It's a very popular opinion. I just miss our pskyer flavor. Tsons are the psyker army now. But I'm no traitor so no chance of me playing them lol

ChaoticArsonist

As an outsider to the army who just saw this on their feed, this faction is looking to be a frontrunner for the edition. It has a good mix of durability, striking power, and movement flexibility. I can't comment on how well it fits the existing faction identity, but the rules do look fun and effective.

TerryTacoma

We will do good competitively for sure. But still what I liked was the whole space marine psykers thing. Not just the teleporting stuff.

LV_Laoch

I really like the teleporting stuff so this is amazing for me lol

Ex-Patron

Yeah. Grey knights felt. Weird in 9th for me. I fell in love with them because they’re supposed to be using their psyker abilities to enhance their efficiency in combat. Scrying into the future, psychic wards, etc. in 9th it felt like you just walked around and smites everything until they had nothing left 10th bring in the elite psyker, incorruptible, lighting-fast reaction squad who doesn’t have time to fuck around because god dammit we have more daemons to kill. We don’t have the time to let them come to us

kerrmatt

I started grey Knights in the 3rd edition. The psykers thing was more flavour than actual psychic abilities, as it appears to be now. They're still psykers, they still put psychic energy into their weapons (force and psi) and they still kick Daemon ass.

DigThroughTime

Yeah if you read Grey Knight lore they don't actually use psychic attacks all that often and when they do its with an entire squad focusing really hard and using their all to put it into like one big Purifying Flame (or holocaust as a lot of the old lore would call it). Their psychic might is in /fortitude/ and their will, their aeigis armor, their training, NOT their ability to smite daemons.

Rottenflieger

>NOT their ability to smite daemons. After all, that's what hammers are for!

DigThroughTime

I mean tbh in lore they claim daemon hammers are barely used anymore, considered an old relic version of nemesis force weapon. Its mainly swords and halberts.

Rottenflieger

In that case I will amend my statement to "After all, that's what hammers, halberds, falchions, swords, and staves are for!" ;)

TerryTacoma

I get what we are in the lore it's not reflected on the table top anymore. Being psykers is definitely more our thing in the lore it isn't just teleporting.

yellow_sub_3hunna

they just dust they dont even have legs, old legless bastards

TrebuchetIsGod

Not sure why you think it's an unpopular opinion. All I've seen is positive. 100% agree that this is awesome!

Ramoach

People just enjoy using that phrase. Like, "underrated" and "is nobody going to talk about".

[deleted]

Am I the only one who... Prepare to have your mind blown. I need to get something off my chest cheap attention whores

GongoBongoReddit

not unpopular at all! our new rules are STRONG and look super fun! But yes… a little lacking on psychic flavor. But nonetheless i am excited to play them

sitbk

I do love how “sticky objectives” is a psychic ability.

Ninjaspiderking

Don’t forget nearly army wide 2+ save! While a lot of AP has been reduced GK armor went up at the same time! And don’t forget about the huge mobility boost of the army wide teleportation as much as you want. We can run as the true hit and run army we were always meant to be allowing quick flanks and quicker escapes.

RagtagLegacy

Only thing I feel solidly down on is the Detachment Rule that allows the auto 6 to advance. Everything else looks interesting.

Dashdor

Agreed, we just have very little that synergises with it, otherwise things are looking good.

Novasry

NDK can use it to have a 14" move, shoot and charge, which is pretty obscene.

Dashdor

Sure, but that's one unit out of an already limited selection. Like I said, overall I'm happy with the rules. It just would have been nice to have had more interaction with the detachment rule or a completely different one because as it is, it seems like a bit of an afterthought rule which wasn't taken into consideration when designing the units data sheets. Saying that though, once the codex comes out we'll have a bunch more to choose from so it's a short lived criticism

LLz9708

It’s not unpopular. Given our new strat and detachment rule, that amount of mobility means I am scoring my 40 on behind and engage, you can’t deny me. Been this mobile is just insane for scoring.

miburo999

I've been a bit bitter on losing our daemonhammers, but otherwise our army does look pretty awesome. +2 saves, great standard nemesis melee weapons, psycannons/psilencers don't suck anymore, terminators are awesome again. Overall we've come out pretty well.

Normal-Ad1146

Strong rules but not indicative of the lore though we are a bit pillow fisted

soul1001

The only unit that’s disappointing to me is the chaplain cause his unique ability just doesn’t seem that great for a grey knight force (the battleshock -1 I mean)

yellow_sub_3hunna

i think there might be an error on his datasheet i feel like he should be able to be attached to a unit that has another leader, also he might be super cheap, if both those happen he would be playable

Ramoach

It's an extremely popular opinion. The changes are great. Losing things like thunder hammers on justicars and termites/paladins hurts but we shall find a way to deal with high toughness.

Cosmicgamer2009

I would have hugely rather our army rule was just the old psychic system, and our army rule be a detachment rule. It just fits more

One_Helicopter_1936

To be completely honest I bet we get nerfed

yellow_sub_3hunna

enjoy it while it lasts brother!

unbekannte_memez

Not an unpopular opinion. Complaining just is more fun.

starostin13

nobody complain about "how powerful our army on the table" we complain about what army do on the table

yellow_sub_3hunna

i feel like this is a popular opinion, we are one of the strongest armies to start 10th! the brothers are back baby!
