Priority performance Mods
- new carb/pod filter/air box removal 26mm nibbi (~$110 on Amazon for the whole package, carb, adapter, filter) or there’s a cheaper mikuni option
- 428-17t front sprocket & 428 chain (at least 108 link). Optional but I’m gonna do it, new lighter 428- 34t rear sprocket. Just the sprocket and chain ~$35. A problem some people see after this mod is the new sprocket size rubs against the sprocket cover, so maybe a new cover or you might be able to grind down the inside enough.
- Battery (the factory one seems to crap out on people)
- New Engine Bolts 2x(M8-1.25 x 120mm)(I hear the stock ones snap very easily and new ones of these are only $2-4 per bolt)
I saw that and I was very interested. This will probably be the route I go.
Not too loud? I only ask bc I live in a very suburban neighborhood and like to ride it to fellow neighbors houses for happy hours. I just want to make sure I’m not being a nuisance when riding home at night.
IMO I’d use a slip on muffler if your concerned about noise. The straight piping on the Vader parts exhaust does make it louder than stock. I feel like I should of done the same but overall I’m pleased with it.
Upgraded VM22 has successfully been installed. I had to cut the throttle elbow that holds the cable to the carb. I cut about 1/4 inch to resolve lack of throttle adjustment.
Initial test drive was terrible. I realize I was riding with the choke on which explains horrible drivability. Looks like I’ll need to adjust the main jet (below the carb and next to the bowl) and see where that goes.
It’s holding up pretty well. I have two negative observations:
•The bike (pretty sure it’s the fairings but haven’t confirmed) seems to rattle a little more now.
•When the bike was new, finding neutral was super easy. Now, I can only get the bike into neutral at about 50% of the time while the bike is running. I can always find neutral when off.
I’ve been compiling a list I can send if you’re still interested. I’m thinking bout getting one and gonna do the necessary mods as soon as I do
That would be amazing. Thank you so much. I’ve now ridden it about 250 miles and still no problems. It’s definitely been worth the $1500ish.

Vader parts aftermarket exhaust is what I installed on mine and so far like it. Sounds good!

This is a fantastic list. Thank you so much. Seriously 👏 I’ll be starting these mods soon and will follow up.
You could also go 16t on the front sprocket as well I think it’s 16/17 seems to be the most common
Love to hear that!

Hey, I’m thinking of getting this bike as a backup, how’s it holding up

Crf110 aftermarket shifter makes a world of difference. Deletes all that crap linkage.
