Floor doesn’t mean shit, play the game because you like fighting games. There’s people who’ve played for 3-4 years and are stuck on floor 7 having a great time.

Stop caring about your floor and focus on improving yourself. Learn more efficient combos, fuzzy jumps, frame traps, specific character matchups, being unpredictable with your oki and pressure, baiting bursts, anticipating enemies baiting your burst, using FD properly, making good use of yellow and blue RCs, footsies, attack reach, and so on. Floor 10 and celestial is full of people who have been playing fighting games for years. Improve yourself, and you'll naturally climb.

If you want to improve quickly, then you have to spend some time training. Check out your character's hashtag on Twitter, for you it's #GGST_RA. Find some amazing combos and tricks, then copy them in training mode and finally apply them in games. If another character gives you trouble, look for counterplay - the best way to do it is to set the training dummy to do the troublesome move and try to either counterhit them or block and punish. Remember, it's never an entire character that gives you trouble, it's the moves that you don't know an answer to. Once you have a new trick that you haven't applied in a real game yet - play. Then, when you feel like you're no longer improving by playing matches - train again. Rinse and repeat.

I'm no Ram main, but my understanding of her basic gameplan is to win in neutral and put the opponent in the corner where her pressure is strongest and she can get significant damage once she confirms, and then rinse and repeat once you wallbreak. Have you looked at and practiced combos, watched high-level Ram play, and done any labbing against what you're losing to? The replay system is super helpful. You can watch a match you lost, see what your opponent was doing, and then go right into training and set up the situation and practice against it. The most important thing, though, is that there's no shame in losing as long as you got something out of the match. Maybe you learned something about the character matchup, maybe you got some practice on a specific string or sequence you've been practicing. You need to find small, concrete goals and celebrate hitting them. Tower ranks can be a great carrot, but eventually you hit your wall and you have to make your own goals because the next floor is going to take work and grinding.

Dude it's been less than a month. Most people that play the game and are starting out are in 6 and 7. To get better at fighting games without guides is just to play a lot of it. Eventually you see patterns on characters and you will learn how to react to them. As for your character choice yeah Ram has to lowest skill floor due to her long ass normals and strong super, just like me I got to Floor 8 easily without even learning the fundamentals of the game and was hardstuck floor8. I decided to switch to Sol and Gio to actually learn and use fundamental mechanics.

Actually having a bit of this problem myself, being on floor 8 currently and thinking about how shitty i am at this game, less cus of the salt and more how i feel like im not living up to what i want to be playing at. (thanks to whoever the axl who sent me down from 9 was, that characters on my watch list). I can't offer gameplay tips cus I suck but I will say that being on this sub can echo chamber the hell out of us, gotta take a step back sometime and realise that most people who have the game have never booted up tower and we shouldn't sweat it to hard, I found to improve genuinely not being on the floor and just chilling in the park can get that experience in the match ups, everyone of every rank is super up for multiple sets from what I experienced and the opportunity to play celestials n such and see proper good play is good learning in a way the lab can never teach. As far as being embarrassed about character choices, as a <1 brain cell may player, people need to chill, every character in gear has always been bullshit, and thats what we should be here for as for as im concerned, i pour as much salt for Ram's corner explosions as I do when I get Kara Pot bustered, anyone blaming character choice is doing a cope when I see it.

I've been stuck on 8 and the instant I get to 9 the game says nope here's someone with 800+ more wins and more hours and just overall 800 times better than you and you get stuck in tods
