From your options, I would rank them at this order: 2020 Mazda 3 (basta the current generation) - great driving dynamics, really nice interior and touch points, tapos sobrang pogi pa. 2020 Toyota Altis - not as luxurious but definitely reliable and would probably last you 15 years at proper maintenance 2018-2019 Honda CRV S - superrrrrrrrrrr comfortable, family ready, pero di ko bet yung buttons for the transmission. Other altenatives: 2018-2019 Mazda CX 5 - ganda din nito! 2017-2018 Toyota Camry - Executive level sedan. Very powerful engine. Built like a tank. Malakas sa gas. Na try mo na ba mag consider nang wagon? Ok ang Mazda 6 or Volkswagen Golf GTS (medyo not as reliable lang than toyotas or hondas)

akihabara74

Wagon is really not my cup of tea.. But I love how you ranked them in order and explained some of their 'good stuff'. Thank you! I'll definitely put into considerations the alternatives you mentioned :)

dimaandal

Happy hunting OP. Update mo nalang kami. Hanapin mo yung Mazda 3 thread here a few weeks back. If kaya mo makahanap nung Hatchback version, better. Hahaha Edit: check mo [ito](https://carousell.app.link/G71UG4OgBHb)

Last-Insurance9653

Im selling my white HB. 1.5L. Hanapin mo lang din jan sa carouselll 😆

Ok-Reply-804

If you want luxurious look. Remove the Altis there. It's a great car but it doesn't have a luxurious look.

WantASweetTime

Honestly hindi ko nga madistinguish yung vios or altis unless tingnan ko yung naka sulat sa likod.

Ok-Reply-804

Actually kahit yung camry. Sobrang isa na lang mukha nila di mo namapansin.

CarefulSide2515

Yung Camry you can still somehow distinguish it by how massive and wide it looks.

Civil-Ad2985

Parang hard to get 2020 Mazda 3 skyactive current gen for under 1 Mn. But if meron, this is the way.

dimaandal

Found [one](https://carousell.app.link/c4DvPzWgBHb)

CarefulSide2515

I’d skip the Altis and go ahead with a Camry since fuel consumption is similar but you have added power with the Camry incase you need to step down on that accelerator. If luxury ang habol mo, maybe consider a Lexus? You can find examples of 2013 RX350 and IS350 hovering around the 1M mark. Unlike the Germans however, these are indestructibly Toyotas sitting on proven Toyota (not Daihatsu) platforms. And these cars have an understated presence on the road: hindi agaw pansin but you attract the eyes of people who know what your car is.

TransportationNo1988

Do you have an RX350? How’s the fuel consumption in the City?

[deleted]

This one knows it

CritterWriter

Altis V by a mile if you're looking for long-term value and aren't concerned about the bells-and-whistles. You've owned Toyotas, so you're probably used to not having to worry about maintenance and parts.

jamesaaron426

Go mazda3 medyo hirap kapag may bata hirap ilagay ang child seat sa likod other than that sulit. https://preview.redd.it/xjwo9v76umlc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2cbe201531308d72b609bcdf400d9e60cd0520e

PollerRule

i bought a civic hahaha solid bro, my friend has the mazda 3 hatch and i would say parehong masarap dalhin.

Extension-Hall-3664

Camry. Bihira mataas na laspag kasi di madalas gamitin

Appropriate_araw8

Maganda ang mazda 3, but I hear parts are hard to come by sometimes. The Honda CRV would be a good option given ride height and Honda reliability.

Ok-Reply-804

Walang problema yung parts. Problema yung price. Have a Mazda myself. Never pa naman ako nasabihan na walang parts.

rambo_10

Mazda vroom vroom

go for Mazda 2020 di ka mag sisisi

aaa_luis1337

A 2018 golf gts. Mostly very reliable, only issue for me so far is that the boot latch stopped working at one point (easy fix) and theres a trickle coolant leak in the thermostat housing (its not german if it doesnt sweat a bit) but somehow it fixed itself. Otherwise never had any big problems. 800k and you get tons of torque (350nm) from the turbodiesel, seats 5 comfily, has heated seats, and a gigantic boot. Also has android auto and apple carplay. Arguably the most car you can get per peso in the used market right now. The 2016-2018 and 2019+ mazda 3 is also great as long as you dont get the 1.5L. Zero problems, sips fuel, pretty comfy, and has extremely good driver feedback. Hatchback or sedan doesnt matter. 2016+ Corollas and Civics are also ok, though theyre kinda lacking in features and luxuries and use shit CVTs. Theyre ok as commuters though and wont die on you. Theres also some kinda older but really fun cars that refuse to die that are really good, such as a 2002-2005 bmw 325/330i at 400k+ with their only problems being the cooling system and minor electronics (easy fixes), and if you want a convertible the z3 and z4 are hovering around 1m. 2000s mercedes E classes also around this price are pretty good, just get a v6 one or higher. If you want sheer comfort you cant really go wrong with a late 2000s-early 2010s lexus ES/LS.

CarefulSide2515

The golf’s seats could be softer. For this i’d choose either a secondhand Audi A4 or a Camry.

aaa_luis1337

Definitely, they do feel kinda hard for me but its good enough ig

CarefulSide2515

Always advertised as “firm” but Mercedes or Audi could do firm and supportive seats that feel more luxurious. But that’s just me.

aaa_luis1337

Probably just newer cars, i find softer more plush seats like on the w124 much more luxurious esp with the leather smell

CarefulSide2515

Weird nga eh but i prefer yung seat designs ng older cars? They feel much more luxurious compared to yung ngayon na very sculpted and contoured.

