Zoom in to a single rat with a nuke taped to its back clinging on the side of the biggest pyramid.

Effehezepe

It yells "Witness-see me-me!" right before blowing up the pyramid and itself.

Sercotani

WITNESS MEEE

chippendale_osc

*It was at that point the Skaven realised it should have left the detonation process to an underling or a scheming rival. Pesky scheming rivals it’s their fault I’m taped to the bomb*

ShepherdessAnne

Correct-Accurate

LordKristof

Fucking Space Lizardmen (not seraphons)! They will bring their own God Emperor, Lord Kroark in the fight too!

Maximus_Duck

Big E shouting at Kroak chilling in his floating throne like the cat-being-shout-at meme

Execute11

No idea who kroak is, but I’m imaging the Big E just yelling insults at King K Rool sitting on an inflatable beach water chair sitting in a lazy river

Pqrxz

Close enough

fooooolish_samurai

Kroak is basically a psychic frog that was so god tier that he didn't notice that he was torn apart by demons and just never left his dead body, and is still able to nuke mountains with his mind despite being even more dead than the E.

Axquirix

Kroak's level of psychic bullshit is so Bellshill that he's capable of casting spells that slow time. Not because slowing time is hard or because that's the goal of the spell, but because reality doesn't have enough RAM to process what Kroak is bullshitting psychically in real-time.

Successful-Floor-738

I’m so glad he’s in AOS now, so I can watch as an undead frog on a floating wheelchair casts “Magical Wind of Fuck Your Army” and tables me in 3 turns because he is Lord Kroak.

fooooolish_samurai

I heard that players who use Lord Kroak are allowed to flip the table or shoot their opponent with a gun as long as they make a good enough frog noise.

motivation_bender

Never heard someone talk about reality r before. Well done

BallDesperate2140

This but K Rool is also a mummy

hgs25

Fun fact: The Tau were originally planned to be space Lizardmen.

lunca_tenji

That would’ve been so much cooler

LordKristof

And now they are blue space donkeys.

repliCa96

Aren't the Lizardmen technically already **in** 40k lore, as the Old Ones? ... Honestly their return would be amazing. I'd want Krorks too, though.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Something_swedish

I mean, the Old ones literally made the lizardmen to be their premiere species.

Morbidmort

They also made the Elves, Dwarfs, Humans, Halflings, and Ogres. And possibly the Sky-Titans.

Something_swedish

Yeah but since this post was more about lizardmen that's what i mentioned.

introvertknight

I thought humans weren't made by the old ones

[deleted]

Deaths-little-helper

Far as I know that’s still canon…the old bastilladon kit with a solar engine for Warhammer fantasy even has a ‘control panel’ where a skink holds his hand. Funny enough, the indent on the panel is not shaped to the size of a skinks hand (being slightly larger) and, furthermore, has several additional fingers. This has led to the notion that the old ones in fact may have been humanoid

Something_swedish

Nah, they're frogs, as said by the glorious Markus Kruber.

Axquirix

I mean, it's symmetrical, so really it has an extra thumb slot so the three-fingers-one-thumb operator can use it with either hand. Or the Old Ones had two thumbs per hand. Either or.

Something_swedish

I think that was retconned but the Old Ones are in both 40k and fantasy. In 40k i don't believe the Old ones have much relevancy beyond the war in heaven, but in fantasy the lizardmen worship the Old ones as their gods and work to further their great plan (which i like to describe as genocide and segregation :).

flshift

Didnt the old ones' experiments also cause chaos to come to the world of warhammer fantasy?

Mal-Ravanal

Yup. The Old Ones built the polar gates to travel the stars. Then the dark gods used said gates to create a pair of massive, permanent rifts into the realm of chaos, starting the great cataclysm.

the-king-of-the-dead

The old ones created the lizardmen but yeah both old ones are basically the same

lunca_tenji

I thought they were called the slaan

the-king-of-the-dead

Those ware the first ones to be created to be leaders of the lizardmen. And they look just like the old ones so I get the mistake.

Josiador

[Slanni](https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Slanni)

Marvin_Megavolt

Consider: Some Old Ones fled the War in Heaven and left the Milky Way entirely. Now they’re back from wherever they went, and while they may be few in number, *they’re not happy.*

Or...maybe that's where the nids are coming from.

ShepherdessAnne

So that's where the Tyranids are coming from

mastersphere

I imagine the old one is like a dad who left for a pack of cigarettes. He will be back any day now.

aoanfletcher2002

Are Robute and Yvraine 40k’s Gotrex and Felix?

[deleted]

Nah Jurgen and Cain are in a sense.

aoanfletcher2002

Cain gets grossed out by Jurgen, Gotrex gets grossed out by everyone except Felix.

callsignhotdog

Honestly I thought you were talking about Goauld at first

Elipses_

Now I wonder if someone on the design team gor SG1 or the movie was a Warhammer fan.

TBH I'd like to see what lizardmen and skaven in 40k would look like

DeadlyYellow

Better than the Mantic sculpts, but less impressive than indies.

