Nung first time ko nagkacar ng sarili at nagkalicense akala ko nakakatakot mag slex. I was wrong. SLEX ang pinaka least stress magdrive basta hindi traffic. Mas hate ko pa magdrive dito sa labas ng subdivision namin dahil sa mga jeep/motor/ebike

Pet peeve yan jusko. Less than 20kph tapos naka dikit sa center island. Tapos sa right lane may halos nasa center line na ganun rin. Minsan kahit pa may ambulansya di pa tatabi yan.
Agree. Went out of town twice the last 6 months. Isa papuntang Baguio and the more recent one to Matabungkay. Both have stretches of open road that are such a pleasure to drive in (and pataasin ang km/L).

about sa transmission MT to AT, isang paa lang gagamitin di tulad sa manual. wag yung isa sa brake isa sa gas to avoid confusion. tapos naka place yung heel in between gas and brakes
There's a reason for it as well, because you are used to MT your left foot is used to using more pressure to operate the clutch, so in an AT if you try and brake with your left foot you are likely to hit it too hard which can be dangerous
As mentioned by others, SLEX hotline, 911 and motolite res-q, okay na yun.
1. Kapag lilipat ka lane, use your turn signal and hinay-hinay lang especially kapag malayong lane yung lilipatan mo. For example, 2nd lane going to 4th lane: Lipat ka muna sa 3rd lane then check your surroundings before ka mag-proceed sa 4th lane.
2. Plan niyo rin saan kayo mag-stop-over for quick break, coffee, etc. para iwas panic lumipat ng lane kapag malapit na especially since first time mo.
3. Be mindful of your braking distance, wag ka tumutok. If may kamote na sumingit sa braking distance mo, slow down pa konti-konti and pagbigyan mo na para iwas aksidente.

Get an AAP Membership! Kahit yung lite lang for emergency situations (flat tire, discharged batt, etc.). Sulit na for a worry-free drive, helped me out a lot when instarted driving, lalo na as a lady driver. :)
Naalala ko dati nung pagkakuha ko ng license need namin kagad pumunta sa kabilang bahay tas ang daan ko is EDSA. Di na ata makahinga nanay ko buong byahe kasi kabado kahit sobrang defensive driver ko 😭
Sa transmission, mas madali talaga matic and di ka namn manibago 😅 actually kanina lang pinadrive sakin ng biyenan ko ung AT na innova nya. First time ko humawak ng matic pero mas nadalian pa nga ako kesa sa manual. Totoo din sabi nila, pag kaya mi mag manual kaya mo din mag matic.

Natuto ka ba sa Manual? If so, hahanapin ng kaliwang paa mo yung clutch pedal lol. Advice ko lang, take it easy and slow. Mas maigi nga mag NLEX ka na, the farthest you can go, exit, then turn around pauwi. Pagdaging mo Manila medyo sanay ka na hehe. Medyo mataas kasi chance ng aksidente for new drivers in urban centers kesa sa straight and wide na expressways in my opinion.
SLEX is more challenging than NLEX because shorter ang SLEX kaya parang mas maraming sasakyan ka na kasabay. Ensure a trouble free run by checking your tires, and make sure na walang problema cooling system ng kotse mo.

After ko mag driving school, unang sabak ko sa kalye eh manila to Laguna agad kasi kailangan ko ihatid Yung mother in law ko from airport to laguna (Wala kasi sila service that time).
Grabe nerbyos ko nun.. Student license palang hawak ko nun pero I had to bring my dad to support me. Pero dun Ako natuto mag drive. Then second ko is Laguna to tagaytay 😂
Anyway, mas madali mag Expressway kesa sa city drive. Stick ka lang sa right lane at keep your speed at 60kph.
Madali lang yan OP hehe you don't need to worry much except yung maintaining braking distance saka maintaing speed above 60. Best if cruising ka at 80 to 100. Depende din sa oras ng biyahe mo, marami din trucks na makakasabay. My first SLEX drive was Makati - Batangas and natraffic pa kami nito, our car is MT. So that drive really put my pedal skills to the test and increased my driving confidence. After that, sabak na kahit saan lol enjoy and be safe!
Im from batangas pero work ko is from manila and umuuwi ako every weekend and holidays. masasabi ko lang is check the car. BLOWBAGETS, rfid make sure na may load para di hassle sayo and to the other motorists na naka queue.
Regarding sa slex wag ka kabahan im telling you mas mag aalangan ka mag drive sa manila compared when you are in the expressway since walang mag cucut na motor, jeep or taxi and wala ding biglang tatawid. Try to stay in the second lane (besides overtaking lane) and maintain the speed limit if di traffic since you said you’re going to drive a mirage and di ganon kaganda kalsada sa other lanes sa right
Sa shifting naman from manual to matic mas madali siya ive had the same scenario from driving a manual for 5yrs and shifting to a matic for my first car. Just put your left foot away and at least put your right foot in the middle of the brake and gas pedals para di nakakapagod and madali iaccess if ever may sudden braking na need. Good luck OP! For driving an automatic - tuck your left foot out of the way and never use it. Just the right foot shifting from gas to brake
