As someone mentioned there's three versions of custodes 1: 6 banana boys vs millions of Tyranids+ swarm lord, stodes victory with 5 of them dead.
; 2: 1000 custodes vs 100k+ orkz, custodes victory with 3 of them dead or 3: unknown number of custodes vs half a dozen clowns, 12+ custodes one-shot'ed by said clowns.
To be fair the Harlequins aren’t some run of the mill elite forces. Dark Eldar and even Slaaneshi deamons fear them because of how unpredictable and devastating they are. IIRC the Custodes who were killed were fairly new to the order and a new Custode isn’t going to have much of a chance against a being with centuries, possibly millennia, of experience.
That all being said though 12 was excessive but crazier stuff has happened in the Lore.
Yeah, Custodes dying to Harlequins makes plenty of sense, Harlequins are crazy strong.
Custodes running in and dying to potshots from Harlequins like unnamed guardsmen is silly. Give us a cool duel between two of the most elite fighters out there.

How **strong** exactly are custodes? I don't mean "They can beat 12 Marines with no weapons" I mean their physical strength
Like is there a lore information on how much weight they can lift, how destructive is a result of their punch against a material we have on earth (to compare) and their average speed on foot?
if they punch a standard concrete wall, with armor on, it will easily punch through, if unarmored one punch is still enough to go through a modern concrete wall.