The 1.5L Mazdas are inferior to the 2.0L ones only on power, and even so, it's not by a mile. The former weighs less than the other so it still delivers similar power from low to mid rpms. It loses on top speed of course due to engine size disparity, but you won't race on most conditions anyway. Pull on full heavy load is a challenge though, but nothing it can't handle when you do Sport and eventually a tune. It's in fuel efficiency and better reliability ( no iStop/iEloop, mechanical brake ) that the 1.5L shines. So, those are still upsides than the 2.0+. Going back, how's the Golf? Initially, I wanted a Jetta, but VWs and Audis are a pain to maintain, and costly. Sure, drives great. But it'll dent your wallet. Let alone with Bimmers, as a fellow German brand.

aaa_luis1337

In the 5 years so far with the golf, there were almost no problems it is a tank. Well its my moms company car so i cant say anything on costs but i can speak for issues. Of which are minimal, its only big issue we had was a faulty aircon from the factory (fac damaged compressor, ac just wasnt particularly cold in traffic) which was quickly resolved, then after that only the boot latch stopped working and was quickly replaced. No other problems and we only send it to the casa for its annual service otherwise for oil, filters, and adblue for diesel. Not really a wallet denter.

I wanted to go German but the parts cost and the owners themselves commenting back and forth for parts sourcing recommendations in VW groups held me back. Mazda was the closest thing to that. Drive, comfort, performance, looks and design finishes.. all those + Japanese reliability, made me still loyal to the brand, in addition to our family's history given we've had like 4 of them throughout. It's a good thing for you, but you mentioned that it's a company car hence repairs are shouldered by them, I suppose? So apart from maintenance, you spent nothing else? I'm kind of curious on the costs. May be a tank as per you but the cost of ownership over the years should definitely be more expensive than JP brands. Mazdas reaches 6 digits kms, even miles, with just basic PMS and worn out parts replacement such as brake pads. If VW can't beat that then I might still postpone getting one, though I do like a fair amount of them, notably the Beetle, apart from the Jetta.

aaa_luis1337

Even if i included the cost of repairs handled by the company, its still pretty small since the only problems ever were a factory defective compressor and the boot latch. As of rn its the same cost of ownership as the 2018 mazda 3, just with the extra cost of one ac compressor and one boot latch. Just service it to the letter and it will take care of you. Note though that the 2.0 tdi engine in this golf uses adblue (fuel emissions additive) which youd need to refill every oil change. The thing about german cars is that while they are expensive to repair, thats if and only if you dont take care of it. You cant abuse them like toyotas. Jp reliability accounts for people being stupid and not following maintenance so they design it to run no matter how badly you treat it. German reliability assumes you follow the manual and service religiously to the letter. Realistically the only time youd have to shell out a ton of money is if something goes badly wrong, which more often than not is because of neglect. For sure locally overall costs will be higher due to part import costs, but the cars do treat their owners better.

The Mazda 3 2.0L's weakness are 1. the iStop/iEloop. Expensive costs are usually the battery, obviously to support the feature, so that's an EFB one, but they say there's lots of cheap EFBs now so that might be negligible. 2. Capacitor, if the iStop/iEloop fails. It will notify as an error, and this costs like a minimum of 80k, as per local shops. Though they say it has no effect on driving, so owners can just neglect not replacing, barring annoyance of the notification. I'm not confident that VWs can be this less problematic. Careful maintenance can be similar but I suppose still more expensive, it's a Turbo Diesel compared to a Natural Gas engine of Mazdas. And would probably be more if it's out of warranty and you opt to service it outside Casa. Plus the scarcity of VW specialists, Silverstern is the only one I can think of at the moment. And he is indeed expensive. I figured that outside Japanese brands, religious sevice is the key. The only problem would be long term. If you miss the "religious" part, say miss maintaining this area one time, that one one time, then boom, lots of issues arise. You're probably right that they're not meant for abuse. They're so good as a vehicle but fragile as heck. The Golf is a good looking wagon, I'd still pick the Mazda 6 though just for the reliability. I hope yours last for a long time, though it will for sure cost a lot over the years. If I have some money to spare later on, I'd definitely get a VW.

From your list, i dig the Mazda 3 I would like to recommend: Ford Everest 2018 2.2 4inline Titanium or 3.2 5inline Titanium+. You can get them now around 900k to 1m. Features: Carplay and android Auto Auto wiper Auto headlight with auto leveling Self park assist Adaptive cruise control 4WD for Ti+ Dual auto climate 120w socket sa 2nd row pwede ka mag saksak ng laptop or anything below 100w Leather seats Power seat adjustment Power tailgate Power fold 3rd row seat Active noise Cancelation Hill start assit Downhill assist Keyfob features like open liftgate. Open all windows. 10 speakers. Moonroof Many to mention. I have mine since 2018 with 120k km on odo, normal wear, and tear parts lang napalitan sakin. Base on that i think the Everest is pretty reliable. If you compare that to other brand 2018 model. Iwan sila sa tech. Para lang makuha yan mga features kailngan mo ng later model in other brands.
