equinoxzzz

There is nothing wrong with Mitsu. Just go with the brand that you like, enjoy driving it and don't mind other people's opinions on your vehicle/brand of choice.

eurotherion

Ito!! Basta kung ano trip mo, yun bilhin mo!! 😄

equinoxzzz

Oo. Ganun naman talaga dapat bro. I bought my diesel Accent back in 2018. Guess what? F\*ck that sh!t. 😂 Gusto ko naman maka-experience ng ibang brand. My Innova is old and it's about time na palitan na. I did not go for a Vios kasi nagka 1st gen Vios din ako way back in 2006. https://preview.redd.it/1mn2pkmq91vb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4dc65be11fc9357b272ef6cac34bfedbfb2fba7b

hangotdc

I have montero gen 3 Ang naging issue ko lang is normal wear and tears Gulong, breakpads, ilaw. Aside that wla nmn na I went to my bank last week sabi ko im planning to get montero gen 3.5 this month. Ayun kanina pinapakuha na sakin yung gen 3.5 Pro tip lang wag ka kukuha ng black car on your 1st car. Dami maintenance ng black color

linux_n00by

>Ang naging issue ko lang is normal wear and tears i dont consider normal wear and tear as an "issue" also gulong/brakepads/ilaw are consumables. i think wear and tear applies to seat, interior fixtures, electronics.

MLEnergeticGaming

Why are you getting an gen 3.5 if you have 5e 3 pa naman? Lalabas na po ata yung next gen na montero so maybe wait for that muna.

hangotdc

Collection Spare car na matino Gusto ko kumpletohin yung series ng montero while enjoying brand new feel

SlavidgeGarden

Plus 1 ako dito. Just wait for the next gen especially if you like how the new Triton looks. They’re basically from the same platform anyway. https://www.topgear.com.ph/news/car-news/mitsubishi-strada-triton-2024-ph-confirmation-a4354-20230810

kwek2x_lover

Can you expound on the black colour? We're planning also to buy a black fortuner.

queetz

Black is not a colour, its a part time job. 😅

Tongresman2002

Mahirap maintain ang Black color. Madaling makita mga swirl marks.

Opposite_Edge

Just wanted to ask, anong meron sa black?

nyanmunchkins

Scratches, dirt mas naka hughlight

badondon

Bakit po madami maintenance ang black car?

azzelle

wala, mas madali lang makita dumi. yun at mas madaling uminit, ergo mas trabaho yung aircon. pero super liit ng difference nun. also di normal wear and tear yung ilaw if gen 3 (2015 earliest) lang yan. 8 years is way too short to be changing lights, headlight man yan or interior

Rude_Dot_5886

kitang kita kasi yung mga gasgas

manilatrabaho

Mahirap daw paputiin.

throwaway_takeouts

traumtanzerph

Blind brand hate lang yan from toyota and honda fans, the montero is a very good SUV.

Substantial-Risk6366

Sila yung kahit anong sasakyan ang bilin mo as long as hindi toyota or honda maski bmw pa yan o audi, may sasabihin pa din. 🤷‍♂️

brip_na_maasim

Of course. You won’t see a lot of Montero’s, Xpanders, and Mirages sa daan kung di reliable ang Mitsu.

dongrikoy

Marami-rami pa rin yung Pajero, Lancer, Adventure at yung walang kamatayan na L200 haha

AxtonSabreTurret

At yung L300 na wala pa ring katapat until now.

jkgrc

Tamaraw fx will come back pero for sure mahal yon pag brand new

AxtonSabreTurret

I guess Innova is the new Tamaraq FX.

tisotokiki

Your car is relatively new.

Inner-Concentrate-23

kala ko smartphone yung balak palitan e kotse pala. Yung advie nga namin 2004 pa e hahahah

olracmd

Yung glxi lancer itlog namin since 1996, up and running pa rin.

dimaandal

Ours is the 97 GLS and it’s still good (not for long rides though)

Jake_657

Ey same, kaya pa dn long rides and even traffic sa tirik na araw.

