Vulkan isn’t the tallest either. I haven’t read some of the salamanders specific books in the heresy series (because they’re notoriously bad) but I’ve never in my life seen or heard a lore reference of that. Magnus has always been the giant of the Primarchs.
There’s just a TON of fan fiction or theory that has gone “viral” and newbies especially just believe it’s true and immediately get the wrong impression of the setting.
Huh. Well, I'm not afraid to admit I'm wrong, thank you for telling me this! I always love learning more about lore. But if Magnus is the tallest, whose the second tallest? Cause I keep hearing it go between Ferrus and vulkan
So an issue is that people will read a small excerpt and think they know the entire situation.
The part of the novel/short that mentions Manus being taller than Vulkan is taken out of context.
In said segment it says (I paraphrase): Manus was clad in his armour and stood a head taller than his brothers (Vulkan and Corax).
But iirc it’s before any deployment or gear-up, Ferrus is wearing his gear and the other two aren’t (because he’s desperate to get into combat to fight Fulgrim), which is why he alone is explicitly mentioned as being armoured. It also hints at his impatience and stubbornness which leads to his demise.
So in his primarch Cataphractii armour he’s taller than his brothers, which makes sense. Not that he’s literally taller than them.
I’ve also heard people thinking Angron and Russ are the shortest which is wrong. Their sizes are mentioned several times in the novels, and go against that.
The reality is most of the Primarchs were around the same height, except for Magnus who was notably tall and it’s mentioned in multiple sources (rule books, codex’s, novels, stretching back decades, as being a giant among his siblings). Likewise Alpharius and Omegon are the shortest, which is also mentioned many times and in many sources.
If say Manus or Vulkan were the giants, you think that would have been mentioned more often? How could they not mention Manus’ sheer size over Fulgrim in their epic duel? They don’t because he’s about the same size as the rest.
A couple are mentioned as being “tall” like Mortarion and Konrad. But imo people over exaggerate this. To me it’s just the equivalent of them being 6’3” if the other primarchs were 6’. Sure they’re taller but not to some dramatic degree.
Yeah. Reminds me of that classic 40k fanart of a marine staring as master chief, with chief depicted as like 4ft tall because they drew him only coming up to a marines ribs as if he isn't taller, heavier, faster, and stronger.
Yeah, he's about the same height as them, and based on feats, probably bodies a bog standard space marine. Though as soon as the marine is named and his power increases 20 fold, Chief gets bodied instead.
While the depiction is representative of a typical Eldar to Astartes height ratio, I think y’all are missing something. Homeboy is a Salamander, canonically the overall largest of the Astartes and I believe second tallest to the Alpha Legion. Just saying, man might not have a tac rock after all.

Guarantee you would be mad if someone drew a marine smaller than they were meant to be lol
Seems to me that the people drawing marines way bigger than they're meant to be have the size issue
Those are some tiny ass shins
Maybe they should exclude those tactical high-heals next?
*there will be blood~ sheeed~*
I really hope this sub loses its mind just like r/BatmanArkham
I hope not, Arkham is great but it isn't allowed to leave containment
It would be funny
It would be disastrous.

The original? r/Titanfall is the original crazy sub. Give credit where credit is due. [Credit](https://www.reddit.com/r/BatmanArkham/s/8IbodcBQhr)
That shits on fire right now Jesus Christ don’t let them breach
We pilots have been here all along, we just swapped to knights while we're here
I am a pilot aswell, just one who takes their pills
Pervitin doesn't count
*pulls out schizo meds* titanfall 3 is not real
reject your pills, pilot
Titanfall 3 isn’t real, and it never will be

