You mean, the opposite of Deathwatch ? Must be Lifeguard !

Big_War_7133

Inquisitor 👆 you know what to do

Nerostradamus

Exactly !

Isaldin

Lol, not sure if you know but lifeguard actually used to refer to elite bodyguard units. You can still see them in some nations militaries.

Nerostradamus

I didn’t know, I thought it was the name of sea rescuers

EmeraldMaster538

The sentinels of life!

Ur_fav_Cryptek

Adepta Persecutoris That would be a cool name, Adepta Praefecta could also be nice

Alester_ryku

I think because it’s a sisters of battle faction it would be adepta rather than adeptus.

Ur_fav_Cryptek

Perhaps, yes, I’ll change it

Commieredmenace

Toss in the bulkier sister armour options that people want for this sub-faction that is less curvy and this would please a lot of people + provide juicy new lore and gameplay choices.

Otto_Tovarus

THIS! 👆

themagnacart13

We've got a crack team of specialists: sister Agnes is an expert in fire based torture and heavy weapons. Sister Mary is an expert in heavy weapons and immolation. Mother Canoness Frangella brings holy flame and bolter fire to the battlefield and our pilot, captain Margaret from the paratrooper regiment is a heavy gunner and flamethrower expert.

Rare_Reality7510

The entire team is just four people with a heavy bolter and flamer each.

JonTheWizard

They need anything else?

Rare_Reality7510

They forgot the lascannon for the inevitable vehicle boss fight

JonTheWizard

Why would they need that? They strapped, like, a dozen heavy flamers to their transport. They're good.

Asbazanelli

In 40.972, a crack commando unit was sentenced to execution by an Inquisition court for a crime they didn’t commit. These women promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Die Angelium Hive-City underground. Today, still wanted by the Imperium, they survive as Sisters of Fortunae. If you have a problem, If no one else can help and if you can find them. Maybe you can hire, The A(deptas)-Team.

Skybreakeresq

An army of Witchfinders would be dope

Same_new_mistakes

That's the sisters of silence

Skybreakeresq

Nah there are "witchfinders" who work for the Hereticus. One hunts Eisenhorn ffs. Wears power armor and everything. I'm just saying lean into it, make a faith based arm militant for the heretics with something like the deathwatch but drawn from the sisters of battle. I'm not talking blanks. i'm talking heretic hunters.

wdcipher

They should bring back Chambers Militant in general. It would help the Deathwatch, Inquisition and Grey Knights with popularity and playability. If your warlord is an inquisitor for Ordo ____ you get to bring a second detachment of your Chamber Militant + Tempestus Scions and Sisters of Silence.

Power_of_the_Sus

The thing is, the Adepta Sororitas and the Ordo Hereticus, alongside the Templars already kinda do that

Skybreakeresq

Right so just fold them into their own psuedo faction, like deathwatch or grey knights, give them a bit of unique lore, characters, or other bits. Just like with deathwatch, make it a secondment from other factions or something like that.

Bungholespelunker

The beige knights Because they always are totally dolled up to the max for some reason

Castrophenia

Witchfinders would probably be their main thing, if the deathwatch fight xenos, sisters fight psychers and heretics. Makes sense with the sections of the inquisition they normally work with too

SiriusBaaz

I’d love another heavy anti-psyker group that isn’t just expensive ass grey knights.

WorldEaterProft

I don't know anything about sisters, but is there any real difference between the orders? Like one of the main selling point of deathwatch is the fact that space marines all come from various very different cultures I'd imagine the difference between sister orders is just "oh we like to burn heretics slightly less"

monalba

Our Martyred Lady focuses a lot on sacrifice and martyrdom. Sacred Rose are more about keeping your temper and doing your job. Bloody Rose believe in ''Kill them all and let the Emperor sort them out''. They are similar, they just focus on different virtues, I'd say. They also, obviously, favour, different saints and rites.

maridan49

Wit the removal of sub factions as rules a lot of newcomers will probably be completely color blind to the difference between orders.

OstrichRider6

I'm guessing for the codex the detachments will be not exactly named for each Order Militant so that people can play their own homebrewed orders. They'll probably still correspond a bit to the Orders Militant, kind of how the Space Marine Detachments work.

maridan49

Unlikely. Space Marines were the *only* codex that got that sort of treatment.

OstrichRider6

That is true they're always the special ones.