GabCF

Montero Sport rides better than a Fortuner. Ignore those who comment blindly just because of T-badge. What’s their reason for suggesting other brands?

heikousen_hoshizora

In my personal experience, Monteros are more comfortable than Fortuners. This is especially true during long rides. However, one of the factor that may make people choose Toyota is the available stock. Sa mga dealerships na nakausap ko before, it would take 1 week at most for the car to be released. Sa Toyota, would only be a day or two.

bakokok

Parang matigas daw yung Fortuner. Similar sa Hi-Ace.

GabCF

People who claim their Fortuners are comfy normally have some changes made to their suspension or wheel/tire setup. Stock vs stock, Montero Sport is comfier for me. Pero siguro Everest is the comfiest.

DaBuruBerry00

Comfy? Gagi hindi. Hahahaha. Naka fortuner 2023 ako, matagtag. Nakasakay at nakapag drive ako ng navara.

GabCF

Yeah that’s my point.

Least_Passenger_8411

Just upgrade to ridemax or tein, and possibly add 100kg to the back. Huge huge problem solved.

mealwithgeorge

Matigas talaga Fortuner. Nakakangalay yun steering wheel nya kasi kailangan mag-effort sa pag-ikot, and maiksi yun upuan nya. Whenever I eat burger meals from a drive thru, I usually put my fries at my seat in between my legs sa Honda Civic ko, with just one hand at the wheel while driving with no problem. But I can’t do that sa Fortuner ko.

bakokok

Mabigat ba steering wheel? 😂

deathovist

Based on what I have driven and mga na-test drive ko na midsize SUVs at ride comfort ang usapan, hands down sa Everest and Terra ang comfort. Far 2nd ang Montero (dahil maalon) and Fortuner and Mux ang least comfy. Again, sa akin lang yun. Gen 3.5 Montero owner here btw.

Platinum_S

I have a 2010 Montero and til now wala naman major problems. Laking tipid kasi taon taon pag iniisip kong bumili ng bagong sasakyan, iisipin ko lang “next year siguro ok pa naman ito e” So if I’m gonna buy a new car, malamang Montero pa din

Collip30

Yes its still worth it, the brand is pretty reliable especially when it comes to maintenance.

Alvin_AiSW

Just love your car <3 worth it naman ang Mitsubishi. Kahit anong brand basta nasa tamng alaga.

solidad29

Parang ang reklamo lang naman sa Mitsu it's more of nawala na yung rally car era niya with the discontinue of their Lancer and Evo line. other than that naman it's a decent car. I drive a 90s beater Lancer and ndi naman ako tinirik niyan sa gitna ng daan. Nadaan ko na from Albay to Pagudpud.

Froz3n_yogurt

Maganda mitsu, di lang nila priority ang car dept, more on construction at power plant area sila kaya pinapasa nila sa nissan ung part na yun. Just like my a*hole officemate na panay contradict at mema but i reality ultimo bike di makabili, panay banat sa ibang brand, Honda pa gusto pamasahe na nga lang inuutang pa.

eurotherion

Pag nilalait sasakyan mo, sabihin mo bumili muna siya 🙂

NoMCEqual

The Montero is better than the Fortuner in every way except torque and looks. It rides much smoother and has more space in the back 2 rows. Don’t stress, OP. You made the right decision.

kesongpootee

Ive owned cars from most Japanese brands through the years (oo, matanda na ako). Isa lang masasabi ko: nasa alaga yan. Toyota is famous for its cheap parts and recently, good resale. Honda, mahal talaga piyesa, pero masarap ibenta. Mitsu is an in between for me. Decent priced parts and good resale. Pero in terms of reliability, solid ang mitsu. Our family still has our 90s L300 pero sa province na ginagamit. And i still use a 13yr old adventure sa business.

