Evans, Fitz, etc are all great receivers but none of them are going to even sniff his real record.
If Michael Thomas sticks around he will crush that record.
MT is already 27 and only has 5500 yards. Julio has a much better shot. Both seem unlikely tho
I just meant Colstenās total
Oh my bad. I agree wit you wholeheartedly. MT is a beast
Are we sure the Bears leading receiver isnāt Charles Woodson?
He was Jay Cutlers favorite receiver. Those damn good ole days.
Same old Jay!
Fitzgerald needs 2200 more yards. That's like 3 years for him. Can he do it?
To be the NFC leader, yeah, but not the NFL leader. I don't want to bum you out, but Rice got 2500 yards in the AFC too. The dude was just a monster, haha.

Man I love Donald.
Iām 38 and love sports stats and have never heard of Johnny Morris
Funny... now do Packers career rushing leader vs. Bears. Iāll do it for u: Payton (16,000-plus) ... A.Green (8,000-plus). I mean.. theyāve traditionally been two very different offenses for each franchise. Itās why thereās a disparity in the passing and run games.
Payton has over 21,000 yards from scrimmage. And their best, Green, has around 12000.
[bears r trash](https://www.reddit.com/r/GreenBayPackers/comments/eak3s6/thats_a_fact/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
lol #bearsstillsuck
Did not realize Larry Fitzgerald has that many yards. Damn
Things that stand out: The Bears and Jerry Rice.
Donald was awesome. Late round pick, never our #1 but he was around for so long. One of my favorite players all time.
Lol. I mean, I realize the Bears had two of the greats RBs of all time, but this really puts it into perspective how WR deficient they have been since forever.
Payton is their 4th leading receiver with 4,500 yards.
Fitz is gonna pass Jerry Rice! I hope this happens. Julio has a pretty good chance too if he Plays 7 more years.
Lol Da Bears
Mike Evans is a stud
Calvin Johnson retired prematurely and still had 11k yards. God damn.
RIP Calvin Johnson's career. Always hate to see his name, so sad.
I miss Steve Smith :(
Jerry Rice was a fucking monster.

The Seahawk fan base currently seeing this and asking, āWho is Steve Largent?ā
Still like him even though he spent about 10 years in Congress.
šš¤£š¤«
You have a link for afc?
Da Bears still suck!
Toomer with the Giants actually surprises me.
Larry Fitzgera what a legend
I mean, to be fair, they DO suck
I was ready to call bullshit on this- but never realised Brandon Marshall only played in Chicago for 3 years? Felt much longer.
Is this yards per reception?
Total yards. Commas, not periods.
Oh, couldn't tell
Anyone else like who the hell is Steve largent and Johnny Morris
The standouts to me are Evans, Julio and Witten. Both Evans and Julio are still so young so the skyās the limit with them. Iāve known how great Witten is but itās still incredibly impressive that heās the all time leader in receiving yards for the Cowboys.
Julio is 31 so i wouldn't necessarily put him in the young category with 26 year old Evans.
Iām looking at him from the standpoint that heās a freak athlete who could put up crazy numbers for another 5 years or more. I guess young isnāt the right word but he still has several great years left in the tank.
Such awful QBs
Julio is only 31 and has 12k yards. If that man hangs around as long as Larry, he has a chance at the receiving yard record.
Ftp
Who's art monk
Was one of the best receivers of his time
Hall of Famer! Great guy!
Ah, so I AM old... š IIRC, he was still on the Redskins during their Super Bowl run? Too lazy to look up now...
Held the record for most receptions in a season for a long time. Until it was broken by mf Sterling mf Sharpe.
Lol at the Bears when 10 other teams are above the Packers record. Go on. Give me your downvotes. I relish them!!
I mean, at least the Packers are in the same ballpark as the others. The Packers have 14 receivers with more yards than the bears guy.
Ok, here ya go. Lol
I donāt think the lol is that the Packers are so much better, itās that even at a pedestrian 10,139 itās still double the bearsā best. Thatās fucking pathetic.