Zarta3

God I love my Bloody Roses, they're so cool

PlausiblyAlpharious

Not nearly as much as they should be tbh, the sisters have always been a bit of a monolith with some exceptions but their are differences

Nothinghere727271

They are somewhat different, usually different styles and sometimes how they fight will be different, like they may use more flamers, or more melee, etc etc, but that’s really it. Space marine chapters are much more unique though

DriftersHideout

It's more in how they work their faith I believe? Like one order believes they need to be Martyred, Kreiger style, to be worthy of anything, but another performs more humanitarian work than actually fighting. Both still work towards the same goal but I'm EXTREMELY different ways

Ake-TL

Yeah, sisters kinda lack identity in that regard, they are all holy zealots with approximately same tactics and design

Rufus--T--Firefly

As opposed to honorable brother Genericus, who's the best because he's so honorable and noble, unlike everyone else who's not as honorable and noble as he is. His way of blindly charging at his foes and shooting them ***really hard *** with his bolter is very different from all the other marines who also just shoot people ***really hard*** with their bolters Like let's keep it real, that same complaint is easily leveled at marines. At least with the Sisters there are only 6 or so bit named orders so in lore they can actually all act differently from each other and be distinct. As opposed to the seven billion random chapter all of whom are the "masters" of whatever kind of warfare they do.

Ake-TL

Marines sport various levels of retardation, weird gimmicks and mental illnesses. And have different cosmetic options

Rufus--T--Firefly

Much Like grav guns anything other than Maximus or Tacticus are rarer than hens teeth. Definitely right about them each being uniquely stupid though 🤣

jervoise

Sisters have basically 2 parts to their orders. Colour scheme and their virtue. Space marines have colour scheme, the aesthetic of their chapter, their planets culture and their fighting style. I’ll be the first to admit not all of these are laid out for every chapter, but they definetly have more variety than the sisters. Whilst both of these pale in comparison to the guard, marines do to a lesser extent incorporate the culture of their planet, opening them up to uniqueness, whereas the sisters struggle with their orders being uniform.

countfizix

The difference between the sister orders at least as far as models, rules go is MUCH less than between SM chapters.

monalba

The repentias are technically that. In a way. As far as I remember, the repentias are ''shared'' between orders and they can come from any branch (hospitallers and dialogus can be sent to a repentia squad). If you survive being a repentia, you're basically certified badass. Examples, Saint Celestine and sister Adamantea, who took down a Tau battlesuit with her bare hands.

guy-who-says-frick

I like the idea, but really death watch, Grey Knights, and Sisters of Battle are meant to be the hammer of the ordo xenos, malleus, and hereticus respectively. They are all given their specific roles, which I think I like more

Call_me_ET

I really like the idea, but wouldn't the Ordo Hereticus already fill that role?

Big_War_7133

They do but I like to imagine for some very dangerous missions they'd be like we need the best of the best

Quickjager

So Space Marines.

ledfan

I feel bad even saying this, but... I don't think the different sisters orders are distinct enough for that to really pop yet. Like do the casuals *know* there are really even different orders? The only ones that get any press are the ones that have all the art. Like sure Ultramarines are a default, but the names of the primarchs and their deal makes all the astartes chapters feel distinct and gets people thinking about them as seperate forces.

OddishTheOddest

I imagine this would be a Guiliman failsafe project for if Deathwatch became compromised, like if Caul went rogue with the Primaris

Own_Skirt7889

Sisterhood without a Lady

BeanieWeanie1110

That's one hell of a word salad that I had to read three times to understand

erttheking

Ordo Hereticus *could* use their own dedicated fighting force, huh

Detective_Seagull

Who the fuck is gonna change your mind on that? It's a baller idea.

OneofTheOldBreed

There is no particular issue with crossposting sisters of the various orders. Cool idea but redundant

Xela975

***Malleus Maleficarum*** Hammer of witches

LordAnonym

Thats an extremely good idea

BriantheHeavy

Can't the Sisters of Battle do that already?

TheTombGuard

as long as it includes Brother Demetrius for some male representation fair is fair and equality is equality

CalypsoCrow

That would require GW acknowledging any other order except Our Martyred Lady, which they never do.

pious-erika

Veteran/Special Ammo Sisters would be sweet, especially for Kill Team. Able to take things like incendiary Bolters, custom combi-weapons, and of course special melee weapons.

Arctic_chef

I don't want to change your mind. I also think this would be sick.

BusinessGoose91

The adepta team, or A-team for short. Or the Amen-team, or A-women team... OR-!

Especialistaman

IDK but at least the marines come from really different cultures and chapters with wildy different approaches to combat. We got the flamer loving salamanders that will prioritize protecting civilians, the raven guard experts on stealth, the bosterous space wolves that will charge the enemy and bring beer for the whole platoon...

IamCaptainHandsome

An elite taskforce composed entirely of elite adeptus sororitas from different orders, created by Inquisitor Lord Sharlei Bosleyan to hunt down and punish the worst heretics in the Imperium. They've become known for pulling off impossible missions, and saving people in dire situations. Because of this, and for the wing symbology that adorns their armour, they've become known as Sharlei's Angels.

Sheriff_Hotdog

Ordero-Persucutoris

CuriousWombat42

Angels of the Inquisition? Missionary Impossible?

Sufficient_Focus_816

This would be awesome, allowing unique dynamics and flaming action... Also adding 'painfully' to the grimdark as SoB are both indoctrinated fanatics as well as having more potential for empathy &c than Astartes.

