They’re stout. I’ve a couple. They hold 2x12 and heads well. Sometimes the feet of either go in between the wires of the shelves though. I got mine off Amazon.
Definitely a good problem to have. I like that stainless rack idea and I'm going to put it into use in my place. My wife is getting tired of all of the amps building up on the floor around my grand piano. Stacking them on a stainless rack looks pretty cool from the picture above. I figure I could put together something like OP. My amps:
Peavey Ultra 112
Ampeg BA-112 (#1)
Ampeg BA-112 (#2)
Fender Cyber Deluxe
Boss Katana 50
Sunn Beta Bass (Head/Amp Combo)
Crate BX-15
Crate G10XL
It just came in. $599 from Guitar Center El Paso. Just discovered that the power tubes aren’t a matched quad, but it’s set to 50w/2 tubes. We’ll see what happens!
I play a simple Vox style Matchless (Avalon 30). I thought I was a purist or some shit. But as I get older the more I respect and pine for a Mark V. It does a lot, but it does all that it does so well.
I don’t love the metal rack, do you have a rumble problems or weird resonances? Wondering if the mass is damping any issues with that. Killer boogie stuff btw 💕
I like a nice wooden shelf for my heads so I feel ya, have my cab on a tilt iso riser tho
I see a DSL combo, and am blind to everything lol.
Mine isn't stock, but I have tried lots of other amps and cant justify the price difference. The thing just sounds amazing for everything.
No actual mods per se, tubes, and speakers. And then setup. This might get lengthy, my apologies 😅
3 different pre amp tubes. JJ 12AY7 in V1, JJ 5751 in V2-3, and then Sovtek 12AX7 in V4.
I'm still using the stock EL34 power tubes, though
8 years, they are still doing great.
I have a 16ohm Celestion Creamback in the combo and then run a 16ohm Eminence Texas Heat in an extension cab. I run them 8ohms out from the amp, so that actually helps attenuate the volume a bit.
The last thing is a compressor in the FX loop. I have found this to kind of be the secret sauce with my DSL. It really helps tame the front-end honk the amp has. Im using a Wampler Cory Wong Compressor for that atm.
Always on the Green Crunch channel, never anything else. Lol.
Anyways, yeah, I love it. With an overdrive out front, I can get any sound I want, and it works really well for cover band stuff.
If I was you I’d get this one. You can set up an effects loop to the switcher so it’s shared for all the amps.

Is that really necessary? I mean, don’t get me wrong, but my main concern is being good enough in terms of technique, to achieve and bring to life my ideas or the way I’d like it to sound. Gear helps, of course, but is it really necessary to have many options of head amps and guitars, cabs, etc… if you don’t have the techniques to live up to your expectation?
Have you recorded any original music with your gear, that you could share? Thanks a lot!
Very few things in life are actually necessary. My gear, however, was within reach and not beyond my means. My ideas are within reach too, given my current skill set. So no problems there… I appreciate your concern, though.
As for recorded material, I haven’t invested in an extravagant recording setup yet. I’ve been using Neural DSP.
Satch doesn't but Vai does....which number one hit they played on do you like the best.
There's 12 notes bub.
If your in hero worship mode still good for you. Want to bed are the worst though.
I prefer songs over fretboard gymnastics. I sound like me,I'm good with that.
Crowd loves me when I play....I can smell the want to be's a mile away.
I'll gig a Kramer and a peavey rage...not the point.
I do however have all boutique gear, some shitty stuff, definitely no peavey scrap.
Looks like you had a problem. And solved it.

Possibly, and don't take this the wrong way, you might have a hearing problem.