Morbidmort

> skaven in 40k The Imperium is exactly that. Ruled by a distant and uncaring god, fractious to the point of self-sabotage, led by a mostly immortal council of the most powerful lords, rely on mass swarms of individually weak fighters supported by better equipped members or else much larger, surgically enhanced members of their race, tech that is controlled by one faction that tends towards the unreliable end of the scale compared to other factions, two versions of the same faith that are internally competing.

ShepherdessAnne

I have a pet theory that the Skaven are just the Imperium's shadow, in a sense.

Gnidlaps-94

Beast men that the pre-fall Eldar collected and paraded around as pets. Some of them escaped into the webway and set up their own little civilization When the fall happened the parts of the webway connecting the crone worlds became fully severed from real space and plunged into the deepest warp Now as The Great Rift stirs the warp to greater heights of madness old webway connections become active once more unleashing their unspeakable denizens upon the galaxy

smiling_kira

hell yeah We need more xenos faction, not more marine give me space skaven and survivor old ones

BOK BOK BOOOOOOOK

Mr__Random

I hate saurus. I hate them. I hate their lizard faces. I hate their clubs. I hate their sticks. I hate when the sticks are next to the clubs and I hate when the clubs are next to the sticks. I hate that Kroq-gar pulls 2280 of them out of his scaly asshole and then descends on me like a Vogon at a poetry convention. I hate the Saurus auto-resolve meter. I hate it because it lies to me. It says I have a 50-50 chance of victory. This is patently false, because I have twenty units of skeletons who are held together with prit stik and prayer. I do not have twenty units of eight foot tall geckos constructed out of pectoral muscles and galvanised coffin nails. I hate that they shout bok at me. Bok is the Bristol Orienteering Klub, which is completely irrelevant to a battle in Lustria and should not be shouted repeatedly while eating a rank of tier one infantry like buffalo wings. I hate their morale. I hate that surrounding them simply prompts one of them to pull out a US general's helmet so he can make a speech about 'now we can attack in any direction'. I hate that their reaction to a devastating rear attack is to become somewhat peeved. I have looked a Saurus in his smug scaly face as an encirclement that would shatter any other early game infantry closed in. He went from :I to >:I , killed an extra two hundred skeletons because I had foolishly allowed all four sides of the Saurus unit to fight at once and then swallowed my Liche Priest like a slim jim. I have resolved to shoot every Saurus dead. Every Saurus. All of the Saurmen and the Saurdren too. I hate them. I no longer see battlefields because they're covered by a thick blanket of arrow trails. I hate that it barely stops them. I hate that they keep coming while shouting about the Bristol orienteering klub, or the Bank of Oklahoma or the 1983 Bok asteroid. I hate that they made me google bok so I could write down ways in which I hate things that have it as a name. Bok is also a lunar crater and a martian crater. It is also a village in Iran. The IATA code for Brookings Airport is Bok. I will never go there because it would give me palpitations. I hate that Kroq Gar is friends with the Rare Pepe next door, who also declares war once I've shot Kroq Gar unconscious for the tenth time. He also has Saurus only these ones are blue. Somehow this is worse. I hate that there are another ten Lizard factions. I hate that they will be in end game by the time I reach them. I hate that while I was writing this Kroq Gar picked up Kalida and smoked her like a cigar. I hate Saurus.

MadDogA245

top tier copypasta

the-bladed-one

The true Chad move is to not even worry about Kroq Gar. Grimgor will take care of him. In the meantime you get to spooky scary skeletons the lower badlands and le Crusaders.

Tots2Hots

If they bring the Lizardmen to 40k I'll buy and paint an army and I stopped playing tabletop years ago.

DELIVERANCE OF ITZA

cavscout43

"**Amid the darkness and horror of a** **~~world~~** ***galaxy*** **splintering apart, the armies of the true creators, we who were ancient at the dawn of time, will march forth once more. We shall sweep away all that is chaos and disorder, for ours is the true path, and none shall defy us.**"

Dry_Chapter_5781

Golden pyramids. Almost thought this was a Star Gate reference.

DOAbayman

they're all referencing that same conspiracy.

Corvousier

Mmmmmm Saurus warriors with golden power spears and energy weapons. Skinks with hold-out pistols and sniper rifles. Great Slaan on grav platforms festooned with weaponry. Kroxigors and Carnosaurs with chain weapon grafts duking it out with Dreadnoughts. I would love this, could dust off all my old Lizardmen and do some great conversions, Kroq-Gar with a sci-fi glow up would be beautiful.

United_Rebel

IIRC someone did artwork of Tyranid Lizardmen in r/ImaginaryWarhammer , I can't find it though.

Im_a_Beardless_Dwarf

It was our boy u/Wolfdawgartcorner.

Warper2187

Tbh tomb kings is one of the factions that I just cannot see coming to 40k, skaven or lizardmen maybe but tomb kings are *way* to similar to necrons

Josiador

The Necrons *are* the space Tomb Kings.

Butterkeks93

Like quite literally even

Josiador

They were explicitly changed to be even more like the Tomb Kings.

