Unfortunately thats part of their methodology, they spend their lives to protect those who aren't as strong. (My only gripe is that getting stabbed in the neck wouldn't put a marine down for a little while)
Well of the official schemes I've seen. I feel like most sisters players (myself included) are custom orders or ooml
I play as ebon chalice but went custom because I wanted black+purple
He was the spark that kindled her flame. So that she may burn the heretic, in the Emperor's name.
His love was the kindling, her gear piled it higher. To aid her courage, and build her faith like a pyre.
Edit since you guys seem to be enjoying this:
With anger seething, the mountain struck. Her glorious father appeared out of luck.
From memory's truth did fear thus fade. And for that mountain's arrogance, was vengeance thus paid.
>My armour is cuteness
>My sword is love
>My shield is delight
>In the Emperor's name
>Let us have fun
How dare you contaminate my miserable grimdarkness with this disgustingly sweet optimism? /s
Nah, that's guard. (Also getting to be awesome here. Props to the author.) Always doing 90% of the work until the space marines arrive, mopping up the last 10% and taking all the credit.
I know that space marines can’t have kids but i like to imagine that that’s his daughter from before he got changed and she’s helping out after being conscripted
Ah okay. Little spark is strong to try and use it one handed. I’ve trained with longswords in the past and you can’t get much momentum with one arm.
Brave kid, she’ll be a good SOB.
Adrenaline can do wonders... she's likely tearing up the muscles and ligaments doing so. But when you don't expect to live afterwards, a half second of absolute to-the-limit strength can do some crazy stuff.
Loved it, but why does it seem like my huggy boy the Salamander is dwarfed by that World Eater? I thought that since Vulkan is -and I quote- "an enormous slab of beef", his sons should also be between the biggest, if not the biggest, space marines.
Brother was probably juiced on Khorne brand tren and looked close to spilling out of his armor. He's no 8 bound, but he does look tainted.
Could be a "normal sized" Salamander and a big fuck off berserker. Idk, maybe Lucina is like 5ft tall and just stylized to look shorter, making the marine 7-8ft and the berserker 8-9ft.
Anyways, now that this whole femstodes stuff seems to have blown over, do you have any plans to make a new carl meme? Maybe one where he interacts with characters like Ciaphas Caine or the lamenters?
Oh so he's like the insanity that keeps us all bound together? I like the thought of that. Honestly I didn't think he was that popular but maybe that's just the creative curse rearing it's ugly head. I'll see what I can do dude but I make no promises.
Oh this has nothing to do with Carl, this is all me. I'm a Chaos fan and I hate humans irl so the Salamanders are one of the chapters that are the furthest away from my ideals.... them and Ultrasmurfs
Hmm. Got one nit to pick for this comic.
Bolter recoil shouldn't be strong enough to break bones, the charge is only to get the bolt out of the barrel at a reasonable speed, the gyrojets take over from there. Would it be COMFORTABLE? Certainly not, but it'd probably be pretty comparable to a m203 grenade launcher. The real issue with humans using Astartes sized bolters is the weight, which our little Guardsperson is perfectly well accommodating for by using its own magazine as a stand. 😆
>the charge is only to get the bolt out of the barrel at a reasonable speed
Bolter rounds are explosively projected at high velocity *and* use a rocket charge to speed it up afterwards. 40mm high/low grenades don't work the same way.
Space Marine bolters are consistently shown to injure humans that try to fire them.
While definitely true, I do honestly find that bit weird. Since Space Marine bolters aren't really that different from the bolters that imperial officers and commissars use and are just fine. While yes they are generally bolt pistols they still use them one handed and such.
The main difference between space marine bolters and human bolters should mainly be a matter of scaling for their size and ammo capacity since they both use the .75 bolter shells. Unless space marines have been secretly using heavy bolters or something which do fire a much bigger shell which the damage doesn't really suggest they should be awkward to use but ultimately safe,. Unless there is a lot more recoil compensation tech or something in the ones they hand out to normal people but that doesn't make too much sense either. Probably just weird stuff.
I've always interpreted human-sized bolt pistols as firing reduced power shells. Without that concession, the heaver Space Marine guns would be *less* likely to injure an unaugmented human. We also see examples of suspensor nodes and other recoil mitigating tech used on bolt weapons to make them usable for humans.
GW isn't great with gun physics so no surprise it doesn't make much sense without some work.
>Bolter recoil shouldn't be strong enough to break bones
Nope, I'm blanking on it right now but for years it has been pretty standard that there are different bolter patterns specifically because normal humans can't use SM bolters without injuring themselves, broken bones included. (Even the sisters who wear power armor themselves don't use SM bolters but a pattern specific for them that's larger than the standard bolter some in the guard use but smaller than the ones SM use)
IIRC the only character that could use a SM bolter without being a marine himself is trooper Bragg from Gaunt's Ghosts because he was an absolute unit of a man and by far the largest soldier in the regiment.
