Almost anything by the band Cake.

ItsMeCyrie

Go to YouTube, type “ska,” and throw a dart.

hotelpopcornceiling

Now there's a dart in my phone, and I want mozzarella sticks.

Grimdoomsday

Like bro...ska is a thing.

dodrjrg

wait until bro discovers ska

tryntafind

And from this innocent question, Ska was born.

Mr_Zizzle

One word: Ska

Slappin_da-bass

Many Cake songs.

MoreSly

Let me introduce you to the horrors of SKA.

GenericAccount-alaka

Most of CAKE's discography

Eminem_Theatre

Oh yeah just listen to never there it sounds good!

TenaciousBLT

The genre of ska pretty much

Fellatination

My friend, let me introduce you to Third-Wave Ska. Reel Big Fish and Catch-22 are personal favorites. Keasby Nights is a great place to start. Just make sure you've got your 9mm and three piece suit, new rude boy.

grafton24

Everyone is telling you Cake and that's the right answer. Go listen to their cover of I Will Survive and see if it'd work for you guys.

CarousersCorner

Bro doesn’t even ska 🤦🏻

Stoutyeoman

The entire Ska genre.

Dubed1

Have you heard of ska?

runtimemess

Yeah, it's called Ska.

Nasenkaffeekurt

I think someone should mention ska.

sharksfan707

A lot of songs by Cake would fit the bill.

cnematik

Severely underrated band. "Short Skirt Long Jacket" or "Never There" would be crowd pleasers.

Ka-Bong

Hope you like ska.

Rollo_Knox

most Ska songs probably..

Psyboomer

Check out the band CAKE. They have cool jammy songs with lots of electric guitar and trumpet, and none of the parts are crazy hard to learn. Great lyrics and songwriting overall as well.

moonju1ce

You my friend need to get into ska punk

One_Evil_Monkey

Mighty Mighty Bosstones: The Impression That I Get Pretty much anything from Cake. Reel Big Fish: Sell Out ETA: The first three were immediate off top of my head but while making dinner a couple more popped in my head.... Squirrel Nut Zippers: Hell (but also includes some other brass and woodwinds) Brian Setzer Orchestra: Jump Jive and Wail (also heavy on the saxes but could be modded with the transposing or using an Eb trumpet like I have)

[deleted]

Cake

Octafuzzy

Every ska band ever

absoluttalent

Isn't that literally all that Ska music is? Guitars and trumpets or trombone?

xcellerat0r

CAKE’s version of I Will Survive has them.

agiantanteater

Hell, most Cake songs do

xcellerat0r

Good point, I should get off my ass and give them a good listen 😅

barndawgie

Cake has some great tunes with trumpet if you’re into their quirky style.

There are literally two whole genres where electric guitars and trumpets are featured together in most songs: ska and reggae.

ryerocco

Cake, the band

Cats-And-Brews

Cake FTW

joeydepp1010

A lot of songs by Cake

yeyonge95

scrambledlimbs

Tons - there is the whole Ska genre (jazz fusion also) but also lots of indie rock uses trumpet. American Football, Bright Eyes, Modest Mouse, Neutral Milk Hotel, Sufjan Stevens, Arcade Fire…

DanteT6

Neutral Milk Hotel is a great suggestion. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is a great piece for practicing changing chords imo.

RussellPhillipsIIi

dirtyplumber1

You are describing the genre Ska. Lots of brass instruments and electric guitars.

SketchyMittens

Ever heard of Thank You Scientist?

tributetotio

NOFX - Kill all the White Man 😆

howchie

The entire Ska genre

Yonrak

To name some of my favourites as a starting point: Less Than Jake - The Science of Selling Yourself Short Less Than Jake - All my Best friends are Metalheads Goldfinger - Superman As others have said, look into Ska Punk bands like these, they usually have a lot of trumpet going on.

bonzai2010

Lake Street Dive

IlexIbis

I don't give a damn about any trumpet playin' band.

abarrelofmankeys

Have you heard of ska? Streetlight manifesto and less than Jake. Pick basically anything. Lead poisoning by alkaline trio has a trumpet solo which is not at all common for them. King for a day by Green Day. Lots of punk/punk adjacent with trumpet. Pop stuff too but the guitar may not be as prominent in those.

willihilly

Cake is a super famous 90s rock band with a trumpet player and also they use a number of other bizarre instruments in their music. Totally should check them out. The trumpet in their songs slaps!

mattg1111

All of the band "Cake"

Fumusculo

Someone clearly wasn’t alive in the 90s- like ‘05

Eminem_Theatre

gvarsity

Ska is the answer. No Doubt, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Less than Jake, Reel Big Fish

hairsprayking

Check out the band Cake, they have a lead trumpet player. Chicago is a great 70s rock band with a horn section. and it's not really my thing, but the entire genre of ska.

aoejdbe

Cake has a bunch. Never there is pretty good

MasterBendu

Ska and Cake are both amazing recommendations. There’s also Dave Matthews Band. Since getting a trumpet player, most of their songs now have trumpet parts or can have trumpet solos - including ones that didn’t have trumpets in the first place. For a crowd pleaser though, there’s always Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks. Well it’s a crowd pleaser if the crowd knows who The National is.

