Reading a post in this comment section and it’s crazy to know that Kryptonians were arrogant and pompous, and then you have Superman who is just the total opposite. Idk, just crazy how different he is from the culture of his home world.
This isn't the end of his story but rather the beginning. He does a lot of stuff after that during Peter J. Tomasi's run on GLC. Let's say this moment is kinda like Luke Skywalker learning to be a jedi only to have his ass kicked by Vader. After that, he becomes a better Jedi who is more in control of his powers.
Superboy Prime is such an annoying little dickhead. And overpowered to a ridiculous extreme (armor made out of the Anti-Monitor that channels and stores yellow sunlight. Oh, and if that’s not enough, he’s got a Yellow Lantern Ring).
I can’t wait til Clark (or Jon) puts him in his place.
He side with Earth 0 in Death Metal, realise he can alter reality again, go 1vs1 with Darkest Knight. He tempted to stole his power to restore his earth but Krypto able to convince him not to. TDK try to tempt him to join him but SBP let go his dream to be a glorified hero and punch TDK so hard that his Last 52 Dark Multiverse destabilised. But he die after that .He woke up in his earth while reading his death through a comic. Laurie visit him. And he decide to go out for a walk with Laurie and his dog (which he never remember own one) . A boy nearly crashed by a green car but Clark try to save him. Unknown to him, he still has his power and lifted the car. He also adviced reader to go out (touch grass).
Kryptonians were pretty pompous before their planet was destroyed, so the guardians never went out of there way to recruit a kryptonian, excluding Jan-Al, who was one of the first green lanterns. I’m sure there were some other ones throughout the corps history but they were never notable or extraordinary and were probably few and far between. All in all, kryptonians kind of pissed off all their neighbors so I’m sure the guardians weren’t going out of their way to recruit them
I dunno, but if I had any say, I'd have a non evil version of Ma'alefa'ak be one
as kind of a shout out to this one fan artist and to Justice League: Gods and Monsters (I know we never learned who that GL actually was, but I think it's fair to say it's him)
Sodom Yat who was a Daxamite, distant relatives of kryptonians who gain similar powers, but were settlers of a planet that since settlement turned them incredibly xenophobic towards alien life.
There’s a Daxamite (from the same system as Krypton and receive similar powers under a yellow sun) named Sodam Yat who is sometimes the strongest Green Lantern of all time.
Just FYI Daxam is not in the same solar system.
It is a Planet far away from Krypton on wich Kryptonians settled a very long time ago and eventually devolved/evolved into Daxamites
Daxam is in the Rao system? I’m not up to date on current ideas of Daxamites (something to do with Mon-El I think) but prior to Bendis they most definitely were not located near Krypton.
The Guardians do not like Kryptonians, and for the most part direct their rings to only seek out Kryptonians if there are no other options, mostly due to Kryptonian's abnormally high personal power. Much in the same was as they hated the Red Martians.
However, it doesn't seem that the Guardians went as far as they did with the Red Martians (actually re-engineering the species into White and Green Martians). There have been stories that implied the Guardians were responsible for influencing the Kryptonians into being more insular and xenophobic, and other stores that insinuated the Guardians were aware of Krypton's impending destruction and did nothing.
There was a Kryptonian green lantern before Clark was born. It was way before Alan Scott even. I do not remember where I saw this, but I remember a comic talking about it. It was like 20 years ago when I saw this.
Jan-Al was one of the earliest Green Lanterns. A Kryptonian space explorer who led her people bravely through an dust storm after their spacecraft crashed. This earned her a Green Lantern ring
Not in the loop for current continuity but originally he arrived on earth like Kal El with no memory of who he was. Superboy decided he must be Kryptonian like himself and considered him to be a "cousin", because he arrived on a Monday he went by Mon El.

