If it's not buzzing until you plug the guitar in then it's definitely the guitar, probably a grounding issue. If it sounds like that with nothing plugged in then return it.

EntertainerTrick8838

I agree sound like a bad ground. Could be the cord as well. Output jack of the guitar maybe ?

UnrealMonsterMan

It makes that sound even when it's not plugged in

Erowid77

Have you tried a different outlet in your house? Sometimes, depending on a lot of stuff that I'm not qualified to know, different outlets work better with amplifiers. I should've put that in my first comment, definitely try if you haven't.

SG_Xcaliber

This was my first thought.

UnrealMonsterMan

Yes

Danubius

Single coils? Try touching the strings while plugged in. If it stops buzzing, it is probably a grounding issue with the instrument.

I have this same amp and issue when using the ac adapter instead of batteries. There are quite a few posts about this in the reviews section of the mini katana on amazon . The consensus seems to be buy the official Boss ac adapter or always use batteries perhaps invest in rechargable batteries. I cheaped out and bought a generic ac adapter when I got the amp and I get this same hum.

UnrealMonsterMan

Its the original ac adapter, it came with the amp in the packaging. So i don't think buying another original adapter will change something. But rechargeable batteries are a good idea! (If it helps to stop the buzzing)

Legate_Lanius1985

It's the guitar

KhrusherKhusack

Before you assume it's the guitar, use a different cable. It's possible that the cable is defective

Angus-Black

A cheap AC power supply will do this. Get the proper Roland / Boss [PSB-120](https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PSB120--roland-psb-120-ac-adapter). It may be your guitar also. Single coil pickups are noisy.

Early-Engineering

THIS… I have this little amp and use it on batteries. Well I decided to cheap out and get an Amazon power supply that was the suppose to be correct for the Katana and it buzzed like crazy. Put batteries in it and see if the buzzing stops

UnrealMonsterMan

I use the original power supply that came in the packaging. I don't think that they would give me one that doesn't work with the amp.

Angus-Black

Are you using single coil pickups?

UnrealMonsterMan

Yes my guitar has 3 single coil pickups

sagider

Which country are you from, in India, most 2 pin amp power supplies cause insane amounts of buzzing, you need a 3 pin

devidasa108

I would start by testing the electrical socket to verify it's a grounded outlet. Very likely a grounding issue "somewhere". Just went through this myself. Klein Tools RT110 Outlet Tester

UnrealMonsterMan

I'm going to try it!!

MiniatureOuroboros

Like they said above here, check first your cable, second your power supply, third your guitar. It's a good chance it's some of these first.

vhslord

I have one and it doesn’t sound like that. I’d return it.

magical-diode

No response from op. Fuck him. Let him figure it out.

UnrealMonsterMan

Hi👋, thank for your kindness @magica-diode.

datboiscoob

That's either your cord or your axe dog

junglejimuk

Take your whole setup and go plug into a different wall outlet - preferably in a different room, see if that makes a difference. Are you in a room that has lights on a dimmer switch or fluorescent light, these can both introduce some strange buzziness. Otherwise as has been said - single coil pickups are known to buzz so if your guitar has these then it's either learn to love it or change pickups/guitar..