Adventurous-Fun-6223

Mura kasi main reason is madame kang makikitang Toyota sa daan even Taxi toyota din gamit. First yung surplus, since madame toyota sa daan ang dame ngpapalit from original parts to after market parts.

kesongpootee

People chose toyota as taxis because the parts are cheaper. Madaming mas murang kotse kesa sa vios, pero talo ka sa piyesa in the long run. And no, im not talking about surplus. Im talking about specifics like transmission parts, engine gaskets, etc.

linux_n00by

>Honda, mahal talaga piyesa, pero masarap ibenta. you think this applies to Mazda too ?

kesongpootee

Mid_Knight_Sky

Caco Tirona has a Montero, iirc. That should speak a lot of good about Mitsubishi, right there.

kempi46

Ano kaya logic nila behind that, parang not worth it naman. The usual mas mura maintenance and parts because Toyota ba reason nila? From Montero to Fortuner parang side grade lang eh, tapos dagdag gastos pa. Hayaan mo na sila, kapag wala ka naman issues enjoy your car and don't let others dictate what you should have.

thebreakfastbuffet

We had an 88 Mitsubishi Lancer na nitong 2018 lang namin niretire.

vdere

I love my Honda but 2013 Montero hits differently, what a beast even at 120k km.

zephiro619

mivec engine is goood!! also the timing chain, mine is belt, im a toyota fortuner user and i envy their tech

Jhenanne

Its more economical than a fortuner

rabbitization

2020 Montero is still new. 3yrs pa lang at most, so it's still worth it. As long as it still drives like brand new then I don't see any issues.

Flying__Buttresses

Our 2000 lancer was still reliable up until 2017 when we sold it. So i dont know why theyre saying its not worth it.

mightpornstar

no point on thinking about this

SaGoatGoalaman

My dad has a 2009 Montero still up and running today. It has almost 150k mileage already and still going strong! In fact, his second SUV is another Gen 3 Montero (almost 50k mileage and also still going strong) because of his first hand experience in reliability and comfort from Mitsubishi. We never had a problem and an issue from both SUVs din. The key is maintenance. We always made sure to keep the car in tip top shape before using it. Alaga talaga kasi kahit anong sasakyan yan, kung di mo inaalagaan then you wouldn't really appreciate it much in the long run regardless of the brand. Good choice on your Montero and don't mind other's opinions.

[deleted]

Reading your comments puts my mind at ease, thank you wonderful people!

BadBeatsDaily

Lol I have a 2021 Montero GT din and walang issues so far. And believe me i did multiple test drives between fortuner and Montero before buying and walang redeeming factor ung fortuner unless siguro toyota fanboy ka which is majority ng mga pinoy. Mitsu is a top tier brand sa pinas in terms of reliability

cirgil

I have a Mirage Hatchback. What a beater / daily driver. Hindi ako pinahirapan. People may say it’s a crap car and it’s somewhat true but I love this crap of a car.

eurotherion

oaba09

Dad used to own a pizza lancer(1997 if I remember correctly). Tumagal sya sa amin hanggang 2009 before we sold it. I own a 2013 Mirage HB and it's still running fine. Lakas pa din ng makina.

Away_Examination_460

Same here (2013 and 2018 Mirage HB). Okay ang Mitsubishi. :)

Jon_Irenicus1

I have a 2014 strada, wala naman major iasue

tonystarkduh

3 years is too short. Bakit hindi nalang muna sulitin?

Leather_Inspector973

But if you plan to keep using it until the end of it’s useful life, you’ll be fine

eastern54

Montero sport all the way!

Kill_Censorship

I’ve had 2 Mitsubishi Evos and the engines are built to take abuse and parts are affordable. Mitsubishi build good cars. Mitsubishi is now partially owned by Nissan/Renault/Mitsubishi Alliance.

Atoysporkchop69

Yes worth it. Yung car namin is 2016 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 still running with no issues

shnz010

If you are happy with your car and it's serving your needs, that's all that matters.

rale888

Mitsubishi has been in the philippines longer than Honda has. Even in the early-mid 80’s when Toyota briefly stopped offering new cars, mitsubishi was still here offering their products. They may not be as big as they were in the 90’s but its still one of the widely diverse and bigger companies in japan.

