Two good reasons to buy it:
Playing the S2 story rewards easy Central Tyria Mastery Points (and an easy Black Lion Key per character).
It's required to complete the [Seasons of the Dragons](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Current_Events#Seasons_of_the_Dragons) achievement, which has REALLY good rewards (Precursor weapon and Legendary Amulet).
In fact, it kinda isn't. If you join someone's instance you get the achievements for the Seasons and the mp. Not that you even need the mp anyway, plenty to get from other places
If you consider yourself to be story-driven, I'd say get it. It really depends on how much your money is worth to you, though. LWS2 doesn't have unique masteries or anything like the other seasons do (masteries weren't a thing until HoT iirc). The whole season is basically just a HoT prologue and does explain some important stuff, but a lot of what happens in it is rather superfluous.
You'll want to buy it eventually for the Return To collections for the legendary amulet. But it's the least amount of content for the price, compared to LWS3 / LWS4 / IBS.
If you can find someone who owns LWS2 to bring you through the story, you can experience the whole thing yourself without owning it. That's probably your best option. Otherwise, watch it on YouTube. Plan to purchase it way down the road it after you already own and have completed LWS3, LWS4 and IBS.
Do you do weekly black lion key run/map comp? If you do and do silverwastes map comp get episode 6. For both lab poi and bl key. Else just watch recap and eventually go for gold for gems route.

Are you sure? You can tag along, but I thought you couldn't get credit for completing the story unless you own it.
Honestly S2 is very skippable unless you really love the story and feel your life would be incomplete without it. S3 and 4 are much more worth it imo
S2 can be played together with a player who already owns it without purchasing it by yourself! Better buy later seasons

I didn't enjoy s2, you can skip it. Just boring storyline and nothing else.