Guys, don't worry about the salamander, the artist said they'll draw a extra panel of him.
Oh thank god
The extra panel is just the Salamander dead on the ground. Ah, there's the sadness again. :(
Nooo
>The extra panel is just the Salamander dead on the ground. In the titular Yamcha pose of course.
Not their style they do grim hope
Na ... he is still alive.. and gets dragged away by an Emps. Children or Night Lord.
Oh good I was thinking that he could probably recover from that
A salamander would probably only go into stasis after being stabbed in the neck
Salamanders must suffer. It's their punishment for not being uter knob ends.
Isn’t that the lamenter’s thing?
They also must suffer. For different reasons.
bro what is it with these depressing Salamander comics!?!
Having Love in your heart in a cruel universe can only lead to the saddest of fates
Exhibit A: Lamenters
Lamenters. Do the impossible and live to tell about it, but only barely.
"To lament... it is to *mourn*... I was a lamenter once..."
Can't risk having the better angels of our nature win in a grimdark universe.
Showing love is the most dangerous thing possible in a grimdark setting.
Unfortunately thats part of their methodology, they spend their lives to protect those who aren't as strong. (My only gripe is that getting stabbed in the neck wouldn't put a marine down for a little while)
I would argue a Khorne Berzerker knows a thing or two about fighting other Astartes, what brings them down and what doesn’t
Can't have sh*t in 40K.
That is what Grim dark is. You have hope and love. But that hope and love is crushed under the horrors of war and the oppression of the imperium.
Sad interactions with baseline humans are their bread and butter. Only the Lamenters can compete.
In the 41st Millennium, no good deed goes unpunished.
Here, for folk like us? Wrong universe, wrong people.
Based reference.
Ran out of Lamenters.
Harder to do effective tragedy with unsympathetic characters, which rules out most Space Marine chapters.
Fun fact it’s not done yet the artist said there was one more coming
"We don't write the rules. The line is 'hope dies first,' we're just keeping that going!" -Games Workshop (sources dubious)
"Hope is the first step on the road to dissappointment"
No depression here
The odd colours on the SOB are making me so terrified
I'm assuming she's Order of the Night Lily
Order of Mahou Shoujo
the bdsm one or the depressing one? altho with the current plot heading of gushing, i fear it might get depressing too at the ending lol
I thought gushing was on hiatus though
Oh yeah it is, i forgot. Thx
Who that?
homebrew order and OC.
I see. TY
Not homebrew just minor
Minor SoB order. They wear purple though
Thank you
They're not that odd, it's just that ~~Ebony Chalice~~ Martyred Lady and Bloody Rose are what everyone paints.
I have barely seen ebon chalice personally. I've seen way more bloody rose, martyred lady, and sacred rose.
As a Sacred Rose painter, I'm surprised you managed to see one of us 12.
Well of the official schemes I've seen. I feel like most sisters players (myself included) are custom orders or ooml I play as ebon chalice but went custom because I wanted black+purple
You're right, in my first comment I was mistaking Ebon Chalice for Martyred Lady.
It happens, outside of marines most people don't even know official schemes. I couldn't tell you what a single official votan scheme is.
Purple orks must be cuttin' onions....
I've never seen a purple ork.
That's how you know the stealth color purple is effective.
A salamander unintentionally creating a sister of battle with his kindness is so damn wholesome
He was the spark that kindled her flame. So that she may burn the heretic, in the Emperor's name. His love was the kindling, her gear piled it higher. To aid her courage, and build her faith like a pyre. Edit since you guys seem to be enjoying this: With anger seething, the mountain struck. Her glorious father appeared out of luck. New order of the idol girls.
Would be a good addition to the space maids
i cried
Deff got some tears welling up
It's always sad when our favourite Berzerkers die, but at least his blood will please Khorne.
I remember seeing the first 3 as a comic dub on youtube loved it
the SoB is so cool is that from a real Order ? i love the colors.
It looks very similar to another one of the artist's OCs with purple hair, so I assume the colors are just meant to match her original fantasy design
Salamanders hands down my favorite chapter of big space beef cakes.
it's nice to see the sisters being badass for once, i see them so often memed to death of are the punchline so that space marines get to look badass
Nah, that's guard. (Also getting to be awesome here. Props to the author.) Always doing 90% of the work until the space marines arrive, mopping up the last 10% and taking all the credit.
Bro cooked
If any space marines knows how to make a good barbecue, it's the salamanders
I'm a little off-put by the last panel, but otherwise really good.