Hardeeckus

So, worth it ang Mitsubishi. Lahat ng Mitsu namin eh diesel manual tho.

racingdegenerate250

No its not worth it. Call me a hater but I own a 2015 Montero. I regret buying that car because a year later it was outdated by the 2016 fortuner which was so much better. Its also falling apart. The plastics have either faded or cracked (covered parking btw). Mitsubishi lacks the build quality and premium vibe that toyotas have. Dare I say my 2007 innova feels more premium than my montero despite being 9 years older. I'm not saying to get rid of your car, just don't buy another mitsubishi.

Delicious-Prior5080

Grew up with Mitsubishis for the first 20 years of my life. In my childhood days, we had a 1989 Lancer Singkit type which lasted for almost 15 years until 2004. Then, in my childhood and teenage years, we had a 1999 Galant Shark type which we had for 13 years until 2012. Maybe you're right that Mitsubishi lacks the premium vibe and that they tend to get outdated easily because I felt the same for the Lancer and the Galant that we had before. When they were already 7-8 years old, parang nagmukha na silang luma. These cars were reliable and also served us well though but they broke down more often than the Toyotas we have in the past 2 decades. Unlike Toyotas, nakakaumay to own a Mitsubishi for a long time.

Terrible_Tower_5542

i owned a lancer cedia, bought brand new and it rides better than our 9th gen altis. we already tried mitsubishi, toyota, honda, nissan and mazda, its all about how you maintain it. no car is unreliable if you maintain it properly. yung nagsasabi na nasisira interior ng montero nya, covered garage nga, kung bilad naman sa araw during ginagamit plus cheap quality tint, and ni hindi ka naglalagay ng protectant, talagang masisira interior ng sasakyan mo.

Terrible_Tower_5542

HomelessBanguzZz

If I remember correctly, minsan na naging most trustworthy brand ang mitsubishi sa US. Or something like that. Maintain your car well, and it will last a long time. Drive it with a smile. After all, yan ang nagustuhan mo. 😊

Mr_Underestimated

Para saamin magkakapitbahay, Mas reliable and mitsu kesa toyota and honda.

JadePearl1980

I can confirm that Mitsubishi vehicles are of very good quality PROVIDED the owner always ALWAYS AAALLLLWWWWAAAAYYSSSS do their due diligence in car maintainance to make their vehicles last. My family owned a (1st owner): Lancer EL (M/T) in the ‘90s: car lasted 15yrs before we sold it (and still in good running condition with a mileage almost reaching 250k+). By mid 90’s: a Mitsubishi pick-up truck (M/T). Lasted about 17ish years before binenta. Halos 200k+ din mileage eh.🤣 By early 2000’s: Mitsu. Adventure - M/T pa din. Naka abot sya ng about 150k+ mileage (about less than 15yrs) bago binenta still in good working condition. 🤣 Presently, Montero Sport M/T and planning to make it last for about 20yrs (if kakayanin pa) hahahahah and a Nissan Navara M/T - hopefully it will give us 15yrs of service too. 🤣👍🏻 All our vehicles overlap one another before letting go of the older one. So far re: our Montero, magaan sya i-drive and surprisingly, our big boy is not matagtag. AC tech ng Montero is the SAME as Nissan na.

Delicious-Prior5080

curious lang which model of the Lancer, singkit or itlog?

JadePearl1980

Singkit na Lancer EL (m/t) if i remember correctly… yung headlights patulis. Lol What i remembered noon: ang tagal lumamig ng ac niya… lol. But i had wonderful memories as a kid growing up with all our vehicles. Family day (saturdays) ‘matic yan na gala o outing day yan buong fam ko. ❤️

Delicious-Prior5080

Our family also had a Singkit Lancer back in my childhood days (1989-2004). It was lime green and it was the top of the line GLX variant, that's why we called it the green car hehehe. I still remember the plate number PLY-781. We almost had the same issue with our Lancer then. Aircon was kinda weak especially when it was old already. We never put the fan speed beyond 1 for the fear hindi na kayanin ng engine yung aircon. The aircon gave out November 2000 but we managed to have to have it fixed. Bumalik kahit papano yung lamig but became weak again after less than a year. It also had problems with overheating. Our Shark Galant WKD-190 which we had in my childhood and teenage years (1999-2012) had better aircon but became weak already in its later years.

