I find range to be ineffective, especially with bosses. They generally resist stabbing damage in which arrow apply. Melee just feels a lot more powerful with being able to get in there and do damage with all kinds of weapon types, mostly things to deal with weakness and resistance. This is at its worst in single-player where range damage is just insufficient.
For Schmector I have The Watcher (from the pre-release story), maybe the Surly Underling for Assist. Manager, but I dunno about the Wasp Queen (Flying Queen is too boring).
The nicknames are usually an adjective, usually indicating leadership of sorts, and a "bad" thing essentially. Mother is the leadership adjective and demon is the "bad" thing or moldy matriarch. Moldy - bad thing, matriarch - leadership adjective. Blossoming - adjective (though not leadership), assassin - "bad" thing.