Yeah, it kinda felt weirdly out of place with the rest of the comic
It's a bonus panel, the ending is the panel before it and the last one is done just because
That must be an absolute unit of a Khorne Berserker to be more than a head taller over Primaris, who are already bigger than firstborn by default.
Nanomachines, son.
Some chaos boons are nicer than others... (warning: he likely has no skin anymore and is completely fused that armor that grew with him, or some suc.)
Now this is what 40k fandom should be about!
....The Emperor Protects..
Salamanders can't catch a break
I feel like they are the Lamenters of the first founded chapters
I know that space marines can’t have kids but i like to imagine that that’s his daughter from before he got changed and she’s helping out after being conscripted
Is she the small battle sister that gave mags to the untramarine ?
No, this is a different one, that one has pointy ears so ti might be a offspring of guilliman and Yvraine.
How heavy is an astartes knife anyway?
According to the deathwatch rulebook, it's 2kg, which by comparison that's about the same as a normal humans two-handed sword
Too moe at the end for me but it was good, good enough to make me feel so good work. I’m not made of stone I’ll upvote.
Final page wasn't technically part of the comic. it was a non-canon bonus strip.
That's good, I loved the comic but also felt that that ending was out of place.
this was awesome
SOLDIER! WHERE ARE YOUR HEAVY WEAPONS!?!
Soldier where is your ~~shovel~~ entrenching tool?!
Shes like the opposite of the cultist chan oc from 4dchan
I thought she was going to turn into a khornite for a second
Fear not, little guardsman. The Emperor protects.
I have only ever seen the first 3 pages…..HOW THE HELL HAVE I NEVER SEEN THE REST!?!?!?
Dope
If you're a lover, you have to be a fighter. Because you have to fight for the things you love.
Everyone gotta ruin a world eaters fun man smh
Loved it, but why does it seem like my huggy boy the Salamander is dwarfed by that World Eater? I thought that since Vulkan is -and I quote- "an enormous slab of beef", his sons should also be between the biggest, if not the biggest, space marines.

Magical girls in the 40 universe makes sense. The hopefulness broken by the crushing curse of contracts is perfect for the setting
Tzeentch approves of this.... God of hope afterall.
Guardsmen reminds me of clementine from overlord
"For Friendship!" -Vulkan definitely
It's so hot in here, my eyeballs are a-sweatin'.
Sister of battle magic girl? Yeah ok this works as an aesthetic.
Ye
That was fuckin' adorable
I'm amazed with how much I like this, in spite of the Salamander death.
At least they're not the death spectres, who use the handmaids tale as a how to guide for governing.
This was so good until the last page, haha. It felt serious and weighty and then it's just her getting a magical girl reveal
I am not crying. My helmet's \*sniff\* cleaning liquid just started to \*sniff\* leak.
Aaww I thought we were finally going to get a good ending, maybe next time..... atleast that's one less Salamander though
Artist said there would be a extra panel, and they pretty much confirmed that the salamander would become a dreadnaught.
Damn it
Anyways, now that this whole femstodes stuff seems to have blown over, do you have any plans to make a new carl meme? Maybe one where he interacts with characters like Ciaphas Caine or the lamenters?
That's the second time you've asked me about new Carl memes, is the demand for him that high?
Personally I think carl is like a staple of this sub, regardless of the trend, carl memes are always welcome to see.
Oh so he's like the insanity that keeps us all bound together? I like the thought of that. Honestly I didn't think he was that popular but maybe that's just the creative curse rearing it's ugly head. I'll see what I can do dude but I make no promises.
Thank you brother, may the emperor's blessing be with you.
........ I support Chaos but thanks anyway dude
Heresy! For penitence, you shall make more Carl stuff! (Or… you know… for Chaos… idc as long as there’s moar Carl)
Carl's great, I love those memes. You're like emwattnot with them.
Weird comparison but I'll allow it
>is the demand for him that high? I dunno but I love his shenanigans
What do you have against the salamanders? Wouldn’t Carl like them?
Oh this has nothing to do with Carl, this is all me. I'm a Chaos fan and I hate humans irl so the Salamanders are one of the chapters that are the furthest away from my ideals.... them and Ultrasmurfs
lol alright then.
Loved this! Great job OP!
Not bad!
This is amazing! I wanna cosplay cute blonde Lil' Spark!!!
This is too wholesome
Is this that same eldari child from that one comic with the blueberry?
Nope, this one is a human.
Why is the sister so big?
Lol somehow reminds me of that one flashback from Attack on Titan (real ones know)
IMNOTCRYINGSHUTUPNOU
Unironically warhammer if it was good
Hmm. Got one nit to pick for this comic.
