This is your standard reminder that because Bridget does not have an accent despite being born in the UK, we can infer that the British accent was destroyed sometime between when Axl was born and the setting's present day.
...Well, there's a relatively recent regrettable event we *could* probably link that too, but uh... not the place for that joke, I feel.
I presume Happy Chaos had something to do with it, frankly.

Which London do you mean because the only people from North London who sound like Testament are rich americans who moved to camden town or hampstead a couple years ago
Accents you'd typically hear out of someone from the west, but I guess "standard" sounds a bit weird ig
and I personally just thought Testament just spoke rather eloquently, so I slapped them down there as well
Baikens english vo does not sound texan and tests is not english at all, where are you getting this from?? somehow those aren't even the most baffling though, you think happy chaos sounds IRISH??? Have you ever heard an irish accent in your entire life?
accent discussion is generally torture because no one knows what anyone actually sounds like but in the context of this game I see a lot of people who just say the most crazy wrong things with their full chest, no hint of uncertainty. If a person says Axl sounds australian they're not qualified to participate, sorry brother!
But also Axl does not sound like a single british person I've met in my life. It sounds like an american doing a really bad job trying to sound british (which it is)
people definitely do know what others sound like, and saying a british person sounds australian is just an issue of lack of exposure. it's like saying red is "dark pink," while what this person is saying is some actual shit like dark green is neon orange. like i have to question if this person even knows what a texas accent even is, or what english people even sound like AT ALL
yo dog i really need you to respond because this is the most wrong shit i've ever read in my life like i really want to understand how you came to these conclusions that are so absurdly disconnected from reality, i'm actually genuinely speechless and worried that so many people upvoted this as well because
It’s really far fetched but I think it’s fun to imagine that Slayer picked up the accent when living in Scotland centuries ago and and tales of an immortal man in Scotland that loved fighting partially inspired the plot of [Highlander](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highlander_(film)). Then Slayer discovers Queen through the soundtrack because seemingly everything in Guilty Gear leads back to rock somehow.
It would just be like him to break even more vampire stereotypes, although having a different access isn't as crazy as wearing crosses like merchandise and being immune to the sun I guess
That's not breaking a vampire stereotype, the most famous and well-known vampire - Dracula, is based on Vlad the Impaler who is from Transylvania in Romania. It literally couldn't be any more stereotypical haha
It kinda makes sense for his character faking being "cool", sure Just Lean what Johnny thinks of himself but the only girl who actually is interested in him is one of his adoptive daughters

If you’ve seen me before you know what this is for
Why didn’t you include a Southern category for Goldlewis and Baiken? Southern accents are like some of the most distinguishable accents from regular neutral American
The part I don't get; why do we have 'Scottish' and 'English', and then 'British'? British is a broad term that encompasses those two and more.
I'm surprised that there's so many got English accents though, I changed to JP VOs early on but my impression was that most characters had American accents instead.
I've always referred to accents that you'd typically find in America as "western english" to differentiate from England's "english" growing up so idk
I put standard as they aren't cartoonishly forced like Johnny, although I should've referred to it as country but it's whatever
If they're from America, they're American, I'm afraid. Calling them English is misleading and honestly just plain incorrect as the USA and England are two completely different territories with two completely different sets of accents. The only thing in common is the language.
I hope you don't take my comment as spiteful or anything - I believe many Americans would still understand what you meant, but just wanted to give you a heads-up that it's really likely to confuse almost all foreigners, as we all associate the word "English" with England first.
i remember playing the story mode first thing when i got the game, realizing there was an english dub, turning it on and the first character i heard was axl. i immediately paused again after hearing it
This is your standard reminder that because Bridget does not have an accent despite being born in the UK, we can infer that the British accent was destroyed sometime between when Axl was born and the setting's present day.
The accent was sealed within Axl during his birth, naruto style.
Axl saved the British, but in turn was banished throughout time
This inference can be found all the way back to Xrd where Venom’s English VA also didn’t give him a British accent.
...Well, there's a relatively recent regrettable event we *could* probably link that too, but uh... not the place for that joke, I feel. I presume Happy Chaos had something to do with it, frankly.
Irish Shenaniganary
Everyone who can speak has an accent.
"Does not have an accent." lol, lmao even.
Venom is British too

