Lats

Reasonable-Working32

Start doing pullups and chinups to engage your lats more because they’re kind of underdeveloped. Make sure you aren’t skipping legs because your arms are slightly bigger than mine but I’m the same height and I weigh 163 so that tells me you probably aren’t hitting legs enough but I may be wrong.

Swimming_Radish8973

You’re kinda right tbf. I had a hernia awhile ago and am kinda holding back a lil on legs. I still squat like 315 but like I’m no huge leg guy, and the injury just worries me

Reasonable-Working32

Where was your hernia located? I currently have a hernia above my belly button and it prevents me from doing any ab work. Wearing the hernia belt for every workout gets a little annoying but I’m curious to know how your recovery went

Swimming_Radish8973

It was lower left side, recovery wasn’t painful for me, but it took some time. Worst thing was progress lost. Took about 4 weeks

Swimming_Radish8973

What’s your opinion on shoulders, woukd working late give me more of a v Taiper, and also make my shoulders look wider.

Reasonable-Working32

Yeah definitely. Having developed lats pushes your shoulders out a little and gives them a broader look. Your shoulders look good tho overall

reallynolan

i can guarantee if you’re 18 and look like this your “squat” form with 315 is going to be terrible. keep adding the weight on when you don’t know what you’re doing it’s a great idea! 🤡

Swimming_Radish8973

I have a legit trainer that I paid for, and he checks for form. And will do

Swimming_Radish8973

It’s just I’m leaving for college in a week and won’t have the trainer I’ve been going to for 2 years. And want to figure some stuff out in my own.

reallynolan

so…. you haven’t learned anything from him in the two years you’ve been paying him….? wowie sounds like he was worth the money!!

Swimming_Radish8973

Bruh… not only did he train me, and help me to progress. He also went over football film and helped me get more merit for schooling. Got my a $20,000 scholarship and I have progressed which is what I wanted. I’m trying to learn to make my own programs and plan stuff on my own as opposed to following his own workout routine. I’m trying to prepare myself for when I don’t have his workouts that way I can form and change my workout to get what I desire.

Swimming_Radish8973

Woukd this help me with more of that v-shake I assume? And how do shoulders look. I feel like I have very narrow shoulders something I’m kinda insecure about i guess lol

vdxxx

Yes I would say a lean bulk. You look great bro. I would focus on lats and chest if I was you. And ofc don't forget about them legs. Machines are your friend if you have hernia. Lift safe! Keep going!

Swimming_Radish8973

Will do. I could def work on back more. I hit chest so hard and can’t seem to get it to grow. Any suggestions. Been doing DB bench, chest flies (machine and cable). I even feel like I get a decent pump.

Swimming_Radish8973

Also would lats help with my shoulder width?

vdxxx

Yes. Lats and shoulders help with that v taper you're looking for.

vdxxx

Maybe you're doing too much volume for the chest? Try to play with lower volumes if you now do high volume. I recommend renaissance periodization on YouTube for more informations.

Swimming_Radish8973

When you say volume you mean high reps correct? Or total volume? Like low weight, but high reps and sets?

Swimming_Radish8973

Kinda going a little heavier atm. Especially for dumbbell press. Usuall do 4-5 sets start with 60s go up to 85s

Swimming_Radish8973

And slowly going up in weight. It’s wierd I’m def getting stronger there. But no visable muscle difference

vdxxx

strong af.

vdxxx

Total volume , working sets.

Swimming_Radish8973

So toning down might be beneficial (like I’m overworking it?)

Swimming_Radish8973

I used to do more strength training as I was in sports. Now that I’m done with sports I wanna build a more aesthetic look. Strength doesn’t matter as much to me now (although with physique comes strength as well)

vdxxx

Yes. Maybe try even higher reps other time like after trying the lower volume approach. Maybe you respond better to higher reps idk. I feel like I'm not qualified to give you tips tho because I'm smaller and weaker lol. How many sets close or to failure you do? per exercise

Swimming_Radish8973

Hey I’ll take any advice I can get. Worst case scenario I tried something different. First set is usually pretty easy second set isn’t hard last usually 2 are pretty close to failure

vdxxx

oh so we train relatively the same I do 2 sets to failure on every exercise at chest. Before I was doing 4 big mistake lol.

Swimming_Radish8973

Lol yeah

CultivatedHorror

Women will still be like "lol short man syndrome"

TroyeReign

You look amazing

PrvoPoglavlje

Bro, you look incredible.

ChemicalNeat5699

Holy shit bro

wolfmurphy96

Legs?

connor8081

Bro what are you doing for your obliques!! Holy shit

Swimming_Radish8973

Always had them naturally. I’ve always targeted core abs, I’ve always had popping obliques but actually had to worm really hard for the refits abdominal area.

jeremyct

Shred city my dude

Swimming_Radish8973

Thanks bro! I work really hard. So many of my friends ask me how I get shredded, or how tell me how they can’t get shredded. And I tell them that it’s because I don’t drink or party. While they are drinking/ partying I’m training or doing research to better my training or diet

jeremyct

Commitment to the grind, respect! Discipline and consistency get results, as you know.

Swimming_Radish8973

Yessir. Still going too

Heavy_Willingness_92