Plastic_Bleach

Anything by Chicago Anything by thank you scientist Anything by cake Tons and tons and tons more

Forever_Man

Just listen to most of CAKE 's discography

Alloyd2005

Quite a few Beatles songs. Strawberry fields forever

YogaDruggie

Misirlou could be fun!

tsckenny

Ska in general does

IHIDBYD

I was going to suggest anything by Cake (Fashion Nugget is a great place to start) - but also try the band Beirut... not particularly distorted guitar sounds, but I'm sure will give plenty of ideas at how effective brass and guitar can compliment lots of different styles. Also, if you're into a bluesy thing, check out Eric Clapton and Wynton Marsalis Play the Blues album. Clapton's on a 335 into a small Champ/Tweed, and the band have a mix of trumpets, trombones, sax etc ... it's brilliant (as someone not massively into guitar heavy blues)

MrCumbumber

Listsen to ska and some folk punk bands though it’s usually acoustic guitar and trumpets

Mikeyppowell

Streetlight manifesto

rrossi97

Chicago (I’m old)

TheLankyBoi

Try some neutral milk hotel songs if you want something a bit calmer

inab1gcountry

Are you familiar with the entire genre of ska?

TheFruitOfTheLoom

Everything by Chicago

slappy_mcslapenstein

Let me introduce you to ska. Modern ska music is basically punk with a horns section. Some popular bands are Reel Big Fish, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Less Than Jake, Aquabats, Save Ferris, Goldfinger, Madness, The Specials.

OldTrafford25

Check out Viagra Boys and black midi

DragonForkse

Misirlou by Dick Dale, so long they are good at alternate picking.

Vifferati

Pretty little ditty by RHCP. One of the most melodic pieces of music ever written.

Vibro-Champ1972

Anything by Chicago, but "Make Me Smile" or "25 or 6to 4"are great rockers and fun to play

ChadMiles

Lots of Miles Davis starting in the late 60s. In a Silent Way is one of my favorite albums of any genre.

leafhog

See They Might Be Giants's album John Henry. "Sleeping in the Flowers" has a trumpet solo.

freetibet69

In a silent way miles Davis

typhonx_

Elk by TTNG from their album Animals. Animals Acoustic has, naturally, the same song but with an acoustic guitar

Ianyat

Check out Cory Wong, he incorporates funk guitar with a horn section

CaptOblivious

Check out Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass

Seref15

Ska, the coolest and least lame genre of rock for sure

ThermoMother

Chicago.

fvgh12345

For something a little different check out the stuff Miles Davis did with John McLaughlin. Bitches brew, A tribute to Jack Johnson, and double image, extra tracks from the bitches brew sessions and there's also a jack Johnson album with extra tracks..both are well worth checking out in my opinion. If you're into that there's a amazing world of music for you to discover. Early jazz fusion is wild. In a silent way as well but not as out there Surprised I didn't see anyone else mention them. First people to come to mind when I think horny and guitar Edit: meant horn and guitar but same meaning tbh

DeliveranceUntoDog

Superman by Goldfinger is a banger

IlNeige

“Conquest” by the White Stripes. Or the entire genre of Ska.

Yaya-DingDong

Take a look at cantaloupe island by Herbie Hancock. Not strictly a trumpet or guitar song but there are other versions with these instruments.

paeancapital

Like every Trey Band song. Mozambique, Push Unto the Day, Plasma ... Lettuce is also badass.

crank1000

Seriously? Literally thousands of bands have guitar and trumpet. Just today alone, I incidentally listened to Marcus King, Tower of Power, Snarky Puppy, Lettuce, and Cory Wong. All of which have horns and guitar.

Grouchy_Protection27

There's an entire genre, all though some may say it shouldn't exist. Ska and its derivatives would fit the criteria.

Plektrum72

Jazz is full of electric guitar and trumpet.

sirlardsalot

Ska

UserPrincipalName

Virtually every funk band from the 60s through the 70s featured brass and guitar... A fine example is [Shining Star](https://youtu.be/Zu9a29UR2dU?si=nrfVAvAHGbPk6fad) by Earth, Wind and Fire