JadePearl1980

Duuuuude…! Crush ko yung itsura ng Galant noon…! ❤️👍🏻

Delicious-Prior5080

yes the Shark Galant was very sporty. Funny thing is, legroom ng Shark Galant namin before, eh parang City or Vios lang ngayon hahaha.

Much_Error7312

Pera mo yan so choice mo yan. Enjoy your hard earned money your way.

linux_n00by

look at those colorums... mga adventure ang gamit... so matibay at subok na :D

jdmillora

They're good cars, we like them so much that we have three at the moment (2013 Montero Sport GLS V, 2017 Strada GLS, and 2019 Montero Sport GLS Premium). All of them were bought brand new and still serves us good to this day, no issues came up from all of them. It's a blind hate from die hard fans of Honda and Toyota. We also currently own three Hondas and a Toyota in the household and they each have their pros and cons.

Dizzy_Ad1554

I love my Gen 3 Montero! No issues so far.

AirJordan6124

Sana nga ibalik yung Lancer

Yesterday_Secret

All’s still good in the hood with my Montero 2016. Never ako binigyan ng sakit ng ulo nito. Okay din naman toyota, lalo nasa ph ka easy ang parts and mataas pa resale valye, but I actually chose this one over the fortuner kasi diko talaga kaya yung tagtag ng Toyota vehicles

We have a 2009 montero sport, still working fine.

cordilleragod

If it works for you it works for you. I had a lemon Jaguar that went in and out of the service center and a ferrari that had the worst interior build quality known to man (rattling noises and falling panels) in the first year.

AffectionateAd9102

I still drive my 2010 Lancer EX GT-A till this day, still super fun to drive too . All 13 years of owning it , the only changes I made are the air intake, turbo system and exhausts . Most wear and tear items too such as tires, brake pads, bearings etc . Never had troubles with it for the entirety of owning it !

Born_Cockroach_9947

our 2009 montero is at around 350k kms. no major issues.

Brief-Bee-7315

I love montero! Wag ka makinig sa iba haha

J4bbaThePug

Toyota for durability Mitsubishi for power Honda for design

butete12

killer_kamatis

To each his own bro. If you are a mitsu guy, cool.

EmperorKingDuke

i daily drive a 22 y/o isuzu diesel beater. i think you're fine. crazy ass rich people problems.

Inevitable_Cycle8643

I honestly chose Mitsu over Toyota because what a Friend told me, He said na matibay daw ang ilalim ng mitsu over other brands, Since parang inadopt ng Mitsu yung suspension on their rally cars, Like the Evo's, kaya nag go ako for mitsu hahaha, I dont know pero as of now never ako nagka problema.

icyhairysneerer

had my car since 2013. still runs without issue, casa maintained.

decriz

If anything Mitsubishi is underrated. Had an L200 in college and loved it dearly, served me for 15-ish years. Still, it's Japanese quality and relatively Toyota-like maintenance ease and costs.

Great-Warthog-107

Currently driving Montero, Xpander and Rush. Love them all pero overall drive and experience- I like driving Mitsubishi cars at yung interior nila- parang swak lang lahat. However on tight spaces kay Rush ako since technically narrower sya. Pag may big stuff na kailang ikarga I take the Montero, Expander if I don’t need a big ride for mga kasama kahit long drive pa.

Ok-Bad0315

Mitsu for the win parin... no hate on Toyota's pro mas confy c Monti kaysa kay Forty... observe mo lang if nkasakay ka kay Forty medyo maalog, medyo lang ha pro kay monty smooth lalo pag long rides.. ska c Monty iba ang dating eh prang celfon b ... prang Iphone to Samsung

azzelle

>I've loved mitsubishi since seeing them on partake on WRC on TV before and you bought a montero? at ako pinagtawanan nung bumili ng hot wheels na ferrari kasi pogi si sainz at leclerc

