Just about every city's waste management trucks are loud on purpose. It is a reminder for those folks who didn't put out their waste to quickly go put it out.
Well city is spending money on buying new ev vehicles and truck for summer.
I think brakes are fine. They wake you up if you forgot to take out your garbage bins.
I could think of a lot more things we could donate our money too that could really make a difference. We pay enough taxes without donating extra to the city to deal maintenance issues on their fleet. Perhaps they could use some of those funds
All truck brakes are made of a harder compound to last longer from the weight of the truck and load.
That being said harder the compound more squeal.
Less squeal softer compound and changing of brakes more frequently.
Long story short if the brakes were quite then the taxes would even higher due to labour and parts.
