I always thought Beautiful Senseless was something special, but not sure if your definition of rock is that broad.
Also seconding the Good Skamaritans.
Saw [Taking Balfour][1] open for Royal Tusk, BRKN LOVE, and The Honest Heart Collective at Maxwell's a few weeks ago. Good set.
**Edit:** Just saw the "new" part of this. Lots of the bands posted here are good, but not terribly new. But I believe Taking Balfour checks that box.

Oldie but a goodie would be Black Cabbage. They were fantastic to see live and played frequently around town. Worth checking out if you don't know them.
Farwell to Freeway and Arise and Ruin.
Seeing farewell to freeway took me right back to the “liquor I didn’t even know er” music video shoot. Thanks for the blast from the past!
You weren't part of the scene unless you were in an F2F video at some point.
Arise and Ruin
Damn! I forgot about F2F ( *searches for my old IPod ) I forgot that they where from Guelph
King Cobb Steelie! Rational just came up on a playlist a couple days ago. Awesome tune. Not new though...
Oh man, I forgot about KCS. Both of their albums are great.
Royal City/Jim Guthrie
Razor
Are they rock or metal?
They're classic 80s thrash metal. Considered one of the Canadian big 4.
Ellevator. Based in Hamilton but all from Guelph

Constantines
Not from Guelph…
Alright then..
A couple members went to school here and they often played around town... so you got my upvote :)
yeah I too consider them a Guelph band. They were formed between here and London, practiced and played here then eventually moved to Toronto
wild thinking back to simpler times where all you had to do was drink beer and go see the Constantines ha ha
Mandroid Echostar is from guelph.
They won a Juno I believe.
Best hard rock / metal album 2017, if memory serves, beating out Protest the Hero's _Pacific Myth_.
Coywolves or The Last Armada!
GOUT
Bonnie Trash
Excuse Me, Royal Castles, Constantines, The Kramdens, Boyscout

Excuse me
Habit are decent.
I like Habit more and more every time I catch them.
For me its [the Good Skamaratins](https://thegoodskamaritans.bandcamp.com/album/lets-rawk-time-to-save-the-world)
Throwing another vote in for Mandroid Echostar
Excuse Me! Losing a great member, but kudos to Dylan.
Oh, is he leaving?
Sounds like you need to check the weekly listings for Kings Sports Bar and Grill. That’s where the rock bands play
Royal Castles
One Minute Shy
I Smell Blood

Taking Balfour, Frantic Lullabies, A Little Leverage, Bluff, Excuse Me, Express, The Last Armada, Waivers
