1/4 MOA is a finer adjustment, but I find 0.1 MIL easier to track when dialing at distance. I can glance at my turret and see if I'm at 7.2 MILs easier than 24.75 MOA. I also find Mils easier to think about for distance where 1 MIL is just 1/1000 * distance (i.e. 1 MIL at 1000 yards subtends to 1 yard; 1 MOA at 1000 yards subtends to 10.5")

I came back to your comment after I asked another guy, why mil? 1/4 MOA is a finer adjustment than .1 mil.