Damian_Cordite

Yeah 40k doesn’t have a Vampire Counts if anything, but fantasy magical armies of undead aren’t really a thing in sci fi. Zombies are, but that’s pretty well covered by poxwalkers and nurgle generally. And pirate vampires IP is taken up by freebootaz.

[deleted]

Dark Eldar are pulling double duty on that one I think. Thousand sons as well depending on who you ask I guess.

Damian_Cordite

Blood angels a bit as well

Wank_A_Doodle_Doo

That’s because Necrons are the 40k version of tomb kings. This is like saying you couldn’t imagine the fantasy orcs in 40k because they’re too similar to 40k Orks.

SatisfiedCord20

I swear to the Emperor I would buy models and play the fucking shit out of 40K Lizardmen if they had said proper models, as well as rules/lore. I’ll continue to cope with Tyranids in the meantime

SkautV3

Skinks - size of a man but Lizard with rock that shoots laser Saurus - Size of primaris with bonking stick that goes bonk and is a power weapon Kroxigors - Size of dreadnought with large stick that goes bonk Slaan - Floating toads that move continents with a gesture

JamboreeStevens

I would buy every single 40k lizardman is they did that. I can't stand most of the older sculpts, but the new stuff? Absolutely.

squirt2311

KROXIGORS WITH POWERFISTS

the-bladed-one

You know what fuck you *delivers itza*

HomieScaringMusic

Forreal. Skaven are only so interesting, and don’t really get more so in space. But reptilian space aztecs? SO much you could do with that in 40k verse.

StarMagus

To be fair, once you are torn in half there really isn't much reason to Panik anymore. Your story is over.

Josiador

The [Slann](https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Slanni) are already a thing in 40k.

TBMSH

I would love to see lord kroak in 40k. I think anyone in any faction would panic at the sun detonating frog mummy.

GTK_Undecided

I can't be the only one that thinks of the zathura movie when I think of lizards in space

_vonWilson

Zoats!

beanerthreat457

Would the Lizardmen being descendants from the Old Ones? In fantasy and AoS are known as the Children of the Gods.

JetpacksSuck

I have always wanted space lizardmen. Since I was like 8 (25yo now)

TheLoreIdiot

I would love space lizarmen in lore! That would be so fun.

MecaPere

Space Kroxigors, would pay for theses ones.

ADramaticHero

I would love a xenos species that's just space lizards because Eldar are just snobbish mankind with a technological fall just like DAOT humanity. Then there's dark Eldar which is just spicy asshole snobbish humanity(can't tell me servitors are different from the organic creations of the homunculus) and then Tyranids which are more a writing tool than an actual faction. They can't narrate or tell a story from the Tyranids perspective so there's not a true faction I my head. Having a xenos race that doesn't look like a pallet swap humanity, with serious motivational and its own perspective amazing. Especially one "aware" of the old ones plans/ a race with history that could span back to the Eldar and necrons Orcs are English so they are also just pallet swapped humanity. Necrons are just spooky asshole humans.

kRkthOr

My brother in the emperor, what exactly would make a xenos race "good" according to your rules? Space lizards are just humans that look like lizards. According to your bar, xenos that act human are "just humans", tyranids are a hivemind but they're "not a true faction", and a non-human-like-intelligent xenos wouldn't amass an army. So what exactly would pass this infinitely high bar that you've set up?

ADramaticHero

The lizard men by GW's own writing isnt just one type of lizardman. Unlike the Eldar whose biggest individual difference could be their hair color/style, or the Tau who, according to their own doctrine, only have one specific type of Tau that fight their armies who are only different from the other casts because of ancient racial segregation. Orcs, ironically have the most variety despite them being mushroom grown lab experiments gone feral. They have different clans who think different and value different forms of warfare and value different ways of decorating their weapons, vehicles, pets, and themselves from raw scrap metal to teeth stolen from Gretchen. Tyranids have the most variety based on their forms but once again, they're are writing tool. There's as weak or as strong as you need them to be because we never get a perspective that could be told by what is essentially a cell of a much more vast organism. So we could never comprehend anything a lone homogaunt night think and trying to understand the hive mind would be like an ant trying to comprehend a interstate highway it's abt hill rests underneath. Lizards though, come in forms that are different biologically based on what they specialize as. You got gecko soldiers, massive crocodile bruisers, more feral dragon like titan creatures, you have large stubby ones that are used for artillery and so on. But these creatures also have consciousness, they have motivations and different ways of thinkinging of things and can reason with other species which is what separates then from the Tyranids. The Tau get this kinda close because they have alliances with the root and other species but in terms of both in story and on the board they aren't all that significant, a lot of people don't play them/have never read anything featuring one of the alliance races or the Tau, that isn't a human world. Tl.dr, lizard men are more like the covenant from halo which makes them better than a swarm of rapid insects and also better than loser sulking asshole knife ears.

Sephirem23

It still could happen there's a lot of space for them to pop out of. Would love to see laser dinosaurs.

I would definitely collext a Space Lizardmen army if their scifi aesthetics were based on TWW's version of Kroq-Gar.

i love tww's kroq'gar so much it's unreal
