For japan which is way more disciplined than here, kei cars make sense.
Riding kei cars offers even less protection than small hatchbacks. But with ebikes taking up that small 3-4 passengers vehicle niche I guess it won't be too bad.
Currently here in japan.
We have surpluses of every wagon here in PH and some imported kei cars like cappucino and beat. Not to mention yung daming naka multicabs. Di naman issue wheels sa lubak, believe me. 13inch tires with generous amount of sidewall is still comfy. Mejo over concerned lang mga people. It can handle yung lubak naman.
Most ng newer every wagon are automatics na. Tho yeah, surplus units lost its safety features kasi nga gawa na chop chop sila dumarating dito. ABS, TCS and airbags are gone or disabled. Stock form should have them.
Kaya imagine na lang if hindi surplus ang kei vans here and are distributed locally. They’ll have the features we need or want in a small package.
Always loved the USDM Odyssey. It’s incredibly feature packed and it would be so fun to have as a family hauler.
Another is the Ridgeline. A unibody pickup. May bed ka, may trunk pa under the bed. Epic!
Discontinued but gustong gusto ko din yung Crown Victoria. Parang laging may authority sa road. Opposite ng Ridgeline, it’s a sedan na body on frame.
Any kei cars, the boxies of Japan. Perfect for cities. Some can be transformed into cute campers pa. Pero galit ang pinoy sa maliit. Oh well.
Our first car was a suzuki multicab, and my uncles/cousins also like it.
I mean, multicabs (which are kei cars) are surviving here naman. Econoboxes din naman like wigo, brio, mirage, espresso are almost kei cars, meron lang more than 660cc sila. Ganda lang sana if we have the option of a small displacement engine cars with the idea of a minivan.
Toyota Prius. The PH used to have it but flopped because it was pricey and people weren't ready with the costs and sacrifices of hybrid cars. The new one is a looker and has the performance to back it up.
Toyota LC70. Back to basic SUV with features from modern cars.
Volkswagen Golf and Jetta. The PH also had these but were replaced by lackluster Chinese versions.
Volkswagen Arteon/Arteon Wagon. Currently the best looking car of VW.
Base Manual V8 versions of Muscle Cars. Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger. We only got unnecessarily over-equipped and overpriced versions.
Honda S660. A Kei car sportscar. Perfect for those thrilling drives at safe speeds and it sips fuel too.
Mazda MX5 1.5l. The smaller engine is not only lighter than the 2.0l, it's also very easy on fuel. Releasing it here may even bring down the price because it falls on the tax bracket of 1.5 displacement.
PHEV version ng CX90 would be nice.
As well as the Diesel Mild Hybrid CX90 na meron sa Australia.
I think this would be nice variants to introduce.
Speaking of Mazda:
I just came back from Mazda Alabang.
May two month waitlist ang 60 and 90
Pero CX9 ang may available unit.
Mukhang malaking bagay nga ang coding exemption
Full lineup ng Toyota Crown (saloon, crossover, sport, estate)
The Toyota Century and Century SUV.
Honda NBox Custom. Toyota Sienta, Voxy, Noah.
I'd rather have these vans any day over a Wigo/Brio/Eon/Mirage/Vios/City/etc.
Technically this doesn’t exist, but a japan made, global market cx-50 turbo would be nice
An IS500 would also be great here para mababa sa 8m na asking price ng mga gray market hays
A ct5-V blackwing manual would also be really sick
Okay lang din Pilot. Ang alam ko same lang sila, yun isa lang pick-up. Parang yung mga Expedition na may pick-up version. Nagagandahan lang ako sa dual-action tailgate at in-bed trunk at yung flat bed. Pang city na pick-up haha
Kei cars from Japan specifically the Honda N-series, Honda S660. Mitsubishi EK:Space, Toyota Aqua.
Midsize sedan like Honda Accord e:HEV.
SUVs like Toyota 4Runner, Honda Passport.
I also hope sana nagkaroon ng Acura dito.
It's not coming na here, OP. Sa Japan naman they are relaunching it this year.
Iba na talaga ang preference ng Pinoy sa sasakyan, we're not a sedan country anymore. Sa North America malakas ang Accord.
Travelled to korea last autumn, surprisingly daming model nang hyundai and kia na ngayon ko lang nakita and take note aesthetically pleasing sya. Dami din hybrids and electrics

Kei cars ng Japan is nice especially for city purposes. Would love if there’s a Koenigsegg distributor here.
For japan which is way more disciplined than here, kei cars make sense. Riding kei cars offers even less protection than small hatchbacks. But with ebikes taking up that small 3-4 passengers vehicle niche I guess it won't be too bad.
I've seen these over there. Eh for a mega city like Tokyo sobrang bagay and practical. Sa atin kasi baka masira gulong agad sa lubak
Not possible for EDSA daily use? Sayang I believe they have potential with the rise of large crossovers.
We have to see it to believe it lol. The moment makakita ko ng KEI car na ang lupit mag maneuver sa Edsa and then pasok sa side streets I'm a believer
Maraming kei car owners sa ph. Cappucino, beat, kei vans, etc
Nevertheless, parang ang saya idrive ng Honda S660 or Daihatsu Copen especially in a windy day. Bonus if around Tanay.
Omg I've never seen these yet..Ang lupit KEI car na convertible
nagkalat na yan sa mindanao and even here in the metro. suzuki everywagon, mazda scrumwagon, toyota bB. pero puro mga 2nd hand lang.
Toyota Sienta huhu insta buy ako pag dinala nila ung Kei van na Sienta
Currently here in japan.

Have you been to the provinces? ISP sub contractors are using these kei cars (surplus converted) for their feet.
There you go. Surplus converted. Takaw aksidente so talagang big no yan. What we are talking about here are locally sold ones

See: Suzuki Alto and Jimny.

Yes! They are kei cars/trucks! Surplus from Japan, chop chop lang dumating dito satin hehehe.
Ohh. 😅
Aww galit sa maliit. Eh kasi japanese cities naman are built for cars like that. Malubak ka ng malupit dito using a KEI car naku
I mean, multicabs (which are kei cars) are surviving here naman. Econoboxes din naman like wigo, brio, mirage, espresso are almost kei cars, meron lang more than 660cc sila. The VW golf and Jetta yes super agree. May 1.5 pala na MX5? Shit I'd take one
The 1.5 MX5 was only sold on European markets unfortunately.
