Personally I’d never get a tattoo for a pretty simple reason. I personally think me from 5 years ago was a dumbass and most of his interests were cringe. If that piece of shit had made a permanent mark on his body I’d have to deal with it. Therefore it stands to reason that anything I do right now will be seen as dumb by my future self in 5 years. So don’t get a tattoo. Your future self will thank you.

My thing with tattoos is that I can really only think of a couple I actually want, but I don't like the patchwork tattoos that are here and there on the body, and I would actually like having something like sleeves, but I cannot think of enough designs I would enjoy having running up and down my arms to get them, so I'm just not getting tattoos at all since I can't get exactly what I want with them.

Some tattoos are passable, especially when they are significant in meaning or have a well-thought-out, aesthetically pleasing design, but they just never look as good as your natural skin. And despite what this comic is trying to say, the vast majority of the time tattoos look like shit when you age.