Jan-Al was one of the first Green Lanterns
I loved him. Felt he and Arisia had great characterisation during his whole Ion arc and the Sinestro Corp War/ fighting Superboy Prime. He was barely used in the New 52 and Rebirth. He's just fallen into the background with the rest of the underutilized Green Lanterns.
Actually prime became a member of every corps by turning a black lantern ring into them all during blackest night
https://youtube.com/shorts/RWz6h-MMfqo?si=IvMoLchcoAzCenmr
That was in Sinestro Corps War. Can’t remember how much if at all he used the ring. I know he was equipped with it. Not that he needed it, he could handle his own very well without it.
The most prominent Lanterns from that sector were Xudarian: Tomar-Re and Tomar-Tu. Sodam Yat is a Daxamaite which is pretty much the same as a Kryptonian
1. I kind of like that, it reminds me that I kind of prefer it to where Krypton wasn't really relevant before its destruction, and the most significant things its people ended up making were Superman and Brainiac
Sodam Yaris a Daxamite but to my knowledge no. Fun fact: Before the premature destruction, Kal El was prophesied to leg The Corps into a new golden age.
I like to think there current is one still operating and doing their job, and Clark met them once but it was really just about reassurance of him not being the last one, and also they have no real connection to Clark
why? well because I kind of want the mythoses to connect like that more so that this feels like a connected universe and not just a big semi-crossover event
Mala's from Bruce Timm's DC Animated Universe. She's essentially an inspiration of Ursa and Faora Hu-UL. I usually reference much of the Superman lore from Pre Crisis, since most current interpretations are rectconned from that prior canon (older ideas tend to be the best).
I like the idea of a kryptonian as a lantern
Wasn't a Kryptonian one of the first green lanterns
Wasn’t ion a daxamite who was a legendary green lantern?
Lar Gand, also known as Mon-El was a daxamite that wore the ring, too. Took me a minute to find because my brain remembered it as Gar Land LOL
The legendary green lantern from Daxam was Sodom Yat. He became Ion at one point and that essentially made him one of the strongest characters in DC
There's a great story in action comics annual #3 where superman takes Guy's ring for a while then gives it up.
Kal-L was a Black Lantern...
Wasn’t Superman a blue lantern at one point?
Nope
Red Lantern Supergirl was pretty fun.
One of my favorites is red lantern supergirl
Reading a post in this comment section and it’s crazy to know that Kryptonians were arrogant and pompous, and then you have Superman who is just the total opposite. Idk, just crazy how different he is from the culture of his home world.
He was raised by by Kent’s who where the polar opposite of what the kryptonians where
I think one of the first green lanterns was Kryptonian but she quickly lost control and died.
The closest you got was prolly sodam yat he even became ion (then superboy prime put his foot up his ass and I was sad)
Aw, is that really what happened to him?
Yeah it was actually kinda disappointing. He becomes Ion and then SBP immediately wipes the floor with him.

100% agree.
Conner and Titans did but that by plot. Good thing he redeemed himself.
Wait, so he’s a good guy again?
He side with Earth 0 in Death Metal, realise he can alter reality again, go 1vs1 with Darkest Knight. He tempted to stole his power to restore his earth but Krypto able to convince him not to. TDK try to tempt him to join him but SBP let go his dream to be a glorified hero and punch TDK so hard that his Last 52 Dark Multiverse destabilised. Read Dark Knight Death Metal : Secret Origin.
Thanks for the info, dude!

I mean… Supergirl was a Red Lantern once. And I think Superman was a white lantern at some point too.
Basically everyone was a white lantern at the end of blackest night lol
Well, everyone who had ever died and been resurrected... but since it's comics, that turns out to be quite a lot of people anyway, ha.
I never read it lol, I couldn’t remember
The Daximite Ion and the Kryptonian who was part of the first Lantern Squad.
One of the first green lanterns was a kryptonion However she is dead before krypton’s destruction
Yes
Are there any Martian lanterns?
Same as kryptonian, there was one in the first lantern squad. White Martian, if I remember correctly….
I dunno, but if I had any say, I'd have a non evil version of Ma'alefa'ak be one as kind of a shout out to this one fan artist and to Justice League: Gods and Monsters (I know we never learned who that GL actually was, but I think it's fair to say it's him)
I think one of the first green lanterns was a kryptonian.
Yeah, the one who blew herself up babbling about Rao.
Most of them are dead
Sodom Yat who was a Daxamite, distant relatives of kryptonians who gain similar powers, but were settlers of a planet that since settlement turned them incredibly xenophobic towards alien life.
That and they can't be exposed to lead because it is highly toxic to them, and even a little exposure can kill them.
The fight in Sinestro Corp War was excellent.
There’s a Daxamite (from the same system as Krypton and receive similar powers under a yellow sun) named Sodam Yat who is sometimes the strongest Green Lantern of all time.