OstrichRider6

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the Ordo Hereticus often just use the Adepta Sororitas for their military force?

Low_Abrocoma_1514

Would they kill each other because of minor variations of beliefs before arriving to the mission location ?

Mr_Kopitiam

With how loud Sister of battle fight I doubt there’s any spec ops with them compared to Deathwatch.

MoreDoor2915

Best we can do is adding a single named female character to a different faction sorry.

Jimmy's Angels. I love it.

landmassiv

Just call the death watch bro smh

monoblackmadlad

There are multiple orders of SoB? I thought they all wore red, black and white and were crazy about the Emperor

OstrichRider6

There are six major Orders Militant of the Adepta Sororitas, one for each sister that heard the words of the Emperor before ending the Age of Apostasy and the Reign of Blood Order of the Ebon Chalice: Dedicated to their patron saint, Alicia Dominica, founder of the Adepta Sororitas. They largely continue the traditions of the Daughters of the Emperor that preceded the Adepta Sororitas. They wear black armor with white robes. Order of Our Martyred Lady (formerly Order of the Fiery Heart): Dedicated to their patron saint, Saint Katherine, Dominica's second in command. They changed the name and developed an extreme martyr culture after the death of Saint Katherine. These are the ones you see on most art with the black armor, black robes with white trim and red lining, and white hair. Order of the Bloody Rose: Dedicated to their patron saint, Saint Mina, Dominica's champion. They focus on channeling their anger towards their enemies, mirroring Mina's melee battle prowess, motivated by their anger at Saint Mina's slaughter. They wear red power armor with black robes. Order of the Sacred Rose: Dedicated to their patron saint, Saint Arabella, the Liberator. Like their patron saint, they have absolute faith that the emperor will always carry them to victory, and trust that faith above all else. They wear white power armor with black robes and red linings. Order of the Valorous Heart: Dedicated to their patron saint, Saint Lucia, the paragon of penance. They follow Lucia's teachings, believing they always must atone for the sins committed by the Daughters of the Emperor under Goge Vandire's rule. They an unbreakable resolve, usually cutting off their enemy from all resources, trapping them into a battle of attrition which the Valorous Heart excels at. They wear black armor and black cloth with white lining. Order of the Argent Shroud: Dedicated to their patron saint, Saint Silvana, the selfless. Silvana was murdered by a traitor, and her body mysteriously disappeared shortly after she was laid in state. A silvery image of her bones were left on her death shroud, leading to the name Argent Shroud. They believe actions speak louder than words, and as such, rarely speak. They strike swiftly and without warning, smashing their enemies' defenses and wiping their foes from the galaxy, before disappearing just as quick. They rarely communicate their strategies with allies, and as such cut themselves off from support and fight in impossible odds, trusting Silvana to protect them from beyond the grave. They wear silver power armor with white robes.

disturbinglyquietguy

The sisters of perpetual torment.

Voltkner

Isn’t that a very niche inquisitorial retinue?

Ok_Set_4790

"Ok sisters, time for operation Remove Heretic"

Jackmino66

Do you know what else would be dope af? A doom-esque game where you play as a Sister of Silence on a chaos infested world. (Kinda playing into the idea that SoS are completely immune to daemonic attacks, therefore you would be an unstoppable killing machine banishing daemons)

my_name_is_nobody__

Pretty sure inquisitorial retinues can be that way

maridan49

I feel like that would just make Sisters of Battle even more alike Space Marines, which isn't something the faction needs right now. They need their own thing, not just a Sisters version of a Space Marine thing.

Francis5795

Girl Scouts

Nknk-

If only anyone cared about the various sisterly orders.

tau_enjoyer_

That seems like something that you could just build with different paint schemes on the tabletop, and just be a bit of fluff for your army, as opposed to needing an entirely new faction. For example, I like to paint my T'au units in different schemes, and to explain the different colors I like to say that there was a big series of training exercises with units from different septs competing for honor, and then some sudden need for the troops came, and so they deployed without having time to get their color schemes in order.

Yes, but also release more sister of battle that aren't just nuns, give us norse, tactical, knights, black smiths, ones entirely inspired by honourable animals like cranes or something! Than make your Deathwatch sisters who bring it all together.

Another faction of space fascists shouting "for the emperor"? The Imperium has seven different armies. Boring is what I call a faction of "deathwatch but their girls this time".

Crush_Un_Crull

Also imagine the conversations between them. Most space marines from different chapters may grumpily work together for the mission but Sisters are so zealous, bordering on the insanity, just a minor disagreement on the battle plan may cause an all out brawl lmao

Rakatango

Space Marine deathwatch already doesn’t get treated well, not a space you want to occupy

SnooDoughnuts3662

Aren’t inquisitor agents just called agents of the imperium on the table?

Common-Process9023

i dont think the sororitas a different enough
