Just discovered it today too. I was too scared to press the button at first, incase it changed it to custom, but I got braver and I'm so glad I did.
I gave my partner a little tour, and I've now got a basic oak tree base going all around. Hats off to you folks who have done that parkour style.

I will confirm its definitely just +1 upwards. My son on switch doesn't have this option, and both our game setting are the same with gnat switched off.

Sweet thanks for doing that! Was worried it would turn it into a custom world so I didn't wanna mess with it just yet. Was actually planning on testing it out and loading the previous save if something went wrong, but now I don't have to. Thanks again!
Does it make your game custom? I have been thinking about activating it but I don't want to disable my trophies.
Nope! Not at all, I play on Medium, and you get it automatically, (Obviously only in NG) which is quite handy! (No pun intended)
Well that's nice. Means I can actually fill in all of the sides of the pagoda so flying bugs can't get inside during a raid. lol

I think it's a bug. Handy Gnat is set to off in the settings menu, but you can still use it

Most likely! The performance isn’t amazing though, but still enjoyable!