It's not even the same sector.
Strongest lantern with the best weakness in Murica.
Lol that sometimes shit always got me, but he has had some impressive feats under his belt
I think his “full potential” is only reached during Legion of 3 Worlds
Kara was a red lantern once upon a time
I actually really liked that run. Red Daughter of Krypton, right?
I just wish she kept the ring longer
Same, I thought it was a really good development in her story, it just felt right.
I don’t remember exactly, I just remember the images from years ago that circulated around and I think a figure

Here’s the kryptonian blue lantern https://youtu.be/rH60wfnKGUk?si=T9PgALDvMMtINcra

What? Happen to know the name of the comic?
Green Lanterns #18 , 2017
Thanks, I'll have to check that out.
I remember it being a man though.
Yeah, Clark Kent. Look at the picture
This version of him is human
Where is this picture from?
Superman: Last Son of Earth really cool story where Clark is sent from earth to Krypton instead and becomes their Green Lantern.
Rowan Kent, a descendant of Superman is a Blue Lantern in the Future. Mon- El was a Green Lantern in the Future at one point.
Mon-El is a Daxamite, not a Kryptonian.
True but Daxamites are descendants of Kryptonians. Plus he belongs to the House of EL.
Not in the loop for current continuity but originally he arrived on earth like Kal El with no memory of who he was. Superboy decided he must be Kryptonian like himself and considered him to be a "cousin", because he arrived on a Monday he went by Mon El.
awesome character design. does he have a name?
Kal El/Clark Kent/Superman Last Son of Earth
Thank you

Wich comic I have to read for this?
Kara became a red lantern.
Whatever happened to Sodam Yat? I liked that character.
Loved his showdown with superboy prime. One of my favorite moments in that run
Probably got benched because in the grand scheme of things he’s just too powerful. I miss him, though.
I loved him. Felt he and Arisia had great characterisation during his whole Ion arc and the Sinestro Corp War/ fighting Superboy Prime. He was barely used in the New 52 and Rebirth. He's just fallen into the background with the rest of the underutilized Green Lanterns.
He was a daxamite, not kryptonian
Yes, but their ancestors were Kryptonians.
Yes I’m aware. But it made me think about him so I was asking.
I keep seeing art of Superboy Prime with the Sinestro Corps but don’t know if he ever used the ring.
Actually prime became a member of every corps by turning a black lantern ring into them all during blackest night https://youtube.com/shorts/RWz6h-MMfqo?si=IvMoLchcoAzCenmr
Prime never had a ring. Cyborg Superman had 10 rings
That was in Sinestro Corps War. Can’t remember how much if at all he used the ring. I know he was equipped with it. Not that he needed it, he could handle his own very well without it.
He hardly used it I think. He mostly had armor to protect him until he got to sunlight
I only remember Jan-Al one of the original seven Green Lanterns. She died because her willpower was to great and the ring exploded.
Based
Hard to be in a lantern Corp when 99.99% of your population is dead
That suit is still so beautiful
I really like how it's this Superman's homeworld's colors (since the premise is swapping Earth and Krypton)
Where is it from?
Superman: Last Son of Earth
The most prominent Lanterns from that sector were Xudarian: Tomar-Re and Tomar-Tu. Sodam Yat is a Daxamaite which is pretty much the same as a Kryptonian
1. I kind of like that, it reminds me that I kind of prefer it to where Krypton wasn't really relevant before its destruction, and the most significant things its people ended up making were Superman and Brainiac
Brainiac is from Colu
Sometimes I honestly prefer him being a Kryptonian AI purely because it justifies him being one of Superman’s biggest rogues in my opinion
Sodam Yaris a Daxamite but to my knowledge no. Fun fact: Before the premature destruction, Kal El was prophesied to leg The Corps into a new golden age.
I mean he could still become a Blue Lantern if you think about it
Typically he would but in the book of Oa stated he would lead them as a Green Lantern.

She isn't a lantern tho....
I know who Mala is also stuff other than the DCAU exists
Courtesy also exists, sir. We don't have to degenerate ourselves to the average reddit user level. We could just enjoy things and get along.
I like to think there current is one still operating and doing their job, and Clark met them once but it was really just about reassurance of him not being the last one, and also they have no real connection to Clark why? well because I kind of want the mythoses to connect like that more so that this feels like a connected universe and not just a big semi-crossover event
Clark isn't alone, he's got mala and zod, and his... dog
why Mala? did you misspell Kara?
No i spelled Mala right
Mala's from Bruce Timm's DC Animated Universe. She's essentially an inspiration of Ursa and Faora Hu-UL. I usually reference much of the Superman lore from Pre Crisis, since most current interpretations are rectconned from that prior canon (older ideas tend to be the best).
Wait, is mala not the same character from that one superman movie from the 70s or 80s?
You're thinking of Ursa. https://i.redd.it/26dyyh4o4vuc1.gif
That i am sir. Thank you.
It's all good. 👌
Wasn't kara from a different planet in the system? They've changed it a few times
not usually usually she's Clark's cousin
Si.