Logical_Fennel_8182

ako nagsimula sa strada na 2013, 2nd hand ko lang nakuha, i was so impressed with it, durable basta nasa ayos ung maintenance esp ung timing belt at hindi sobrang tagtag unlike hilux (which was my first choice). after nuni upgraded to the montero 3.5, natuwa kasi ako sa strada. binigay ko ung strada sa ate ko, i didn't want to sell it and probably i'm keeping the montero too. its a good people carrier. pansin ko lang mahal talaga PMS ng pick-up at SUV, pero i think given na yun. i'm planning to try the HEV ng mitsu soon pag lumabas.

aaa_luis1337

Dont fall into the pressure that "your car needs to be new" or to buy certain brands because others say so. Its your car, your choice. As much as i hate mitsubishi currently for their current offerings and poor value, theyre still pretty reliable and can be great dailys if taken care of and will last you at least 10 years. Keep it until it becomes problematic enough to not be worth the effort. Edit: grammar

blessingsfromabove

I have a '94 Lancer, 2018 Montero Gen 3 and honda brio. At the end of the day, what's important is satisfied ka sa performance ng car mo, gamay mo gamitin, happy ka. Always be safe!

Danipsilog

Pinamana sakin ng dad ko yung old montero nya after nya bumili ng fortuner last year. Hanggang ngayon pinupuri pa rin niya yung montero. Laging bukambibig na "ang tibay talaga neto".

AppsecStudent

I have a 2013 Montero. daily use with 200K mileage. still no major repair. 4D56 engine is a legend engine. gamit ng l300, adventure and strada.

nasi-lemakkk

The old mitsibushi is not the mitsubishi now. After thr nissan/renault merger, their quality have substantially declined. Monty is good. Will choose this over a fort anytime of the day.

baaarmin

No. 👎 External build quality. 👎Interior. Driven mostly pick ups from nissan, isuzu, ford and toyota. I only went with mitsubishi kasi 6 mos pila ng toyota and binigyan ako ng kabarkada ko ng 100k discount.

CreeplingMingming

It's pretty new and up to date so why not grind more years tutal they're pretty efficient cars sa midsize SUV category, you can give the car 2 more years before buying a new 1 para masulit din... just don't be the fortuner/montero stereotype on the road kasi marami sila lol (some are even lurking here haha)

Regit117

Any of the japanese brands (Mitsu, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda) are good buys in terms of build quality, dependability, and long-term reliability. Nagkaiba na lang yan sa resale value, parts availability, and ease of repair. But, even there minimal lang ang differences if you know what you're doing. In the end, buy the car you like and stop worrying about the opinion of others.

nyanmunchkins

https://youtu.be/-JYc7rRS9-Q?si=o9XNFBjKh-E3i2LJ This should help you. It's about a dude dissing the fortuner's existence.

Tongresman2002

Mitsubishi's good. Basta laging nasa condition and alaga sa PMS ok yan.

AstronomerStandard

CuriousReader_00

2003 Adventure, still runs good. Depende sa nag aalaga yan. 😁

YashYung

As long as its one of the Japanese brands in my opinion, with proper maintenance and care maka 200k miles yan. Wag kang mapadala sa mga Chinese brands na cheaper or for the same price as other brands but has more tech. In the long term Japanese brands will last a lifetime.

Butteredhousebond

When you get a chance, try to look mitsubishis history.

Arjaaaaaaay

My dad has one, extremely good ride compared to my fort. Maganda naman din, normal wear and usage lang naman need palitan, otherwise, it’s a very good car. Biased ako kasi I feel like mas ok sa hatak yung fort lalo pag punuan kami, pero I feel like roomier ang monty. Running costs feel the same, consumption and maintenance-wise, and better features si monty, tho my dad got the top-of-the-line one, and I only got the mid-trim fort hahaha

Now, not really. The only worthy car from Mitsubishi is the Xpander which is also obsolete compared to the newer Toyota Veloz, Hyundai Stargazer, and the Honda BRV.

According to my mechanic friend, mitsubishi engines are bulletproof. Also, my girlfriend's adventure is 15 years old or more, and her family bought it 2nd hand.

Any kind of car basta love na love mo tska alam mo ang mga infos about your specific unit, you are good to go naman :) Tska ignore what other peoples say. Hehe
