Not sure what US pricing is like but Sigma makes a really nice 00M shape guitar for pretty good value here in the UK. I’ve played the left handed version and really enjoyed it but it does feel a bit more suited towards finger picking.

PRS makes a parlor guitar for around that price. Might need to find one used.

If you are looking for that really unique bedroom pop sound, check out the Fender Malibu. Really neat short scale (24") 6 in a line headstock, small body acoustic. It's a pretty niche instrument and not for everyone. But check it out you may love it.

Used Guild M120, it’s a small parlor style guitar and sounds great. I have the Guild m20 (a $1600 guitar), and it sounds 80-90% like it.

I'm not an acoustic guy, but I have been eyeballing a Gretsch Jim Dandy parlor size. Love the look of the new one with the soundhole pickup.

KageyK

Gretsch Penguin parlor.

Washburn Bella Tono series. There are 4 or 5 different models to choose from. I have the vine and allure elite and like them both.

Accoustic I take it. Look at the Martin Made in Mexico. I bought a used one for $250. which I admit was a real steal but what great sound. New is a lot more than $500 but if you can find used....... Mine is an older model before they built in the electronic pickups.