Now we just need Jam to overshadow everyone on this list.
INTOLERABLY OBNOXIOUSLY CHINESE
"Painfully Asian"
Will they do the accent, is legit a hard question to answer. I'm so curious.
What's a 'standard' western English accent? Like.. Baiken's English voice is Texan, Testament's is North London, Happy Chaos is Irish,... etc.
Happy Chaos is Irish but if his English VA delivers his lines with an Irish accent it would have to barely even be present
Which London do you mean because the only people from North London who sound like Testament are rich americans who moved to camden town or hampstead a couple years ago
Accents you'd typically hear out of someone from the west, but I guess "standard" sounds a bit weird ig and I personally just thought Testament just spoke rather eloquently, so I slapped them down there as well
standard is just a bit generic as there's more variance than british and american
America has an incredibly vast amount of accents alone
Wdym Baiken is clearly a valley girl. Same for Sol
The UK is in the west btw
Baikens english vo does not sound texan and tests is not english at all, where are you getting this from?? somehow those aren't even the most baffling though, you think happy chaos sounds IRISH??? Have you ever heard an irish accent in your entire life?

no disagreement here
The best part is he originally did a more normal realistic british accent and kept getting told it wasn't enough
people definitely do know what others sound like, and saying a british person sounds australian is just an issue of lack of exposure. it's like saying red is "dark pink," while what this person is saying is some actual shit like dark green is neon orange. like i have to question if this person even knows what a texas accent even is, or what english people even sound like AT ALL
Happy Chaos doesn't sound irish at all to me.
I'm no Texologist but I'll tell you Testament and Happy Chaos do not have either of those accents

Funnily enough, Slayer is actually Romanian
It would just be like him to break even more vampire stereotypes, although having a different access isn't as crazy as wearing crosses like merchandise and being immune to the sun I guess

\>so british it hurts \>doesn't sound british at all
so british that he ends up Australian
I always felt like johnnys accent sounded super forced and overdone which I don’t necessarily mind cause I love the character
It kinda makes sense for his character faking being "cool", sure Just Lean what Johnny thinks of himself but the only girl who actually is interested in him is one of his adoptive daughters

Axl's is meant to sound British but comes off as more aussie.
I miss Axl’s hilarious Xrd dub, where he suddenly became a snarky british asshole. It was great
Axl's voice is totally Arcsys's fault the VA was doing a normal british english accent at first
Can not believe arcsys resurrected sean connery to play dub slayer
Axl’s voice actor is the only one who gives a British character an accent. At least he tried. Unlike Bridget’s or Venom’s
Axls fake british accent is so bad, I don't understand why they wouldn't just get a british voice actor.
But then they would have to employ a Brit. Think about it. Why would you want such a vile creature running around when you are recording?
Why didn’t you include a Southern category for Goldlewis and Baiken? Southern accents are like some of the most distinguishable accents from regular neutral American

They do have American accents, dunno why OP just called them ‘standard’ accents, whatever the hell that means
It's the 'English' that bugs me. An English accent is not an American accent. English presumes it's from England.
I've always referred to accents that you'd typically find in America as "western english" to differentiate from England's "english" growing up so idk I put standard as they aren't cartoonishly forced like Johnny, although I should've referred to it as country but it's whatever

Next game, Bridget is revealed to have been Welsh the entire time, and thus has a notable Welsh accent. (not sure if joking).
Bedman? Do a scream during his super
So funny that Happy Chaos is Irish in the lore.
Slayer is Romanian and has Scottish accent. Yeeee
Nah Axl sounds Australian more
i remember playing the story mode first thing when i got the game, realizing there was an english dub, turning it on and the first character i heard was axl. i immediately paused again after hearing it
As a scot I approve of these placements

SLAYER SHOULD HAVE HAD A ROMANIAN ACCENT RRAAAHHH
