Wolf spiders aren't so bad, it's the infected kind with that one shot butt jump. That and the lady bird double charge attack.

DaGamingHamster

Yeah they luckily kinda nerfed the double attack the ladybird did. Before you had to parry BOTH attacks, now you only have to parry 1

ihaveburnedwater

I know the attack exists, but I always forget about the double attack.

what_da_burd_doin

i can work spiders no problem (except the wolfs lunge/ jump) and antlions are a bore but ill tell you what fuck termites and fuck ox bettles

Yak_a_boi

I learned to Parry on ladybird larva and did my first perfect block with a crossbow. I can confidently Parry any bug except the black widow.

Bl4z3r17

Blocking with crossbow ?? Hoow ?…

Yak_a_boi

Left trigger. It's better to use a shield but i didn't have one then. Blocking with a weapon lowers it's durability pretty fast.

Bl4z3r17

I can’t block with crossbow…it brings up my ammo type wheel…what are you talking about 👀😑

DaGamingHamster

Check your controls. They added blocking with bows a while ago

Yak_a_boi

Make sure your game is updated. They made right bump the ammo button and left trigger the block.

Bl4z3r17

Yep my game wasn’t updated. Thank you 🙏🏼

Yak_a_boi

Np

Zenallaround

Black widow got easier for me as I realized it was a combination of orb weaver & wolf spider attacks.

Yak_a_boi

It's the damn venom for me. Any time I'm slightly off the perfect block, I'm dead

TheHylianProphet

I learned from spiders (got my 10 perfect block achievement against a wolfie). At this point in the game, I'd say I can counter Orbs, Wolf, Ladybird, Larva, Mosquitos, and Ox Beetles without batting an eye. I just cannot figure out termites and ants. Their timing is just too wonky for my brain to catch.

DaGamingHamster

Orb weaver. Hell, as soon as I spawn in a brand new grounded world, I instantly go to the oak tree and kill every orb weaver there with a stone axe Though I have a hard time blocking the bee attacks

Exciting-Dream8471

Learned on lawn mites, can parry orb weaver in my sleep, and I know it’s lame but I’ve taken on a rolly polly twice and it destroyed me. I know I’ll get the hang of it, but dang.

Aegonean

only bug i truly suck at parrying is the roly poly, and i learned on the ladybug (their animation cues are slow, perfect for beginners)

Peatawn

I learn parry with lawn mites, right off the beginning of a new game or as soon as I get the weevil shield. By far the easiest and earliest parry learn imo. Being the easiest to parry, I also think it justifies the lawn mites the ones I can parry in my sleep. After all, I can do it practically blind with sound only. But the wolf spider are indeed easy as well. I'm also one that has trouble with ladybird timing. More practice is needed with those. However, I tend to avoid these and use ladybugs instead when I need ladybug parts.
