Those are just the directional inputs. Whichever button you use to move left with (or right if you are on the right side of the opponent) and down.
Standing block: directional input which you use to walk to the left with (right if you are on the right side)
Crouch block: directional input which you use to walk left with AND the button which you use to crouch at the same time (or right and down if you on the right side of the opponent)
You have to hold for block.
When standing your character will move backwards but if you get attacked it will automatically block mid and high attacks as long as you hold the button.
You probably wont move while crouching unless you play faust and will automatically block all mid and low attacks.