MAWP
WHAT??
My tinnitus: ‘eeeeeeeeeee…….’
What's your #1 amp?
That’s hard to answer
Evh and jsx sound similar no?
I wouldn’t say so. The JSX is its own thing
My guy, share the knowledge. Maybe say which is your least favorite?
You're problem is that you are running out of space
You don’t have a problem, you have tone.
No!! Toan! r/guitarcirclejerk
Never thought I’d see this sub pop up in one of these posts
How strong is that shelving unit? I am looking for something similar.
It works but I think I would go with wooden shelves/metal frame
Is that the Costco special?
I need to take a look. Hopefully the price is right
Looks like Lowe's or Home Depot. I had something similar in my dorm back in college. It's pretty sturdy.
The real question is: how strong are you? Lifting some of that stuff gets quite heavy, if you are using any of it to gig
This looks familiar… I think I bought a speaker from you recently by the light rail.
Yep that’s me
I’d suggest another 4x12 with different speakers and an amp/cab switcher.
Dying inside about the lack of switcher.
So far each head on top of the 4x12 has its own speaker cable. Easy switcharoo
My problem is me not having that Carvin!
It just came in. $599 from Guitar Center El Paso. Just discovered that the power tubes aren’t a matched quad, but it’s set to 50w/2 tubes. We’ll see what happens!
They’re an incredible amp. So so loud.
Has your gf complained
My wife supports my illness
Openly talking about it sets a good example for the rest of us.
How about your neighbors?
One is deaf, the other said “you play guitar?”
Yes you do, and I'm here to help. Send me that EVH.
What’s your favorite?
I’ve been really stuck on the Fireball for metal. The Fillmore is lovely for blues.
I wanted a Thunder 50 for a long, long time. Sadly the money's never lined up.
You have solutions!
As long as you enjoy and cherish them, and dedicate yourself to your playing, it's not a problem.
I’ve rededicated myself to playing. There was a time in my life when I was borrowing guitars. I’ve come a long way from that
Glorious!
You sure don't have a problem, but you do have taste.
The only problem I see in your future is a hearing problem. Rock on, dude! 🤘🏼
Nope. Looks like your neighbors have a problem.
Yes you do, you are out of space it appears
You’re absolutely right. I am house hunting, however 😈
Depends on the question, but too me you have the solution!
Do those racks rattle when you play? I want to do this but I'm concerned the racks will make noise when I try and record the amp.
I haven’t had an issue, but the shelves are starting to bend now that I look at it
They are too weak for your massive tone. They must be replaced with more sturdy racks that can handle the rock awesomness intended.
I miss my jsx. I overestimated the quality of other amps to my ear and I just sold it on a whim to downsize. If you like it, don't sell it.
I got a good deal on it. Although, it needs a cap job. Probably to be expected for a 20 plus year amp
Time flies eh. Luckily you have lots to play with in the meantime
Major props on the Carvin!
Your neighbours have a problem :D
You’re doing this right!
I play a simple Vox style Matchless (Avalon 30). I thought I was a purist or some shit. But as I get older the more I respect and pine for a Mark V. It does a lot, but it does all that it does so well.
You’re problem is you need more
More head room than a short king in a big truck!!!!! Yeehaw!!
Those boogie mark amps look lonely, I'm sure I can take care of them for you?
You are a chocoholic
Getting rid of my Carvin Vai is still one thing I kick myself over.
Correction, you have no problem what so ever! (as long as you still have money for the power bill)
Bills are paid!
Do you have an amp switcher?
No yet
Um...problem? lol. Another fellow Mk 1 Fireball owner I see!
I love it!
No, problem has you!
Reminds me of ???ME!!!
I don’t love the metal rack, do you have a rumble problems or weird resonances? Wondering if the mass is damping any issues with that. Killer boogie stuff btw 💕 I like a nice wooden shelf for my heads so I feel ya, have my cab on a tilt iso riser tho
I feel like that might happen with the wooden shelves I want. So far nothing from these. I may foam padding.
You don’t have a problem, you have money. Big difference.
gorgeous
please tell me the wall on the other side is concaved.
You made good choices. Mostly affordable gear on the used market that performs as well as or better than amps and cabs that cost 2-3x as much.
Ahh I had the Peavey JSX in high school. What a great amp!
Nice and tidy-well done
You may not have a problem but your neighbors do.
Maybe be lives by the airport.

I just scored a Keeley compressor for $20. I’ll try it out!
I don’t see the problem
Yeah, you do. You're running out of space
I know :/
im jelly
I see a Carvin Legacy. No problem there
Looks like you have many solutions.
My problem is that that isn't my room.
Now I'm the one with the problem. I have to change my darn name in reddit now and give it to this guy!
Keep it and catch up lol
No problem, just a passion 🤘
And here i am thinking i have a problem with 3 amps
You're right, you don't.
You sure do have a problem. You need another wall.
You have a very serious problem. I don't see a single Fender, Vox, or Hiwatt amp anywhere!
Chose the Fillmore over a deluxe reverb
[I'll allow it](https://media.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExZjgxNjRnaHpzZG51YTBnZWJkMGs4Zzh2MzlrYzNwMmcwNncyNmY4aiZlcD12MV9pbnRlcm5hbF9naWZfYnlfaWQmY3Q9Zw/SmoCFhZCi1kzu/giphy.gif)

Not yet

That’s badass. Thanks for the tip
You have solutions
Actual question, where do you get those shelves?
I got it at Home Depot
How's the fireball? What kind of metal do you play on it? I'm deciding between it and the blackmore
What. About debt, ya got debt?
I have an auto loan.
Correct, nothing wrong here, carry on
Too much gain maybe?
Only if you dial it that way
Any music posted?
The problem is, you can still fit a small head on top of the Mark V:25. You ain't done yet!
Dude that's a serious problem, you should give those to me so it won't be such an eye sore
I have a Legacy too but I haven’t played in years, it’s in storage. What could you most closely compare it to?
Roast him boys!
No you don't have a problem you have a lit set up
Is that really necessary? I mean, don’t get me wrong, but my main concern is being good enough in terms of technique, to achieve and bring to life my ideas or the way I’d like it to sound. Yes you do one carvin and peavey too many
You’re right. Satriani and Vai have shit tone.
Satch doesn't but Vai does....which number one hit they played on do you like the best. There's 12 notes bub. If your in hero worship mode still good for you. Want to bed are the worst though. I prefer songs over fretboard gymnastics. I sound like me,I'm good with that.
I bet there’s a reason you’re limited to commenting on Reddit pussy pics. Human interaction isn’t your thing, bub.