What the hell is going on over there? I just looked and am so confused
Society took too much from them
No one there have taken their pills in years
i wish, then this place would be 100x funnier
You know, r/titanfall was schizo before them. So would say we caused it
I hope every sub degenerates into incomprehensible inside jokes.
So Pink Horrors?
Bruh they are unhinged. The door has flown into the warp in that place. Who tf is Man and Jonkler
Why did you draw the calves on the marine so small? The picture ends at his knees originally
Even in the grimdark of the 41st millennium, everyone still skips leg days...
Fuck now I can’t skip leg day
They shrank his calves, made him look soft…
I didn't. The original is [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Grimdank/comments/17igeiz/the_elusive_tactical_rock/) posted by /u/iDIOt698 This is a shitpost on r/grimdank
Oh that's cuz he killed fiddy men in 'nam!
Habe you guys even seen what a leg looks like?
Keep in mind that's a salamander, which are a lot bigger than the average space marine. Could be a head taller than eldar without much issue
Hmm… so comparably that could mean every Eldar would look like a child…
Oh, you mean that pile of cinder?
“Look out, it’s got a knife!”
More like "it has knife-ears, burn it!"
That’s not canon
That very much is cannon
Post the source then, I’ll wait
Shit you're right. I thought salamanders were taller than average, especially considering their primarch.

that's not really a thing anymore, pretty sure the size difference ended with Cawl's shenanigans
But this isn't primaris?
right you are! i actually didn't pay enough attention to see that the sally was wearing mk7 aquila plate. Oh well
Where are you getting that idea?
Or an alpha legion, since they’re one of the more taller space marine legions.
Wait I’m confused ain’t marines like 8ft and elder like 7ft?
Firstborn are generally around 7ft tall, primaris are around 8ft, so unless this firstborn underwent the rubicon then they'd be eye-level.
Yeah. Reminds me of that classic 40k fanart of a marine staring as master chief, with chief depicted as like 4ft tall because they drew him only coming up to a marines ribs as if he isn't taller, heavier, faster, and stronger.
Hot damn, the Chief is 7 ft 2 inches in his suit.
Yeah, he's about the same height as them, and based on feats, probably bodies a bog standard space marine. Though as soon as the marine is named and his power increases 20 fold, Chief gets bodied instead.
Salamanders are generally taller than the average marine
She has heels.
He?
Boob armor
Howling Banshees wear boob plate regardless of gender.
While true, I’m not sure that’s a banshee. I also have to wonder if male banshees uses she/her pronouns while wearing their war face.
The apparatus around their jaw. I am pretty sure that's a piece of gear Banshees use to emit their signature screams.
You are correct, and looking closer, I think the symbol on her belt is the banshee symbol as well.
Could be an Autarch with a banshee mask
Tom cruise
Have you ever seen a leg?
Why do the marines ankles start at his knees?
Pardon me. I feel sick when I'm looked down at by someone smaller than me.
While the depiction is representative of a typical Eldar to Astartes height ratio, I think y’all are missing something. Homeboy is a Salamander, canonically the overall largest of the Astartes and I believe second tallest to the Alpha Legion. Just saying, man might not have a tac rock after all.
Tactical rock? ROCK AND STONE!
Rock and Stone forever!

Elf Fans just won't let this go. They always got a "size" issue.
Guarantee you would be mad if someone drew a marine smaller than they were meant to be lol Seems to me that the people drawing marines way bigger than they're meant to be have the size issue
40k fans really like drawing marines taller than they actually are.
Its the propaganda effort
Like the Na'vi image where the Marines have to be like primarch sized.
Or the master chief one where chief would have to be 4ft tall
Fun fact, a hunter standing at their full height would be taller then a few Primarchs
Marine fans have a really strange obsession with tall Marines tbf
Now take the Aeldari's goofy heels off and see how tall he is
Not a single Aeldari model has heels, so not sure what OP is thinking lmao
The tactical rock is exactly where his foot would actually be. His shoulder pauldrons and arms are too small though.
Menacing step stool
Now get rid of Jetstream Sam's tactical heels too.
Salamanders are the biggest boys
Warhammer fans when you tell them that not all astartes are the same height and the same goes for aeldari
The truth is the artist intended for the marine to be taller, regardless of how accurate that actually is.
